The reason why healing support ults are meta is because they're a crutch. A very good one, obviously, but still a crutch. They make up for the whole team being bad and the culprit is almost always poor positioning and strategizing. For example, the best counter to Strange's ult is just not being clumped up in the first place so he can't ever get more than one or two of you. That's difficult on some maps but it's never impossible, plus you can stop it with shields and interrupts. Having to use a healing ult to counter it should be considered a failure, not the default reaction. Rocket is literally a mirror on how good your DPS is. He keeps people up even thru enemy defensive ults (if they have situational awareness), and amplifies what damage can be done (if they can do damage). It's the ultimate callout, folks don't like that lol
Ok I’ve decided to learn rocket and I have a few questions. First off I play on controller so keep that in mind. My first question is for his wall climb, should I be using the advance towards crosshair or advance vertically upward setting? I’ve tried both out and they both feel extremely uncomfortable but I feel like I have absolutely no control over it with the advance vertical and at the same time I feel like using the advance towards cross hair is just super buggy. Second question is should I have auto reload on? I know he’s basically a heal bot so I’m wondering if it’s even worth not having auto reload on cause sometimes I run out of healing bullets and don’t notice and it leads to teammates dying. I don’t see a reason in having auto reload turned off when I’m basically not using his primary weapon for the entire game. Other than these questions I’m just starting to learn him so any tips would be appreciated 😊
Vertically up, then your directions are always consistent and you can change your aim while climbing. Up means up, down means down, etc. It's something to figure out in training room. Yes auto reload should be on. If you're thinking about your left click you're thinking too hard with this hero. It's decent for breaking deployables but is very secondary to his healing. It's mainly learning to use his mobility to avoid flankers. What makes a great rocket player is how they never die. More uptime means more heals plus more revives. Your jetpack has two charges plus the air hover and wallclimb. Focus on the jetpack first since it's so versatile and has multiple charges. On controller it might take some figuring out since you can't flick upward, but on Rocket you can have very high sensitivity setting and it doesn't mess up your aim so that should help.
1. use vertically upward, memories the map of where to run and crawl, direct the camera to your opponent to have a better grasp of the situation is much better than just run 2. if you confident in your tracking and shooting ability, turn off the auto reload, but considering you on controller, it's already hard enough to shoot so turn on the auto reload and try to track the healing bullet count more tips: rocket's model is very small, small enough for bullet to hit the ledge instead of over the ledge but thanks to that some of the spot are high enough that only you can hide in if i remember correctly in the wakanda map, there's a super tall ledge on the middle building that was having bushes, i used to hide there, even the iron man and spider-man couldn't see me they nerf that spot though, they remove the bushes but there're still many places rocket can hide, try to find them around the map
@ thanks for the tip and yeah I use that spot on the wakanda map every game I play on it😭 it’s such a good spot for rocket cause even if he’s seen he can just run away instantly. Also yeah I’ve been trying to keep track of the healing projectiles more but my movement is still bad. I just find his wall crawl really uncomfortable
@ thanks I’ve been playing him a lot since I made this comment and I’ve made some improvements to my overall gameplay but the movement is still a little tricky lol. There’s so many times where I die but if I had wall climbed how I wanted to then I may have survived and there’s also times where I accidently wall climb and die due to it
@@alexm.6557 I like to rebind the jump button to the left trigger and the healing to the right bumper. The BBB goes to the bottom button since you’re only pressing that only once a while. That way it is easier to jump and shoot as well as making wall climbing easier. I put the float down option as hold down rather than toggle so you have more control when dropping.
Rocket is the absolute best support in the game up until Grandmaster. The community is just WRONG. He has the _highest win rate_ out of all the supports in the game. As long as he stays alive - the game is essentially a 7-6. He has the most versatile healing in the entire game, and can get away from the back line divers and survive with his double boosters.
