After 2012 Outback passenger floor area flooded, found your site for the cause. Ordered the kit and followed your steps -- worked great. Just remember to take the cap off the piece that attaches to the foam cleaner can so you can use the push button (Doh!). Don't have a lift and I didn't want to try and thread the drain hose back through the firewall and clamp, etc. so I also purchased and connected a spare hose to the evap. Look carefully and remember where the hose connects to the evap. Then reconnected the previously cleaned out existing drain hose and good to go.

Thanks Mr. Subaru! I had to replace my HVAC blower in my Outback. I did not realize that the bearings and brushes corroded due to the water backup from the drainage tube. I did not have to do the full evaporator cleanse because clean water flowed freely out of the evaporator. Instead I got a turkey baster and diluted Pine-Sol solution and shot it through the top of that convoluted drain tube. Success! The Pine-Sol also prevents mold growth in the drain tube if that was the original problem. Wear your safety goggles when shooting that stuff around.

Проделывал эту процедуру сам на SJ Forester,при снятии трубки важно придерживать круглую манжету под полом,или побрызгать силиконом.
После процедуры необходима яма,что бы трубку вернуть на родное место под машиной.

Thanks bro! Very helpful- I'm not a great mechanic. 2015 Legacy has the evap drain more clipped in, so the inside option wasn't really there. Jacking up is a big deal for me but I got through it.
If I had one wish to make your video more helpful, I had a hard time disconnecting the compressor wire. You did in like a second! My vision isn't great and it took me a while to figure out. Many other related videos show the compressor already disconnected, so not much help there. I think this is an experience thing, which I don't have when it comes to all these different connector types. Otherwise great and thank you again for posting, it did save me some good money. This service is one of the more annoying recommendations from Subaru, but it does help.

Bought the EVAP kit and tried it out yesterday on my 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX. First off the foam cleaner leaked from between the cone fitting and plastic tubing so i had to push the tubing into the fitting and hold it there the entire time. Don't know if the WRX is different but there is NO WAY your spraying the entire bottle of foam cleaner into the cars drip hose without having to drain the line at least twice before the can is empty. Also the amount of pressure you're sending into the drip hose will cause cleaner to come out of the plastic seams in a box (don't know what it's called) inside the passenger foot well. To it's credit the cleaner did get some dirt/debris out but it wasn't anything crazy, this is the kind of thing you do maybe once or twice in your vehicles life time tbh.

I found the hose underneath the passenger side, stuck the cone in, and emptied the whole can without an issue. I was just driving so it was slowly dripping, which confirmed it was the right hose. I pull the can hose out and some of it drains. I go back up to the cabin and my passenger floorboard has the majority of the fluid sitting on my floor mats. I would say about 90% of it. What does that mean?

Great video!!! Quick question, I was considering re-charging the AC system with new R134 Freon (the car just turned 6 years and it’s never been done even though AC works perfect). It would probably be best to recharge it first and then perform this service right? Thanks always for your videos!!

You should not recharge a perfectly working system. If there are no leaks, then the r134a is perfectly sealed. Replacing it will not net any benefits.
