He was the first Indian sportsman played for a foreign club. Italian fans built a stadium for the remembrance of Jimmy, proud to be for all Indians..,not sure if there is any other stadium outside India built for Indian sportsman…✌️

Our ppl played mostly in open air courts, yet their sheer talent took them so far, Jimmy-chayan is a once in a generation superstar like Usha and Vijayan.

Lucky to see Jimmy in 1978 79 playing volleyball with fire. Once I saw in Tirupur 3 or 4 George brothers playing in a team. I have heard they were six brothers in a team playing in one team. If it is true means I think it should be world record. Those days we Tamils loved jimmy playing volleyball. We also enjoyed one village player playing some wonderful art of placements in the game. His name is panner selvam. Little short man. Is he alive .

Mr.senthil kumar i have watched Panneer selvam playing for Dharmapuri cooperative sugar mills palakkodu during 1975-79 in Kethanur.Single handedly he can finish a point by his smash.as you said short but powerful player.But a chain smoker.Great memories. How can weknow about him now.I have also watched cyril valloor in action.Great players.Great moments.

RIP, to both Jimmy George and Abdul Basith. I am from Hyderabad, and Abdul Basith also. In 1991 he was Honoured with Padma Shri. But Tragically Dead with Electric Shock within 6 months. I think Badminton Champion P.V.Sindhu's Father is also member of that Team.
It is sheer disgrace to the term" sportsman spirit" that six individuals have very disconcertingly disliked a great volleyball legend late Jimmy George ,there were times when spectators would rather give up their seats and select a visually apt higher corner just to watch this legend smash the wits out of his opponents .I am proud to have lived in a place and time that belonged to one the greatest smashers in the history of volleyball.He deserves respect and nothing less.
That accident in Italy.....30 years ago ... I couldn't see any match that he participated... Gimmi George your legacy always have remembered . Glittering star of north Malabar..at Kozhikode my all elder cousin's were witnessed and stunned with your stop jump attack .... thanks to TH-cam

I was searching for jimmy George's video for the past eight years.....i was interested in volleyball and my tution sir told there was a great volleyball player named jimmy...Now after a long time i got to know his play and knew y others called him as the best ever volley ball player.....And i am proud to know that he is a malayalee.........:)..Thankx for the video....................
I played valleyball in those days. Was an attacker always. Had good jump. I had seen games by Joji,Cyril,Udayakumar and all who played with great Jimmy. But i could never see his games.I had heard a lot about him.Thanks for this video. Jimmy was a legend,a world class player.If he lived for another 2-3 years, he would have been No 1 in the world.
