I played TDU 1 and 2 as well as the older Test Drive games on PS1. I wish this was not online only but I am still very excited for it. It definitely has the potential to be great but they need to add cross platform play at some point soon

Just sad to see this, i remember Test Drive use to have a unique trait back in the day that use to make it stand out from other racing games like creating avatars, safe houses etc, other racing games took inspiration from TD, look at it now, jumping on the generic racing game bandwagon, just another title trying to be Forza Horizon, and FH at least has a single player offline mode. Sad to see this. I was very excited for this new TD title but sad to see that it has also jumped on the generic online only racing game bandwagon.
they've gone for the online only as they want to create an ever expanding world, as an example 3 months in we get the TDU 2 Ibiza map, and as for the older stuff they've stated that, whilst not available at launch they will be present in the near future

This. Free content over a year means the game is not finished. It's not added out of kindness, this is the remaining content to get the full game. I hate what gaming has become in the last decade or so.

The forced multi is what killed the game for me. Always online is dumb, but I get it, that's how gaming is now, but even online, I dont wanna race with other players all the time. Any game allows you to race AI if that's your choice. Not in this game though... It'll always be with other players which means dirty races, ramming and less chances to earn money which is crucial in this game. I canceled my preorder and hope for at least an option to race AI only even if that means earn less money in the end. I know a lot of us are in the same case.

I saw years ago when test drive 1 first came out, a so called friend was playing it online, And i sat and watched in horror as this one online racer was just crashing everyone off the track, And i thought I never want to play online if that's what happens, Then when TD2 came out a lot of that was online, i hated it, you couldn't go in the casino, half of the races were online, i though this would happen if they ever brought another TD game out, I just knew it was gonna happen Dude. I predicted as much, so Im'e not surprised my friend. Great game though TD2, Love it.
The one thing that seriously annoys me is that the world just seems dead. I remember in the Crew 2 every city had NPCs walking around, making the world feel and look lived in while also making it where you couldn’t run them over. Motorfest removed NPCs entirely and it looks TDU is going for the same approach

I'm enjoying Forza Horizon because you own the game as long as it's installed in your system, even if it's already delisted, you can still enjoy it. I pulled the trigger and bought the tdusc gold edition for the PS5 i’ve seen enough gameplay from people playing the beta I love racing on the long high ways also I love the small details you can do in the car.

I’m pretty sure the map is significantly smaller than the previous game’s maps. Granted, the last game is 14 years old so developing a map that big in today’s industry would be near impossible.
This is not a TDU game at all. Not even close. How I wish someone remade TDU and TDU2. These two games are still peerless. Even a remaster would beat all others miserably. Hell I am even OK with someone making the originals to run properly on modern PCs.

If TDUSC is being touted as a 'multiplayer experience' to the point of being an MMO, then WHY is it predominantly a SINGLE PLAYER game? It makes ZERO sense for TDUSC to not only have a persistent online connection but also a persistent server connection.
it baffles me that we're almost in 2025 and games are still being released in 1440p @ 30 fps. It's downright unacceptable to not have 4K @ 60 fps as the standard.

Personal from me, the spec is too high to afford, although yes i can easily buy a new pc to this higher spec that this game to play this and wukong black myth but because i already tried the beta before and plus im looking into this gameplay nowadays, its preety much confirmed that i wont ever buy this. Honestly i want to play together with all of you include alex as well which is one of the tester in tdu sc. Its just that im really disappointed to see this kind of game is already going towards the similar fate like the crew. However not buying this games is not simply because of just online only, but in tradition this game is obviously no longer the same as the old tdu games in which i already anticipated and expected since im really spektecial about this after the gameplay of beta at that time, myself. Despite that the hard work for this game, i sorry to say but my main objective is to see the contents itself and of course unfortunately it has failed to reach the minimum threshold. I dont want to say it here as this is quite a harsh review but as i say, this game is quite empty. And since the content is quite empty and content wise is just failed to meet my expectations especially the stories, what the objective is, not simply just street vs sharp and see more background stories interact for why this solar crown exist in the first place. Anyway fail to meet expectations for contents, despite the good environment and good graphic which everyone loves to see or not and in fact, i wont care about that one as long as the game itself is bad, is a big no to me from purchasing this game. But despite this comment, it would be subjected to change and i would look at the roadmap at least if there is any sign of improvement but i wont expect anything good regardless.
Also taking note that I know in fact since most of the game is towards online nowadays, It won't be anywhere good after all. Unless someone cooking these game content that does really care about the players to make enjoyable moment but in a short period of time. That's the fact and in fact I also know they need income to sustain the life of the game per contract for these year especially the music and car licences for years. Although this game is around the corner already but I still kept it spectacle for now. Like I say, the comments would be subjected to change if there is improvement. I’m pretty sure the map is significantly smaller than the previous game’s maps. Granted, the last game is 14 years old so developing a map that big in today’s industry would be near impossible.

If TDUSC is being touted as a 'multiplayer experience' to the point of being an MMO, then WHY is it predominantly a SINGLE PLAYER game? It makes ZERO sense for TDUSC to not only have a persistent online connection but also a persistent server connection.

Personal from me, the spec is too high to afford, although yes i can easily buy a new pc to this higher spec that this game to play this and wukong black myth but because i already tried the beta before and plus im looking into this gameplay nowadays, its preety much confirmed that i wont ever buy this.
Honestly i want to play together with all of you include alex as well which is one of the tester in tdu sc. Its just that im really disappointed to see this kind of game is already going towards the similar fate like the crew. However not buying this games is not simply because of just online only, but in tradition this game is obviously no longer the same as the old tdu games in which i already anticipated and expected since im really spektecial about this after the gameplay of beta at that time, myself. Despite that the hard work for this game, i sorry to say but my main objective is to see the contents itself and of course unfortunately it has failed to reach the minimum threshold. I dont want to say it here as this is quite a harsh review but as i say, this game is quite empty.
And since the content is quite empty and content wise is just failed to meet my expectations especially the stories, what the objective is, not simply just street vs sharp and see more background stories interact for why this solar crown exist in the first place. Anyway fail to meet expectations for contents, despite the good environment and good graphic which everyone loves to see or not and in fact, i wont care about that one as long as the game itself is bad, is a big no to me from purchasing this game. But despite this comment, it would be subjected to change and i would look at the roadmap at least if there is any sign of improvement but i wont expect anything good regardless.
Also taking note that I know in fact since most of the game is towards online nowadays, It won't be anywhere good after all. Unless someone cooking these game content that does really care about the players to make enjoyable moment but in a short period of time. That's the fact and in fact I also know they need income to sustain the life of the game per contract for these year especially the music and car licences for years. Although this game is around the corner already but I still kept it spectacle for now. Like I say, the comments would be subjected to change if there is improvement. Other than that this is what I'm seeing and personal view, for now.

From Hong Kong, like racing games or car games, especially open-world, pre-ordered it immediately. I have not played the Steam demo, people said it's not really like Hong Kong, the roads are different, cannot regonize the area, it has no single right-steering car, it's just not so good but I don't care, as long as it has Chinese theme I'm good
However, after I played the closed beta last week, disappointed. Well, no one cares my reason anyway, and my reason of huge disappointment is very likely not the concern of most players or gamers, so most players or gamers will find this game amazng wonderful, don't worry, your money should not be wasted. I'm actually not a racing fan, more like to be a cruise fan
