    I want to apologize in advance for being long. It is essentially a very long THANK YOU! I don't want to get "spooky spiritual", but I will share my thoughts anyway. I am not sure what gave you the initial thought to say "I will make tutorials", but I truly believe it was directly from God. I am a 56 year old competent guitar player and bass player. I have a decent understanding of computer systems although I am more of a PC guy. I have played Christian music, as it is my ministry, for the majority of my life. I moved to upstate NY and became affiliated with a ministry in this area, where I have become the "ipso facto" sound man. We had an Allen Heath analog board that was already installed when the newer church was purchased. We are in what use to be a school auditorium/gym essentially. I "know-ish" sound concepts, from my years of experience and necessity, (Gate and Compression not so much) and I record using PRO-TOOLS for putting down my song ideas. Not really for mass consumption. The way my church is situated, we have expanded the sound system with new hanging cluster speakers (not my first choice from my background musically), The sound board was in the balcony. I would have to run from downstairs to upstairs, to fix sound problems that were not readily understandable by well meaning volunteers. (You would think I would be skinny after all that cardio.) I also am the guy to try and help keep costs down, and try to assist the pastor and trustee board to keep systems in place as best we can until it was really needed. About three weeks ago, our board blew on the right side (two 12 channel boards were serial bussed together. I had to set it up during a Sunday service to get sound). Our church then invested in the Mackie DL32S.
    I gave you all this background to tell you how amazing you are. My situation is absolutely what your videos address. We have a smaller band, but essentially a similar situation apparently. I am even now a little nervous, because I have yet to sit down and "play" with the system. I thank God for you being obedient to His Spirit, and putting up these videos. I felt like you made them for me. Where I use to go up to the board and immediately lower aux sends and such, I now have to pause and think a second. However, your videos have made this immediate transition less daunting. God bless you brother, I pray your strength in God, always stay encouraged, and know that what you have done here, has absolutely been a blessing to the Body of Christ in particular, and to every sound person, or people who have been thrust into that capacity beyond your imagination.
    I would be honored to speak with you in person somehow. However I want to keep our privacy. Please let me know the best way that this could happen, if it is something that you would not mind.
    It is Sunday morning now, I'm leaving my night job to go to church and do sound. Thanks to you, I don't have to bring along my asthma pump because of anxiety :-) (only kidding sorta)
    Sorry for the lengthy comment, but I did apologize. :-)
    Thank you, God bless you again.

    Dude, your tutorials are so helpful. You are great at explaining and simplifying all the complicated aspects of this Mackie platform. I’ve only watched a few of these videos so far and you’ve already walked me through a majority of my troubleshooting concerns. I only have one question left that I haven’t yet seen you breakdown (not sure if you did in another video or not). Is it possible to control the monitor EQ settings separate from the FOH/Main EQ? A yes or no would be AWESOME! 😎👏🏻

      Hi Clay, thank you for your time watching! I think the meaning of life is to share as much as you know, as often as you can, with as many people as you can... :) anyway if you go to about twenty minutes into the video about EQ I explain changing EQ in monitor mixes, this link should take you to the exact point in the video. Have a great year and never hesitate to email or ask questions, always glad to help! www.kurysound.com

      Clay Coley Absolutely! I was pulling my hair out and he just calmed me down and hooked it up - AND he sounds like Burl Ives - that calming voice is like a storyteller!

    your videos are SO helpful! can wireless ear buds be used for individual monitor?

  • @lovedrumming
    @lovedrumming 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi , I learn a lot from you, thank you so much for record this video. But I have a question about setup individual monitor for musician , can I use the aux out straight to in ear monitor or I should have another mix to receive signal from the Makei mix?

    • @user-jx3jp3gb4x
      @user-jx3jp3gb4x  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for visiting :) Yes, you can connect the XLR output for the Mackie DL mixer directly to the IEM transmitter's inputs. You can link two Aux outputs to create a stereo mix if you like, just make sure that you use an odd/even numbered pair of outputs like... 3/4 or 5/6 etc. There is some great detailed info about this very thing in the tutorial I made here... th-cam.com/video/SYR1eGEzG0g/w-d-xo.html, don't hesitate to ask more questions if you need help,,, :) Dan, or you can always contact me through my website... www.kurysound.com

      HI Julie, when the mute button is red the audio is muted. Have a great day!!!!
