    can we take a moment to appreciate that drone shot, backwards under the bridge and then revealing the the car passing over, thats a very technical shot, well done. Also you got me missing tropical QLD over here.

    Welcome to Mackay guys, our weather is perfect atm. So beautiful up in the Valley, we are so lucky having lots of amazing natural locations. We have beautiful dog friendly beaches, a lovely Botanical Garden which is great to walk the dogs. Go up the mountain to Eungella and hopefully spy some platypus at Eungella, the views are amazing (I see you have already been corrected on pronunciation (:) ), definitely do the walk at Finch Hatten Gorge (without dogs), see the sun rise at Cape Hillsborough with the kangaroos on the beach, go up to Eimeo Pub on the hill overlooking the beach. Blacks Beach caravan Park is the pick to stay at right on a beautiful beach. There's a dog park at North Mackay, although as a local we have never used it as there are so many lovely places for the dogs to have a run.

      Ah thank you! Yeh we didn’t realise how much there was to do so close by, definitely would love to get to cape hillsborough at some point, maybe put the dogs into care for a couple of days so we can stay out there, same with Finch Hatton and Eungella.
      Will be spending a bit of time in Queensland going forward, so much to see, weve hardly scratched the surface

    Did you see any platypus? There are plenty in those creeks. But some leeches too unfortunately. Yes the water is quite cold in those streams. It comes from deep shade and pretty much stays in deep shade until it gets to the falls where it falls off the mountains onto the plains. Ah yes! Mackay still has that small town vibe. Some like it that way. My home town. 😊

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      No we didnt see any but having the dogs meant we didn’t spend too much time searching. Will hopefully return as we would love to hike through the gorge.
      It was definitely chilly but not as cold as we expected if that makes sense.
      Mackay is a nice place, we have enjoyed our times we have soent there and im sure there will be more to come

    I used to love that area when I lived in Australia. There are so many great spots.
    You two really do put up some good content. Thanks.
    I drove haul out tractors on the sugar cane in 1976 when living a bit further north at Homehill, another great area. 😊

    Great video Mark and Clem
    Q1 I’m thinking about doing a road trip from Western Australia to GoldCoast in a few years and i will be looking at going via South Australia, great ocean road, Victoria and New South Wales and what are the best places to stay at with dogs
    Q2 I will be looking at getting a Ford Territory TX TDCI AWD 5 Seater and will be looking at getting 2.5 Ton 20 foot Caravan with a 155kg towball mass to tow behind it and will be looking at fitting a Bullbar, Snorkel, Roof Rack, Awning, UHF & Clearview Towing Mirrors on to the Territory and will be carrying a 20 Litre Water Tank and maxtrax on the roof rack and the max gvm weight is 2635kg and the max gcm weight is 5250kg and the towing capacity is 2.7 Ton and I will be having 1 x choc lab and 2 x 60kg people in the car aswell along with 75 l of fuel do you think I will be overweight

    • @Ourwhittleadventure
      @Ourwhittleadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate,
      In regards to the best places to stay, theres honestly so much choice, wikicamps app will be your best friend.
      To be honest, i think you may struggle with your weights. Im not too familiar with the ford territory’s but i think they are about 500kg payload (no idea what rear axle rating is) with that size van, realistically the towball weight will be more likely excess of 200kg, 155kg would be more likely when it is empty.
      So with 200kg now gone from payload, 2x60kg passengers is another 120kg gone.
      So now down 320kg.
      If you opt for aluminium bullbar and roofrack etc you may be able to stay within your weights. Weights add up really quickly. Like ive said before, a professional weighing service is your best bet.
