  • ATTENTION: This channel is for learning and educational purposes. Learning and education are fundamental and important in today's society and becoming increasingly more accessible and convenient online. The availability of important information which is also entertaining helps everyone grow mentally and emotionally as people, both individually and as a whole.
This thought-provoking documentary tells the story of a British man Alex Skeel, who survived an abusive relationship with his girlfriend, and leads to a wider discussion of masculinity, the complex nature of relationships, and stereotypes about abuse and domestic violence.
The film dives into the relationship Skeel had with his then-girlfriend Jordan Worth through interviews with Skeel and his family and friends. It paints a picture of an average man who for years endured a form of unthinkable, raw violence, both physical and mental, that is infrequently told from a male victim point of view. It demonstrates how Skeel's livelihood was slowly slipping away and how even family and friends had no idea what was happening.
The documentary portrays a teenage romance that slowly warped into something else entirely, using police testimony to showcase Skeel's suffering from one of the most severe domestic violence cases the police department had ever seen. By sharing his story, Skeel hopes to challenge assumptions about violence and masculinity in relationships, and to empower victims of domestic violence to come forward.
In April 2018, Jordan Worth was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. She became the first female in the UK to be convicted of coercive and controlling behavior. As of 2022, Worth was released from prison. PLEASE LIKE, SHARE AND COMMENT.

This brought me to tears when I saw that Jordan was the first woman ever sentenced on those charges. Are we all blind? There are many men who are abused. We need to help them to seek justice. Please guys, if you are being abused, reach out to someone you trust. Insist that your voice be heard by the authorities.

I'll never get the footage of the women literally sitting in bed beating socking . Hitting herself with things. if yer male the odds are stacked against you to a ridiculous degree. the cops rarely ever believe you (and all the female has to do is turn on the waterworks and claim he abused her) and plus the justice system in general will treat her with kid gloves simply because she's a girl and when it's her word against a guy's word vast majority will believe her and she knows that. even AMBER HEARD told JOHNNY DEPP "yer a man i'm a woman nobody's ever gonna believe you".

So glad he managed to escape alive and has his babies and loving family around him. Feminists created a world where women can murder men without facing consequences. THAT is the source of her entitlement. Cops always believe women and punish innocent men. I am starting to see more man-hating women falsely accusing male cops. Maybe cops need to experience what ordinary men go through at the hands of violent women. Perhaps this will help cops sympathize with male victims.

She said stuff like 'I did it because I could', and when I confronted her for being abusive, she said, 'Just because something is true, doesn't mean you should say it'. Some people literally just don't care (she literally googled whether she was a sociopath), and for me (a non sociopath), it has genuinely left me with severe nightmares and trust issues. I think this poor guy fell into the trap that I and so many abused partners do, which is to assume that our partner can't be as heartless and cruel as they are. So, we rationalise their abuse and take responsibility for things that we shouldn't

      @ScatteredPanda6453 ปีที่แล้ว +58

@@pinkpugginz I know it can be difficult to understand but there can be multiple reasons. 1. When an abuser abuses, they periodically show you love and kindness (false hope really) and you desperately await the return of that. 2) Fear. 3) R*pe and there is more reasons. Getting out of an abusive and violent relationship is one of the most difficult things a person can do. The amount of control and brain washing that goes into it, they literally change the way you think, the way you see yourself, they make you lose touch with reality, they give you fears you never knew you could have and at the same time they're pretending to love you, occasionally love bombing you too keep you going so they can abuse you more. They strip away your confidence, your identity, your sanity, they make you question your reality. Eventually your just a shell of the person you use to be and you give up. It becomes either you do as you're told or you get hurt, but even then, they will find any reason to abuse you, you could drop a spoon n that's it, then it becomes random, it's not even about you anymore, it's anything at all and you find yourself constantly waiting for the next attack. Other than this, another reason to stay is that so many people have been killed trying to leave abusive relationships and that is a very well known fact. Leaving is of the scariest and hardest things in the world. Also a fact. I hope this helps to answer your question.

