According to the judges they were so mesmerized and hypnotized by her song that they almost forgot to push the buzzers until the end. Great reaction by the way. And yes, that was Mama.
Almost to a person, the judges have indicated that they deferred their buzzers in respect for the art being created on the stage. Diana was 14 here.

Pretty sure the judges are following a precedent set by Igor Krutoy in the performance of Wicked Game. He didn't like how loud the buzzer noise is, so he waited for a break in the performance in order to avoid interupting the performer as much as possible. The other judges then followed this example for the rest of the season as far as I can tell.

There is one more moment. In her first performance at this competition with the song "The Last Dance", Diana raised the bar so high that she left all the other participants far behind. This first performance instantly gained tens of millions of views on TH-cam. With each new performance, she raised the bar higher and higher, and the judges were so impressed that sometimes they pressed the button at the very last moment.
At the age of 19, Diana has won almost all song contests in the Russian Federation and abroad. At the age of 13, she participated in the Voice contest, where none of the judges turned to her. The audience gave her a standing ovation for 5 minutes. It was a huge performance and an equally huge judging scandal.

The judges were so caught up in the performance that they forgot to hit their buzzers and panicked when the thought the song was over...lol. Diana can yodel as she did in this song. You should react to her performance of Yodel Time when she appeared on the Russian version of The Voice Kids at 13 yrs old.
Diana had a tough childhood, but thanks to her foster loving mother Irina Ponik ( you can see her in the video, woman in the glasses) everything has changed for the better 💗 so she can translate the soul of the song 🎵 and we can get all wonderful emotions!

She was asked to sing a song in Russian after her previous 2 were in English and French. I don't think they expected her to summon the very spirit of Old Russia onto the stage. I rate this as a world class performance. And I am fussy. 🙂

In another performance with different judges, three of them pressed the buzzer right away. The older man who didn’t received derogatory comments from reactors. He pressed the buzzer when there was a break in the song. It was pointed out by a commentator that this judge was showing respect by not interrupting the performance and directing distracting attention to him. He waited out of respect for Diana and her performance. Perhaps, in today’s performance these younger judges were showing the same respect and waited for the break in the song.
By the way, the older judge has mentored Dimash and Diana and sometimes plays piano for them.
Also, it is rumoured that he financed an apartment for Diana so she could be closer to her music teachers and or studio.
And that was the famous Igor Krutoy.

Axel, the judge you're referring to is Igor Krutoy. However, the song, in which, he waited for a break was "Wicked Game" from her performance on "You Are Super" in 2019. "Rechenka" was performed, on the same show, in 2018. "Wicked Game" was the penultimate song she sang on "You Are Super". The last "Human", did not require the judges to press the buzzer.
With regard to the apartment, it's not a rumour, he provided it so that Diana could study in Moscow - she still lives there.

One thing you are not is speechless!!! One of my favorites by the "Queen of Goosebumps" is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" th-cam.com/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/w-d-xo.html. It's about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.

This song is about an orphan who is about to get married and goes to the river to talk to her parents and ask for their blessing. The river is the connection to the world of the dead. The celebration can be heard in the background. That's the swinging part of the music. You know that Diana was in an orphanage. It seems to be her song. Hence all the emotions she expresses admirably here.
Diana's acting, the scenery, the dancers. This is musical theatre - at its best. (Diana was 14 yo)
A singing teacher once commented on this song that if he wrote down all the singing techniques Diana uses here, he would have a list of all the singing techniques.
You were so excited about the song Revelation. Yes, the lyrics and music go well together here. Even if Diana doesn't show her entire range, it's excellently sung.

There was a new TV show in Russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion.

Yes, this performance by Diana (aka The Queen of Goosebumps) is a bomb. I kind of lost my speech when I heard this song for the first time. The effect was so intense, so mind-blowing. "Rechen'ka" (Реченька) may be translated into English as "little river". You are right, Diana's adoptive mother by the name of Irina was briefly shown in the video. If I'm not mistaken, Diana was 14 yo during this performance. As for the other performances of this Russian folk song - I know only one made by Alla Pugachova many years ago, who was (and probably still is) a heavyweight of the Soviet and Russian musical scene. I think that you are seeing just how much of an empath that Diana is in this performance it is why she feels the music on another level and to think sheis only 14 in this perfomance but it has been there since she started singing case in point look up her cover of the beatles "Oh Darling" she was either 7 or 10 in that one and it will make you see it has always been with her.
I love your enthusiasm! Interesting backstory ... This was Diana's first year in the singing competition You Are Super. She first sang Deniere Danse in French and then It's A Man's World in English. She was advised to sing a Russian song next, and this is what she came up with!

