After seeing the movie, I know its from a different continuity, but Megatron's line "we were brothers once" with Optimus replying "once", hits even deeper and holds more meaning now.
How does it being a different continuity affect it?

@@javiervasquez625 In G1 cartoon, Megatron just shot Orion Pax who's in his way which in turn Alpha Trion rebuilt Orion into Optimus Prime.

Orion Pax & Megatronus both wished to end corruption & bring equality to Cybertron, but were torn apart by their methods, Orion sought arbitration, believing peaceful reform was possible, but Megatronus (who shortened his name to Megatron) sought violent revolution, believing it to be the only course of action against Sentinel Prime’s corrupt government.
In some continuities (like the G1 cartoon) it was due to the Decepticons been part of the gladiatorial brand of Transformers created by the Quintessons while the Autobots were the factory worker brand.

The Transformers: Prime introduction narrated by Ratchet (Jeffrey Coombs) is still one of the best depictions of the origins of Orion Pax/Megatronus and how the two leaders came to be. It also sounds god tier epic and inspires hope when you hear the story. I hope Transformers One faithfully captures the awe, wisdom and cunning of how Optimus and Megatron came to be.

Please do an origin story on the Dinobots and the Beast Wars. Neither of which EVER get enough or even PROPER credit. Especially in the recent years, with Age of Extinction and Rise of the Beasts
I loved the movie, especially the “ u don’t have the touch, and certainly not the power” line
These two have the most iconic rivalry.
They have the most pointless rivalry no real back story, just stories thrown in the air by whoever decides to make a movie, carton etc.

Important to note that the Aerialbots were from the present day of the show , newly created and doubting the ideals of the autobots and if fighting was really right thing to do, somewhere they got sent to the past, met Orian Pax and Megatron there and only after witnessing those events they decided that the Autobots were doing the right thing and were loyal to the cause from there
All while causing a time paradox by been the ones responsible for creating Optimus Prime in the first place.
Friends becoming Bitter Enemies are becoming a real Tired Trope. Making them friends doesn't make this deep, they don't need to have a connection and it doesn't have to be a revenge tale

I grew up in the 80s; so, War Dawn is the official origin of Optimus Prime.
I don't want Prime and Megatron to be friends.
But like Godzilla, I have to accept there are different versions/incarnations, and they can be different, but still exist without forcing all of them to be in a single universe.

I think Transformers One is taking more from the IDW origin for Megatron with him and Orion being miners and part of Cybertron's lower class and mixing in a little from the Prime cartoon.

The transformers exodus novel goes into more detail on their origins, as its revealed that Alpha Trion was one of the 13 Original primes and he can glimpse into the future and the past. He petitioned for Orion and Megatron to meet with the high council and at the high council meeting, Megatron and Orion both give their excellent speeches to sway all who listened. Megatron killed the head of the council and declared war upon them once they had deemed Orion the next prime. After that it jumps to several battles of the war for cybertron and we get different perspectives from different characters on both sides. It's actually an excellent read. 😌👍

You guys showed some of the wrong versions of war for Cybertron and robots in disguise, which it’s understandable because those titles have been used for multiple different things in transformers media

Millennia doesn’t mean million it means 1,000. They fought for thousands of years not millions.
I didn't know about most of the facts mentioned in this about both Prime and Megatron. But, I enjoyed learning more about them and getting a bit of a refresher on the stuff that I already knew. Also, I'm not completely sure if I will watch Transformers One in theaters, but I plan on seeing it at some point.

The comic run which takes place within the IDW comic's IDW 1.0 universe, which is what the image you provided is of.
RID 2001, the dubbed version of the anime Car Robots.
And RID 2015, an extremely disappointing sequel to Prime that spits on it's grave.
There are also RID2015 comics and a RID2015 mobile game but nobody really cares about them.