This is such a disturbing experience that he had to live through. She is one very sick person. I’m scared for the public when she is released. I doubt she will lose these behaviors because of some prison time. She starved, stabbed, threw boiling water and isolated this man while her 2 babies witnessed it all. I’m glad he is safe now and pray he heals emotionally and spiritually.

She only served 4 years and was released from prison in 2022! She got engaged to some bricklayer in 2023 and apparently ran a marathon to raise money for women affected by domestic violence - the sick irony. I'm sure the evil hyena did this as a joke and equally twisted people actually donated money for her "cause". Talk about a sadistic way to spit in the face of everyone who's been abused. This is what she wrote on her fundraising page:
      "My Story
The Centre For Women's Justice are my legal team who have supported me personally over the last few years and are continuing to do so. They are experts in their field, and support female offenders who have been subject to male violence and historical domestic abuse. They provide legal advice, assistance with public inquiries, inquests and legal challenges. They ensure access to justice for female victims of male violence who find themselves in the criminal justice system due to resisting or retaliating to abuse.
My case was complex and complicated but CWJ gave me the time effort and energy to understand my case and support me! Please sponsor me to run the London marathon to help raise money for them!!!!"

I can’t forget the feeling of sitting in the car with my mum, the sun, in an outfit i wanted to wear. it’s hard to overcome, but now i’m in the most loving, safe relationship

  • @kelly73
    @kelly73 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

This was a VERY IMPORTANT STORY TO BE TOLD! So many men go through this and don't say a word out of fear of not being believed, being made fun of, shame, and isolation. The abuser has usually isolated this person, gas lighted this person to the point they are questioning their own sanity...harming their minds just as badly, if not worse, than they've harmed their bodies. This girl acts as though she doesn't know the magnitude of her actions or is playing a game to manipulate the situation. She plays the sweet quiet girl. I cannot say enough about the officer who helped Alex, was there for him, let him know he could and would help him. That kind of caring and compassion is necessary for these situations and i'm so happy this officer is the one who was there to help. I also wanted to comment on Alex's best friend who speaks throughout. This young man IS A TRUE FRIEND! Alex is lucky to have him and vice versa. Friendships like this don't come along often so when they do, hold onto them and cherish them. Such kind and caring young men.
Good for you Alex. You seem to be a wonderful father with 2 precious children. And now to be helping others...that is one of the best way to help yourself to heal and to be an amazing role model for your children. Bless you Alex and to anyone else who may be the 'silent survivor' of abuse of any kind, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. THERE IS A WAY OUT. TRUST YOURSELF AND THOSE WHO WANT TO HELP. Love yourself enough to demand respect and proper treatment and if you don't get it, LEAVE. People don't often change when it come to this type of behavior.

Thanks for your comment! Where is the father? I only saw a mom and a grandpa, in this story about Alex.
What I can see in these scenarios is young men who have no idea what masculinity is. If they knew how to be the “3 P’s” then they would not let their relationships get to that point. Men need to be manly, in their relationships, or their women take that roll and don’t know how to do it. It makes women crazier when their men don’t stop their crazy! If you love her then you won’t let her control you. Violence & Manipulation is never Love. The 3 P’s are: Protector, Provider, and Procreator. Alex needed the Public Authorities to finally be the protectors of that family. That’s terrible! Especially for the infant and toddler, who now have an incarcerated mother. Their troubles aren’t over. Alex’s mother doesn’t realize she treated him differently than his brother and sister. He was timid and insecure. Jordan, being a narcissist, took advantage of Alex’s weak personality. It’s just too bad that they became parents before they could fix their personality problems. The best solution for this family is for Jordan AND Alex to get psychiatric care and learn how to deal with adversity. They both have contributed to the demise of their family. I don’t know if Jordan can ever learn to feel empathy, but I’m certain Alex can learn how to be a real man. God allows bad things to happen because He doesn’t control us. If we pray, and ask Him for help, He will help 10 fold! My life is proof. I’m a stubborn woman, but I have a strong husband that loves me with the love of a protector. I thank God for him everyday.