Just a question about Rocket. Should I pre-place my B.R.B beacon at a safe location or should I wait and predict when an ally is eventually doomed to perish and quickly place the B.R.B beacon to instantly revive that ally? If the latter, should I try to save my B.R.B beacon for a specific ally, such as low mobility tank such as Groot for example?
Lmao whenever a groot tries to block me off from my team as rocket and I don’t have time to melt his walls with my gun, I just wall crawl over them and bam groot just wasted his time setting up a wall I can just scramble over.
So you say it’s a good thing that the enemy is splitting attention when shooting rocket while on the sides. What is your opinion of say a Spider-Man, or black panther chasing rocket trying to secure the kill. Is that the same thing or is the time you spent running and not healing more detrimental than one of the enemies dive characters not being in the fight?
A good rocket will just heal while keeping the attention of the diver like if a panther jumps on you then you can climb heal as you leave the wall heal again before starting the climb again healing after dashing etc. even in higher ranks people will tunnel vision you I had a game yesterday in gm1 where an iron fist came for me the entire game I just sat high ground meaning he had to use his kick to get to me then I’d jump off high ground he’d follow then I’d just dash straight up so he can’t lock on to me landing back on high ground then he wouldn’t be able to get to me for 10 or so seconds while his kick was on cooldown since his wall run has to be to the side and he can’t go straight up leaving him stuck in my team and just getting killed
@@pwntwny honestly I disagree. Imo if they nerfed the OP support ults rocket would be great Rocket is great but his ult just cant compete with Luna, Mantis, Invis woman, cloak and dagger ults
He needs something like C&D's bubble so he can swap from right clicking to left clicking. Like it goes "everyone within range of this thing is treated as if they're near a healing orb" so Rocket can have a few seconds where he won't have to right click.
@@GilliamYaeger If you watch closely, once an orb slows down to heal a target, every other orb goes right through full speed and doesn't heal more. So you can throw a couple orbs - ideally in a way some will bounce back - and shoot a bit of left click before right clicking again. That's the way to have uptime and the best APM with Raccoon. There IS time to do dmg.

The thing is rocket is the least flashy support, he will win you game if ur consistent but nobody will notice it. It's kind of like saying janitors and plumbers are useless. Rocket himself will never make play and the advantage he gains for the team is gradual so when a team with rocket wins it's never because of rocket but when a team with rocket loses its rocket's fault. Just like you don't notice a good plumber or janitor unless you yourself play rocket you don't notice the rocket providing all the better number
Either for a push or to cancel a defensive ult (rocket ult dmg boost can kill through mantis and Luna with lots of character)or to make ur teammates ult more deadly, basically anything if ur with ur team
@@phantoomart699 his ultimate has no team saving capability. If you have a rocket on your team you are automatically at a disadvantage. Instead of having a counter ult to a dr.strange ult or even a Bucky ult or a storm ult you have nothing.

Your breakdown is amazing, really provides some powerful insight. And doing all this while dominating gameplay-wise! Way to go mL

@@madsaltyskills as he should be.. I hate if my supports are running a 2 sup with one rocket. I die 9 times out of 10 while being healed by rocket.
1. use vertically upward, memories the map of where to run and crawl, direct the camera to your opponent to have a better grasp of the situation is much better than just run
2. if you confident in your tracking and shooting ability, turn off the auto reload, but considering you on controller, it's already hard enough to shoot so turn on the auto reload and try to track the healing bullet count more
tips: rocket's model is very small, small enough for bullet to hit the ledge instead of over the ledge but thanks to that some of the spot are high enough that only you can hide in
if i remember correctly in the wakanda map, there's a super tall ledge on the middle building that was having bushes, i used to hide there, even the iron man and spider-man couldn't see me
they nerf that spot though, they remove the bushes but there're still many places rocket can hide, try to find them around the map
Ive been screaming into the void that rocket is a flanker that heals but nobody will listen
Rocket is the absolute best support in the game up until Grandmaster. The community is just WRONG. He has the _highest win rate_ out of all the supports in the game. As long as he stays alive - the game is essentially a 7-6. He has the most versatile healing in the entire game, and can get away from the back line divers and survive with his double boosters.
let em sleep. I love when i can abuse a character through elo that everyone thinks is trash
@@THiZZyMcGUiRE fr….
