Just did 2 key fobs for our son’s Ram 1500. The 1st was a little tricky because of mom’s fingers touching wrong buttons on the app. 🤦🏻♀️ Then, the final instructions calling for the new fob to be directly placed in the ignition port flashed on the screen VERY quickly before disappearing, so it took a few more tries to be able to read them correctly. About 25 minutes after starting the process, we had 1 fob done. Less than 4 minutes later, the 2nd one was successfully programmed, and my son looked at me like I WAS A GENIUS. Check for lights on the dashboard.
Within 5 to 15 seconds of turning your engine on, turn your engine to the "OFF" position.
You now have 15 seconds to insert your second key (with transponder) into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
Observe the Sentry Key Immobilizer System light flash, which is represented by a red dot over the temperature gauge.
You have 45 seconds to turn the key to the "OFF" position.
Insert your new key (with transponder) into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
Wait for an indicator sound, which should go off within 10 seconds of turning the key. The indicator light should also flash for three seconds.
Remove the key and programming is complete.
***YOU MUST HAVE 2 OTHER KEYS TO PROGRAM THE NEW THIRD KEY***
ADD Duplicate Key-MUST have two Programmed already!
1. Insert one of the two valid keys into the ignition lock and turn the ON (RUN) position.
2. After the key has been in the ON position for atleast five seconds, but no more than15 seconds turn the lock back to OFF.
3. Remove the Key and insert the second valid key and turn to the ON position within 15 seconds. (The second Key must not be the same as the first key)
4. A theft alarm light should illuminate after ten seconds and a single chime sound will indicate entry into the Customer Programming Mode.
5. Turn the key to the OFF position within 60 seconds and remove the Valid key.
6. Insert a new key and turn to the ON position.
7. After appoximately ten seconds, a single chime will sound and the theft alarm will stop. Wait Five seconds and turn to the OFF position.
Does this work for 2019 ram?
I'm not totally sure. If it has a key, it should work.
Very confused by the Ram DS/DR/DT/DX/D2/DD. I've owned two rams in the last few years, and I've never even heard those terms. At least I can narrow out a couple of them, but looking at the app has me pretty concerned about that aspect 😂😂
I don't know what to tell you. Go by the year and choose something. It's really not rocket science. You won't hurt anything by choosing the wrong thing.

Appreciate the quick response! I did purchase the OBD plug, and downloaded the app, now to wait for shipping. Thank you 🙏
You can’t do it without the odb connector?
No. Well, if you have two keys you can do a third. But if you only have one, you need to do it that way.
Also do you have to buy the vin for $24 to do it ?
@@elow305 yes
What would the process be for doing a 3rd if you already had 2 working keys? Thanks!
Thanks for making the video. Damn it's a frustrating thing. LIke some kind of magic has to happen to make it work. I've tried several times with no luck...I'll give it another go in the AM. Each step seemed to demand my going in side, cooling off and then getting back to it. Wish me luck Again...thanks for the video.
No problem. Make sure you have a good internet signal. I think part of the problem is it has to check for your license. I agree, is can be frustrating. I've done it several times and sometimes it so easy, but other rimes its very frustrating. But when ity works, its awesome.
@@EvolvingMale I’ll get after it today.

Has anyone programmed a 2019 Chrysler 300c new key fob with this?
You didn't tell us what software
@@markmoeller5583 I’m pretty sure I did. It’s JScan. Download the app from the App Store.
Does this work on a 2011 ram
I’m not sure. If you download the app, it will list the vehicles and you can see if yours is included
Mines not
Worked great 2016 1500 Ram Tks. 105$ Cnd And have access to tons of options for future problem. Lol
You’re welcome. Thanks for reaching out
Gosh man...I just can't get this to work for me I've been trying for 3 days...I'm getting bummed out and ready to return this stuff back to Amazon. I've been saying my goodbyes to my first born son because I know that's what the dealer is going to want for some new keys.
I feel your pain. Sometimes it just work, others it is hard. Best to restart the app and start the process over
I read that the Ram system limits how many keys can be programmed. Not sure if it is 5, 6 or whatever.
Whats the app name?
Jscan
Why he look like Aaron Rodgers though 😂😂😂
I’m older. Aaron looks like me
@@EvolvingMale 😂
keeps telling me that mine is already programmed but it’s not
Shut it down and start the steps over. Mine did it too but I think I started it up with the key and then it was working.
@@EvolvingMale I finally got one of the keys to program the other one is still saying already programmed
@@truecountry014 have you tried using it to start the vehicle? The second one I did in the video did it to me. Once I started it, it unlocked the doors. The app is still somewhat beta
The app is no good doesn't work properly
I had the same thing happen to me were it said it was already programmed but wouldn’t start the truck so I put the one that wouldn’t start the truck into the ignition and repeated the steps and it worked perfectly
Man bro I’m having zero luck bought all the things did what I was told I think and having zero luck
I’ll tell you that it helps to have a good WiFi signal when you’re doing it. Once I had that, I had no issues. Keep trying. Reboot your phone, make sure everything is fresh, good signal and try try again

The old dirty bastard port
By now you've spent as much as what it would cost to do at a dealer.
Does not work
It does work. You are either doing something wrong, or you fob is bad. sometimes it takes a few tries. I’ve done it several times on a ram, and multiple times on Jeeps
Scam
Yeah, all these people that it worked for…
Adapter not available anymore!!
Any bt obd2 adapter should work. Just search amazon. If the you want the best, which allows you to do more, get the mx+
Question, i dnt have the old fob but have the key, will the programming still work on the new fob?
I think So
Thank You
Will this work for a 2013 Challenger where I do not insert the key. It has push button?
@@Bornarebel86 I believe so