Can't help falling in Love
Hi Rosalie. I appreciate your reactions are not shallow and how you engage with the song and Diana and her background as parts of the whole package. How ironic is it that she was so tragically unloved by the one who should love her most and now MILLIONS of all ages, races and cultures all over the world love her dearly. Diana's 'fans' don't merely have star-struck adulation - we genuinely love her and engage with her on a deep emotional/spiritual level. Why is this I wonder. The same can be said of Dimash. They are both gifted with a great instrument and crafted their talent through diligence from childhood, but there is an "X" factor with Dimash and Diana that sets them apart and my theory is that it is the innate purity of their spirit that takes us up and out of the ordinary. I have actively enjoyed great music my entire life but have NEVER been impacted in the way I have been with these two superstars. Here is another performance of Rechenka in a small intimate setting with a kind of 'unplugged' vibe to it. I love both versions but it is nice not have all the TV Show trappings. Diana Ankudinova was 14 years old when this performance took place during the 2018 season of a talent show for disadvantaged teens called “You Are Super” which she ended up winning. Diana Ankudinova is showing the early stages of her contralto sound. A contralto is a very rare female voice type, especially in someone so young. The quality of Diana's sound defines her as a "dramatic contralto" in the making, which as your audience may or may not know, a dramatic contralto is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types, and for someone as young as Diana to already demonstrate these abilities is extraordinary!
Diana herself has said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range because and has said it was a part of her sound that needed more development because it was not where she thought it should be. Over the next 4 years with help from her vocal coach and a ton of practice she really really did improve her upper range which can be heard when you listen to her cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis Presley.
Diana is also a polyphonic singer which in itself is an extremely rare talent for someone so young to have mastered. Again, in case some of your audience doesn't know, polyphonic singing is a vocal technique that creates two, and sometimes three different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones and can make it sound like two different voices are singing at the same time.
This polyphonic sound is why some people think Diana is using a vo-coder, voice synthesizer, pitch correction software, or there's another voice singing off to the side of the stage, or she is lip-syncing over a prerecorded track. No electronic voice manipulation of Diana's voice is happening at all. What you are hearing is really all Diana Ankudinova.

This song is about a girl in her wedding day. She is sad because she has no father or mother to bless her in such a day so she goes to sit by a little river to ask its blessings instead as water sources and water flows had magics and powers. Based in a prechristian pray to the forces of nature it trascends bounsaries as it is related to Tengrism and other animistic religions that is still practised in some places in the old Turan.
The grunting voice could be the forces and spirits of nature talking. If you watch the movie "The Northman" you´ll watch a scene with something alike.

She said in a video interview with an American TH-camr that she goes into alternate state of mind when she performs on stage. It's true that she is not acting but experiencing and feeling the songs that she sings. She said there is no conscious effort it just comes naturally to her. She can easily transition into the fantasy world of the song. They say that abused children like Diana survive abuse by retreating into a fantasy world. So it's probably something she learned to do unconsciously when she was a child. They say we are the sum of our life experiences and Diana had some rough ones as a child.

in my opinion, judges buzz all at the same time because they were hypnotized by Diana's performance. When she stops yodeling, it looks like the song"s end and they woke up from the dream. Diana is so much in her character than she didn't even noticed and keep on singing like nothing happened.

This is one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. She's channeling an ancient shamanic ritual in this most artificed of 21st C settings; a pop TV singing contest...and the power comes through. Incroyable!
My top 3 favorite artist are Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, and Angelina Jordan (Norway). They all are unique and special in there own way. Angelina won Norways Got Talent at age 7/8. She is definitely a very old soul. Definitely someone you don't want to miss out on. I would start at the beginning (Norways Got Talent) then I Put a Spell on You (age 9). This to me was 1 of my favorites by her and yes it sounds tribal
For me Rechenka is not only a singing performance but also a full set of complete performance there. The perfomance that touch our ancestral collective memories. There is a kind of ritual and also a storytelling. Here you can find a bunch of dificult voice techniques from flip to yodeling. Diana's Can't Help Falling In Love With You is very powerful reharmonisation of the song but not as deep as Rechenka. Personally I also love her "Fastidious Horses". It is not quite popular among the reactors but we can find Diana's achievement in storytelling there, similar with Angelina Jordan's Song for A. A highest performance of Angelina Jordan in music I think.

This song is very ancient, pagan, adapted to the modern Russian language. This is a crying song, it is about the fact that an orphan girl is given in marriage, but there is no father and mother to bless her. And there is no joy in marrying an unlovable one. Recently, Diana has been performing this song at acopello concerts. My wife and I were at Diana's concert, my wife had never heard her before. Before the concert, my wife had a headache, she refused to drink pills. I knew that Diana performed the acopello "River" in her singing song at concerts, and I was afraid that my wife's head would hurt even more, but from the first sounds of Diana's voice, the pain in her beloved's head disappeared. She really enjoyed the concert!