I'd actually love an in-depth guide on Rocket's playstyle ML, I love playing him and would like to learn the high-level thought process for him :)
The only thing bad about rocket is the huge hit box of his tail. I always die from shot didn't hit me on the kill cam
Lmao whenever a groot tries to block me off from my team as rocket and I don’t have time to melt his walls with my gun, I just wall crawl over them and bam groot just wasted his time setting up a wall I can just scramble over.
Using rocket I actually managed to do a pacifist run ina hero shooter game, I manage to win 2 ranked with 0 final hit, 0 damage dealt, 0% accuracy...
@@xdikasx2369 so... mercy?
Everyone is "brokdn" when they have a premade team on voice-chat. Now try that on Quick Play with a bunch of randoms.
no way u just said quickplay LMAO hes solo qing ranked
Wait did you say Rocket's Ult buffs healing too? I thought it was just dmg for the team?
I’m happy to see you understand
he's flarking helpful now
So you say it’s a good thing that the enemy is splitting attention when shooting rocket while on the sides. What is your opinion of say a Spider-Man, or black panther chasing rocket trying to secure the kill. Is that the same thing or is the time you spent running and not healing more detrimental than one of the enemies dive characters not being in the fight?
A good rocket will just heal while keeping the attention of the diver like if a panther jumps on you then you can climb heal as you leave the wall heal again before starting the climb again healing after dashing etc. even in higher ranks people will tunnel vision you I had a game yesterday in gm1 where an iron fist came for me the entire game I just sat high ground meaning he had to use his kick to get to me then I’d jump off high ground he’d follow then I’d just dash straight up so he can’t lock on to me landing back on high ground then he wouldn’t be able to get to me for 10 or so seconds while his kick was on cooldown since his wall run has to be to the side and he can’t go straight up leaving him stuck in my team and just getting killed
its a shame this game doesnt have custom games like ow I would love to make rocket parkour maps
only problem is he doesn't have burst healing , so people im trying to heal in a battle couldn't sustain
His burst healing is reviving a tank on a 45sec cool down
He needs some love to his kit but he is so much fun either way.
@@pwntwny honestly I disagree. Imo if they nerfed the OP support ults rocket would be great
Rocket is great but his ult just cant compete with Luna, Mantis, Invis woman, cloak and dagger ults
If I choose raccoon, my teammates will insult me😩😩😂

I like how ML7 saw the rocket drama n dropped this vid 😂😂 Let’s b honest bro can make any supp look good.
Rocket Raccoon's left click is criminally bad.
I use it purely to kill objects and shields, the spread and falloff make it utterly garbage against anyone not point blank.
small hit box, super mobile , and can wall climp. yea the higher you go racoon player never die
I get screamed at if there are no punisher or winter soldier on RR. and get absolutely flamed on and get blamed on why we lost. It's a joke lol. JUSTICE FOR RR!
its broken until u play against luna with 11 ults per game
And what about jeff ? Did you think we can make him broken or not ? I'm diamond 3 i want to play him but i don't know if this is good or not.
I hate the muzzle flash on Rocket's gun, shit is distracting. Even when you're hitting targets it looks like tracers are going everywhere except where you're aiming. Muzzle flash and tracer color should be different on all skins.
wait ppl really think rocket is the worst supp in the comments? Thats interesting and definitely not what i would expect, hes obviously not like an s tier pick but hes still really good
I hate getting blamed for selling the game because I’m playing rocket, especially when I do better than most of our team. It’s so bullshit.
I have a 74% winrate on rocket Season 0.. he's definately strong but i dont really like being a brainless healbot
what server are you playing to being just a "brainless healbot"?