As the daughter of an abusive mother, I appreciate that these stories are being told by men who are victims. My mother painted my father as the abuser (even blaming him for her abuse of my younger brother and I) when she was the abuser. Her abuse was mostly emotional, and I can remember my father crying and I was just a child and I was too afraid of her to go to him. Unfortunately my father mistakenly thought she would not abuse her children and since he was away a lot for work, he didn't witness it. The bullies at school were nothing compared to what we got at home. My parents split when I was ten. For years my mother poisoned my mind about my father and I didn't speak to him for years and only reunited with him and shared our stories when I was in my late 20s. Sadly he died within months. My mother is still alive decades later making everyone's life hell. You may say I don't have to be in touch with her, but try being a woman who doesn't speak to your mother and see how you get treated. People have sympathy for someone who had an abusive father, but an abusive mother - they think you are exaggerating or imagining it.

The only way to get out of it, is stopping relationships with the abuser. I feel so sorry that I didn’t do it earlier because my horrible abusive mother manipulated me times and times again into believing that she loves me. I would forgive her and open my heart again for her, and she would destroy me again. She would tell all relatives, friends and neighbors that I am a horrible person. She made it her mission in life. She isolated me with her relatives. My older brother, who was her favorite, doesn’t support me. She used to say to me that my brother was their love child, but she should have done an abortion with me. But I would rather not have any relationship with them than accept that I am not good enough and betray myself.
Yes, it is not easy, but it is the only way to survive. And this is what I suggest you do, SL Silver.

Because it's about power & control, not love. They have no idea what love is. But they will love bomb at the start with gifts, romantic gestures etc to get the victim where they want them quickly. Whirlwind romance & presenting an outwardly 'perfect' man/woman scenario is a classic abuser tactic. As soon as theyve got their victim where they want them the abuse kicks in.

All have done evil “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) The penalty for sin is hell (Revelation 21:8). Because of Gods love for us Jesus Christ came down from heaven to take the punishment for our sin on the cross in which he was spat on, beaten, mocked and laughed at.
Christ died for the sins of the world and The third day God raised him from the dead (Praise God). This was done so that those who believe on Christ will not perish (hell) but have life everlasting (heaven); be justified by Gods grace through redemption in Christ (John 3:16) (Romans 3:24)
The blood Jesus shed on the cross washes away our sin if we Believe in The Son of God and his finished work (ordained by God) on the cross. When this happens the believer receives the righteousness of Christ in place of their own unrighteousness (all sins are forgiven) and this makes them saved (going heaven) .and they are born again as a Christian. (Romans 3:25-26).

It is possible the abuser herself had this behaviour normalised for her at some point. They don't elaborate on her parents who, when briefly mentioned, did not seem to intervene when Alex was isolated from his support network.
Domestic Violence is often learned behaviour and is a "repeating cycle" of behaviours and abuse.

Thank you for so bravely sharing your story, Alex. It really shed a clear light on how female abusers can use all the same tools of power and control male male abusers do. She isolated you from friends and family. She controlled you financially, by making you quit your job and taking your wallet from you. She accused you of cheating and all sorts of things you never did. She drugged you. She used the children as a form of emotional extortion (as evidenced with questioning whether your mother wanted to meet her grandson or not... I can't imagine what other levels she went to), and it escalated to horrific physical abuse that could've killed you. You are not a victim; you're a survivor. I'm beyond grateful to know you're with your family and friends again, looking after your children, and she was held accountable. I pray you all heal from her torture, and that the children thrive with you in her absence.

I've called the police twice on a man and I had PHYSICAL evidence (black eye with a cut very close to my eye where he chucked a nightlight switch at my face, along with other misc things). When the police came, I was a mess, crying and not doing a good job at composing myself. The man who assaulted me was my husband and he told them that I had psychological issues and that I did it to myself. They believed him and they left without doing anything. If they would have done their job a bit they would have seen his felony domestic abuse charges from his X-wife... which she fought to bring down to a misdemeanor. Fast-forward 6 months, he broke my nose in 2 places and the ER doc begged me to let them call the police. I refused because what were they going to do? They've never done anything before and I did not want to lose my livelihood and everything as he would have taken everything from me and had the resources. The ER doc looked me in the eyes and said, "next time he will kill you." That's the 2nd ER doctor to tell me that. But... the police are utterly useless in my area.

