Vinyl Liner Stair Made Easy!!!

  • In this video we show the secret to our most popular vinyl liner stairs! Our attendees to our training seminars really liked this detail compared to thermoplastic stairs, which while easier to install, can be a really tricky thing to ship with our kits as anything over 8 feet long is super high to ship at the moment. So we decided that with the proper details most of you could easily do these stairs and really dress up your pool projects!

    Would like to see a video on how you exactly measure and fill out the liner form for those stairs and for the bench !

    Fantastic job. Will the liners hold well for hot states like Arizona and Texas. The top part of the liner does have water to the brim

      Liners do good in heat, water doesn’t have to be up to the brim…. Sun and chlorine bleach them out over time, so the sunnier the quicker that can happen but they are cheap compared to plaster and eco when it’s time to switch it out

    I like your videos! I think the icf is good for the liner. But for the Eco finish you are striping all of the foam off of the inside? At that point why don’t you just form and pour? Add foam to the outside later if you think it’s necessary. I form and pour monolithicly doing that. I have developed a method over the years that you may be interested in.

    Thank-you for the video. For the vinyl liner pool steps do you need to have extra footing and rebar in the floor underneath to support the weight? And do the steps need to be tied into the floor with dowels?

    Beautiful design, thanks, I’m going to copy it for my retrofit of stairs to my pool. Two questions: Really no mortar on the MCUs? No adhesive? And: no vertical or horizontal rebar? I assumed I had to epoxy rebar into the existing concrete floor. Thanks!

    One quick questions on the stairs. Do you use rebar and fix the blocks to the floor ? If not, can you get av problem that the water pressure pusses the blocks into the gravel ?

    • @all3pools
      @all3pools  ปีที่แล้ว

      U can pin them. We usually do, but backfilled with gravel and filled in with concrete they aren’t going anywhere against a max of 4’ of water

    For those stairs, it looked like your aggregate was 3/4” or 1” stone. Is there any reason you didn’t go with pea gravel since you were using a pump anyway?

    • @all3pools

      Ya. We use 3/4 in most of our walls for strength and poured these from the same truck…. Use whatever you are comfortable finishing!

    Hi- I'm glad I found your video(s)!. I working on doing a DIY Lap pool. 10x44 with corner stairs. Trying not to come out too far off the corner since the pool is so narrow. Can you tell me your NORMAL distance off the corners or even provide a quick sketch of how you make your "easy" DIY steps as shown in the video. Really appreciate the help!

    • @all3pools
      @all3pools  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Normal stairs in pools have 10” rose and 14” treads, if you buy them, but you can make them any size or shape, the simpler the easier for the liner, are you trying to auto cover it, if not a thermoplastic insert might be easier since it’s outside the main rectangle

    • @joelbaden935
      @joelbaden935 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So... if you look at the video at about 8 minutes in... seeing the finished stairs.... my calculations make the distance from the corner out to the left edge of the stairs about 80". Have you ever done the radiant walls with just 3 stairs?.... making the top 18" deep then 14" tread for the next 2 --- Top step is then under approx 8- 9" of water and a total 12-13" up to the top decking. I'm dealing with only about a 9' wide - insulated steel wall - radiant pool (52" walls) ...So 3 steps, as described, would come out about 65" out of the corner.... vs the 80" which I don't have room for. In your opinion..... Would this work? Appreciate all the help!

    Your videos are great, but your audio sucks. I see you have a mic, and you are recording separate audio, If you record it on the phone, in the app set the audio to the lowest possible setting (probably - 12 db), so you can't peak it. Then, when you import it into the editor, you just normalize it to - 6 db, and it will be the ideal setting for TH-cam. I bet you can triple your views!

    • @all3pools
      @all3pools  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Old vid old mic, still learning but it’s considerably better now, I’m using a lark, knock off of the rode, it’s got more adjustment than I understand but I usually set it at 6 unless it’s super windy and I have to talk loudly then 5 seems to be harder to peak out…. Appreciate the feedback

    • @AwesomeSauceShow
      @AwesomeSauceShow 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@all3pools Yeah, I saw that with later videos it's better. But in any case, set the mic at least at -10 db, everything over 0 is audio suicide ;). If you use premiere pro, you can right-click on the audio clip and click open in Audition, then you select the clip, go to effects and normalize, it takes like 30s, but could be the difference between 2k or 20k views. People are very forgiving when the video quality isn't as perfect, but with audio they jump off immediately.