"brainless healbot" can't out-run human flankers
give yourself and the rest of rocket main some respects
i heckin love the raccoon with a gun
I recently picked up Loki and found that he’s quite fun so I’ve wanted to try out other supports starting with rocket next… BUT I’ve been told that having a rocket on your team is a free loss💀 I guess not having a crazy support ult just makes him levels worse than every other healer or something like that but I still want to try him
This seems to b what ppl say.
During season 1 he has the 2nd highest winrate, sitting at about 54%. Maybe the community is just wrong :O
@@alexm.6557 free loss? That would be Jeff.
Rocket is goated.
@@ricardoricardoricardoricardo Jeff goated in low elo and quick play tho🙏
The thing is rocket is the least flashy support, he will win you game if ur consistent but nobody will notice it. It's kind of like saying janitors and plumbers are useless. Rocket himself will never make play and the advantage he gains for the team is gradual so when a team with rocket wins it's never because of rocket but when a team with rocket loses its rocket's fault. Just like you don't notice a good plumber or janitor unless you yourself play rocket you don't notice the rocket providing all the better number
Dont listen to shtters who crutch on 15 second invincibility buttons lol

Normalize selling games when someone picks rocket lol.
@@LaKartier whut
Either for a push or to cancel a defensive ult (rocket ult dmg boost can kill through mantis and Luna with lots of character)or to make ur teammates ult more deadly, basically anything if ur with ur team
@@phantoomart699 his ultimate has no team saving capability. If you have a rocket on your team you are automatically at a disadvantage. Instead of having a counter ult to a dr.strange ult or even a Bucky ult or a storm ult you have nothing.
I easily get 20k heals w this foo every game
I miss that Ana gameplay 🥲
8:10 raccoon sense
Is it normal to have under 10% accuracy as rocket?
I'm usually at around 30% I assume it's because the healing orbs constantly bounce all over when not healing causing it to go down
@@Alt0001 make sense yeah, also he doesn’t do alot of damage in long range fights
this dude is booger sugered out his mind in the first game. Hilarious
yo cat got new glasses?
This character has no dowsides. I'm doing great with it.
His downside is not having a defensive ult. Having only 1 counter ult on your team vs enemy team with luna+CD or mantis with two defensive ult is giving your team a big disadvantage. Raccoon is not bad, but hes definitely not a character without a downside.
@ My dude it seems you are relying on a crutch.
Okay, still doesn't change the fact that your statement is wrong.
anyone who says raccoon is useless are noobs
Everyone who argue in favour of RR on my games don’t get nearly this amount of healing and in the replay it seems they unbind right click.
they are all speaking XQC
Rocket just ain’t it in a 2 healer comp. I don’t think he needs much at all, it’s just other healers are too op. I would maybe like to see Rocket gun more consistent at range.
I love playing him but i feel im just right clicking the whole game
Well fun fact, rocket’s healing orbs don’t stack. So spamming heals actually doesn’t do anything

If you get a Rocket request a Namor, Magneto, or Moon Knight and try to tell them to use their ult when they know those characters have their and the enemy team uses one of theirs. The boost will practically make it a guaranteed OHKO on whatever support Ult they have I believe (not sure about Sue)
If rocket had more damage or at least more ammo he'd be at least a dps support like adam warlock. Now he provides nothing but heal and run away
He does good damage the problem is that he has fall off if you’re too far.
@@grape_nation that's why he's suck at dealing damage, his bullet might fly slower than spider-man as well
his damage output is just sucks
heal, rezzes, baiting flankers and power boost ult available very very often. If needed, you can also melt tanks and flankers at melee range if you get jumped and have good tracking, so the DPS isn't that bad, but with rocket you should rarely use it.
Every time I play with a rocket healer I lose.. I prefer any other healer besides him, it just never works out, his heals are way too slow and if he gets focused then you really not about to get any heals. Just a really underwhelming healer, please stop selling in ranked with this character..
