There are not "too many variables". It's just that the power draw that is displayed is ONLY for driving. It does not factor in any additional usage. And especially if you do a real world test as compared to straight road trip style tests, these additional consumers will account for more. Preconditioning takes power, AC pre-heating/Cooling takes power. Sentry Mode takes a lot of power. And so on and so forth.
Sam, Sam, Sam… Dude, I love your content! Stayed right to the end as I always do and loved the impromptu with your wife and yourself. So cool. Keep it coming brother :)
Haha. I thought we were going to chat a bit more before you did this vid 😜It wasn’t a waste of time. Your real world test is your real world range. Over a week of intermittent driving there is energy lost that doesn’t go into actually turning the wheels of the car. To get anywhere near the published range you have to drive at a set speed (around 80km/h) without too much stop/start or hills, so what’s the point. Who drives like that?? Your test is the most real world in my opinion. It’s very difficult to get consistent range results on a real world driving test which is why I told you not to worry about the results. The thing that you can compare with others is the economy. My new Model Y with 20” wheels like yours is sitting at a lifetime average consumption of 149Wh/km after 3000km of mixed driving.
6:07 don’t pay attention you have beautiful daughters, and they will obviously change with a time and they weigh become normal, believe me I have son, he was big when he was 2 years old and right now he is 7 and he looks amazing bro🇺🇦♥️🇺🇸
wow, haha, he took the tesla up the prewitt ridge in big sur. @samuel how did it perform up there? Specically with the thinner tires and the lowish clearance? Some parts on that road can be pretty sketch sometimes.
I think, you should sometime team up with MKBHD (you probably haven’t heard of him - a really small TH-camr) on some sort of project. That would be a very interesting combo as I think you would complement each other. I have the greatest respect of your ideals, you’re sharing. But really, your style of humour is unmatched on YT. I can’t even put my finger on what it is. Thanks for making my life better.
Hey Sam! Love your videos, it is very entertaining and has a certain charm. I think you can add on to this idea and make a second video doing an average of like 7 drives. Just need more excuses to see videos from you tbh lol. Have a great day bro.
so roughly 1% battery gets you 3.18km, so on a good run maybe you can get 4km on 1%? That means on average of 100 trips, I can expect 350km per full charge, is that fair to say?
Yes and no. If you do a 10 hr drive in 1 day driving in and around town you’ll get way more out of 1% because of less phantom drain. But if you take 4 weeks to do the same 10 hours your 1% will go far less. I’ve done 400+km on 1 full charge before but that was because I did it within 3 days. So if you can’t charge at home, EV will be hard.
I pay $69 a month on charging (for two Teslas), so far 40,000km and $50 on maintenance (tyre rotation). My Tiguan before it used $100/week on petrol $450 per year on servicing. Car cost same to buy outright. I bought another Tesla, not to save money but because it’s the most fun we’ve ever had in a vehicle. Trust me bruv.
Dude i challeng you to drive on express way 180-200 km/h i don't now in miles but i can promise you you cannot reach even half of you'r charge, try to drive on German express way where peaple drive like kamikaze 250 km/h and i can promise you that you cannot reach around 300 km maybe not even that,i seen every day you EV owners drive like a grandmothers on express ways only 120 km/h.
I just bought an i pad from you ur a great person i just subscribed
He sure is!
i like how honest you were about simply exploiting your friend for the sake of this video

that taxi driver must have been thinking about the tesla for the rest of the day after that experience!
Can we just talk about the gangster wheels, the amount of curb rash on it 😭😭😭😭 0:35
LOL NO. We CANNOT TALK ABOUT IT. Goddamn. I only just forgot about it.

Do you know in that 8 days maybe sentry mode was on? And heating or cooling and screen and so on useses battery?
You’ll definitely be at 100 K in no time

I am unworthy to even untie MKBHD's shoelaces, let alone collaborate with him.
If I ever end up being in a video with MKBHD, it's because of this encouraging comment you left.
No dream‘s too big…
And I really don’t think his shoelaces are that fancy.
@@Boeing747-8ieasy to collaborate only 20 hours plane ride away 😂😂

Awesome vid though. When did you get to 17k subs!!! Well done mate 😊
I want that short Film now! 😂

Unfortunately range is trash, got a MYLR and range wont go more than 220miles for me. Ending the lease and going back to gas car.

BRO YOU HIT ON THE HEAD!!! True range is half of what it says at 100 or 80 percent
MKBHD is a Small TH-cam e😂❤
What kind of businesses are you involved in? I get the impression that you don't have a normal 9 to 5. 😉
I run a video production company and this TH-cam channel. Video production isn't 9-5.
20’ not 21’
I’m so bad. Correct. 20’
Born on the bed she was made on. 😂😂😂😂😂
Tesla its a good car and good for now 💯💯💯🔥
I subscribed you definetely will reach your goal 5:41 pleaaase more humor you are good on it)))
Why buy a car with 300km of range you’re going to pay more then s petrol car to keep charging it
I pay $69 a month on charging (for two Teslas), so far 40,000km and $50 on maintenance (tyre rotation). My Tiguan before it used $100/week on petrol $450 per year on servicing. Car cost same to buy outright.