I was in a coercive relationship for 19 years, I drove to suicide and in the end I'd had 4 hospital and psychiatric admissions because of her. I lost everything because of it. House, job, my daughters, my self esteem. She controlled everything from my finances, my medication, to telling me what I could wear and how to dress. She isolated me from my family, my social circle was nothing, I had no friends, and the thing was, she moved her father in to the house, and he is just as bad. Now.....I'm trying to move on, and it will take some time. I'm still on medication, and I still have to see the doctor for reviews every now and again. Her love was measured in how she could belittle me, manipulate me, hurt me. One one veteran friends notified the emergency services on the night I had planned to go away. If he hadn't stepped in, I probably wouldn't be here now. It wasn't until I was in hospital that the nursing staff showed me which path I should tread if I want to see my daughters grow up. That said, the path I had the courage to walk is now without her, sure she still has a level over control over me through my daughters, but I've woken up. Its a very surreal experience as a guy to be systematically abused over such a long period of time, but help is there, just have courage to talk to someone. It'll be hard, but, with the right support, you will find life again....

There was an experiment performed in public where a man (actor) was abusive to his gf (actress). As soon as he started yelling and she started to cower, the public intervened and offered her help, telling him to leave.
Part 2 of the experiment was role reversal. She became abusive to him. She was yelling, swearing, threatening, and then escalated to pushing and shoving. The public watched, most even laughed. No one thought that he was unsafe. Just because he was a man, and had a larger frame than her, everyone assumed she was harmless.
It was a sad reality. We need to change our way of thinking was abuse looks like, and what a perpetrator looks like.

This. 🎯😣 So many men are also in abusive relationships, and it's so much harder for many of them to get out - bc people don't take it as seriously. It's heartbreaking. I'm glad men are starting to share their experiences and raise awareness.

People assume men have the capability to walk away much easier then women. Women get trapped in more was than one. So there is a general assumption men will take care of themselves while women get trapped. So they need help even in abusive situation vs men its not even stature its self.

This is disgusting, but I still don't understand why a bigger person doesn't defend themselves.
I would rather commit seppuku than be treated like this.

@@rebeccahughes7766 yes this is very true. But if there are children involved, it is in fact much harder for men to leave, since the law is on the the mother's side (unless there is any concrete proof that the kids are in danger) ...things need to change!

True. Even lesbian relationships have highest abuse rate from all. It definitely shows that women can be THAT abusive, and it's not taken seriously. I highly doubt that many men aren't abused by their gfs/wives. I feel like it's concealed as if it's a open secret in their relationships. I was once in a party where a guy who got punched in his stomach by his gf then she walked away with pissed face. Afterwards, he seemed scared and little shaky although I asked him if he's okay. He ignored my question and switched to party mode. It's honestly bizarre to think about how much men go through that.

It's not unusual for there to be a female offender. It's just unusual for them to be charged.

Exactly. I’ve seen it numerous times! People just don’t take it as seriously as they should! And sadly that includes the guy taking the abuse too!
We need to raise our daughters just like we raise our sons when it comes to abuse.

It's not unusual for her to be charged, it's unheard of. It's unusual for anyone to care that a man is being abused.

Look at the statistics. Domestic violence is the leading cause of death for women under 35 in America. Men who are killed by women are a tiny fraction of the total number of men who get murdered. It's not a conspiracy against men that we don't treat the violence exactly the same. Men are much more dangerous to women (and to each other) than the other way around.

It's even more unusual that it comes into the light in the first place. Evil doesn't discriminate but there is a shame that men experience when abused by women.

Strong self esteem and a loving yourself first is the key to not letting yourself be abused. My first marriage was to a broken toxic women. As soon as we married she thought she could impose her will on me but found out I’m nice only until I’m mistreated. She raised her hand to me I warned her never again, she thought she could do it again but got back just as much as she gave. One day I said to myself enough. I sat her down and told her bye. She tried everything to get me back but I refuse to repeat mistakes. Life is great now I found the perfect person to spend my life with.
