This segment is for half asleep arm chair guys. Not enough information so it's just something to ponder. Goss said the drill the hole where the instructions tell you to. What instructions? I'm with the group below that knows it's safer to access through the drain hole, and I'd use a long hose for better coverage. But have a good look at your system. In my car all I had to do was take out the blower unit and the evaporator was exposed. Don't worry about cleaning the heater core because the evaporator always comes first in the air flow and that catches all the debris that you need to clean out. A lot of build up can be avoided if the cowl area at the base of the windshield on the outside of the car is kept clean. People that have an odorous build up always seem to have all kinds of leaves and twigs layered up over the cowl area, or they always leave the system set to recirculate. Running the system on fresh most of the time is better unless it's really hot outdoors and you need to use the recirculate setting. The fresh air setting will leave a cleaner smelling cabin and the windows won't fog.
Just enough info to get me in a lot of trouble. Where do I drill that hole? Do I have to rinse the foam out? I have an ‘03 F150 with no drain hose, just a short end of a pipe sticking through the firewall that’s really hard to reach
@frankthomas1054 I chemically sparay cleaned the condenser & evaporator and I saw improvement in the temperature but I still have warm air flow stopped at a light until I get rolling again. Someone above suggested that it might be the expansion valve but I haven't had it diagnosed or pulled the trigger to purchase the part and have it installed.
You didn't really tell us what happens before we give it back to our customer..? Do you rinse it out? Vacuum it out? Does it dissipate as the HVAC system is used?

Presented a full dash as if the type of person watching a DIY evaporator cleaning video isnt going to know what a dashboard is. Frankly, those are the type of people that shouldn't be driving anymore.
That's a sponsor ad if I ever saw one. Your cabin filter will pick up anything in the air long before it gets to the evaporator yet he didn't say a peep about changing your cabin filter. I've got the original evaporator in my 94 and it doesn't smell one bit. How would "oil from other cars" get up under your dash anyhow? Desperate for an ad is what that is.
No not all modern cars have them, it's just another part to replace at $20-$30 a pop. Frankly I don't want or need a cabin filter. When I use the A/C I always have it on recirculate. The filter is only for fresh air intake, which for me would mean only when using defrost, I don't need filtered air to heat my windshield.

lots of fords need this product
"This episode of motor trend has been brought to you by vagiclean!.....I mean frigiclean!!!
What do you do if you suspect possibly mice getting into the system?
Instead drilling a hole in your hvac its better to pump it though the AC evap drain.
Genius. Thank you
100%
Yeah if you can find it on 2011 durango
What if the drain is clogged? Plus, you're applying it backwards.
Thank you,,, you could literally cause hundreds of dollars…
Where do we get instruction for a 2011 Durango
Will a clogged dirty evaporator cause warm air at a light then cold air when moving?
A failing expansion valve can give these symptoms

Thanks
Or a condenser could be blocked

Condensador fun not working
good presenter. Thank you.
How do you put the fridge clean through the valve
You just spray it in the car.
What does that cleaner do to your blower motor though?

is that a Chevy Cavalier dash? looks brand new.
How much does this service cost to do?
How can I find a local shop (30046) that can perform this service ?
just spray some lysol into the fresh air intake register while running heat ot a/c full blast. done!
Years ago(before the internet) Goss did a piece doing just what you said !!!!! I thought the same thing you wrote
Noseefood not sure what the ammonia will do to plastics and foam seals.
I can say i have been doing it to my 82 MB for years and there are no problems. Ammonia comes in a plastic bottle
Good video and all, but what about cars that have a cabin air filter?
Why wouldn’t they just use the hole where the water comes out instead of drilling a hole in the box?
the foam travels _downhill_ more successfully.
Would have been helpful if you had shown how to access the big black part.

You take apart your dashboard.. It is a huge pain.
This stuff doesn’t work It’s a temporary fix. smell comes back after a couple days
sounds like abc13 news
You could just spray vinegar in there and kill mold!
This is a barely disguised ad.
its a knowledgeable mechanic showing you how to solve a problem.
guess what.... it works. i used it to get rid of nasty cigarette smell in ductwork.
I need to do this to my evo. It smells like a locker room and I've already rug doctored it twice.

Kcducttaper1 well we don't all have cabin filters, my 2006 jeep doesn't have one......
Don't all modern or some what modern cars have cabin air filters? If not, why don't all cars have them? What is the harm?

not unless you get the part number and to a search on it and buy it online for fraction of the price!!
Kcducttaper1 not all vehicles have cabin filters
Why not just hook it up to evap drain line instead of possibly causing a permanent leak in the interior of your car...
This method is fraught with danger. Don’t do it. Use the ac drain hose with a thinner length of tubing.
Prefer the Toyota hvac cleaner. It comes with a longer house which you insert into the hvac drain tube. No drilling!
Goss is Boss!
+MotorWeek can you do a retro review on the first generation rav4 please!!??
