- Still waiting on the wheel wideners to run the Monster Claws but I was finally able to get the WFO motor mount and Hobbywing 1100kv installed. Now if it would just stop snowing.

I'm seriously jealous of you right now. Its cold here but we have no snow here. Remember those XMAXX tires and monster claws are directionals so if you flip them around it gives you better grip and better traction!

Yaaay. Welcome to the Xmaxx big block! Hehe. I love my big block xmaxx trucks. They do break more because they jump way higher and longer than stock and they are insanely FAST. I went with all WFO stuff on one of mine. 25/35 gearing, Max 5 and 1100kv 5687 motor. I also put the WFO sleeves on my drive cups because they were busting easily with that extra power 👍

@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs Check out Exocaged for what gearing he is using on his truck with mod 1 gears. I believe he uses a 40t pinion and a 54t spur. His is very fast too like mine. Good luck bud 👍. Oh yeah, you run those big tires. I run DuraTrax lockup x 24mm tires on one of my big block xmaxx trucks and the other big block xmaxx is running the proline badlands 4.3.

They are sweet tires! You guys should check out my Xmaxx tire set up im the first one to do this that i know of. I have 1/5 wheel adapters w/ Baja 5B rear paddles and Baja 5B front ICE Spikes with Rcmax billet beadlocks all around! Makes the Xmaxx look INSANLY agressive looking so sick! Its on my channel w/ a bunch of other crazy world first parts,engines and builds! 🤙👍
Great motor choice! I honestly think the max6 and 1100kv HW are the best for that truck. Like you said on video. It keeps the center of gravity lower. I did switch to mod 1.5 gears though. Using WFO there too. Good fans on the electronics and it never overheats like people told me it would. Glad to see someone else banging that combo!!
I had a Mac 6 on my 1100 KV in my xmax and it smoked the Max 6 overheated it and smoke show I now run a Max 5 with the wfo relocator so it sits down low still with 1100 KV and thinking about switching to the wfo gears but yeah Max 6 or 1100 KV definitely overheat the ESC I'm sure you could have geared it down I guess but I only had 29 50 gearing so it wasn't out of control or at least I don't think that's out of control I guess but either way just a heads up with the Max 6 I had to go to Max 5 because I smoked mine

I have the same xmaxx Man yours looks good! First upgrades are gonna be tierods aluminum traxxas ones like u have they look awesome and then steering parts rear cush drive cover! Probably gonna steal your color scheme! I have a blacked out stock body i painted up and it looks awesome

Jason P, Shit I could of told you that, just go to Sears or Lowe’s and by a 7mm open end/ box wrench or go to any of your auto parts stores they sell single 7mm wrenches you don’t need to buy a whole wrench set just to get a 7mm out of it.

Hey Jason, awesome setup. I'm waiting for my mount in the mail and also planning on keeping mod 1 gears for now. Do you reckon there is enough room below the motor to run a 23T pinion with the 54T spur?

so, with this set up what gear your running on your spur and pinion? thank you much, i think i will go with this set up. to MUCH POWER is not really for this truck i think. i mean this truck is mainly made for jumps and bashing not racing on a track, that's just me tho. thank you for the clear explanation on this vid.
I’m having the same problem man. I’ve been upgrading my XMaxx and just finished a limitless build for speed runs. But it’s been steady snowing nonstop.
I know it sucks. I just want my first run to be fun and spinning the whole time is only fun for so long.

2 questions.
One - how do you like the six packs? Have they held up well?
Two - does the stock wheel hex last on the six pack rims since the rim is a standard hex while the x maxx stock has cuts to lock in to the stock rims? Also did you need to change your factory wheel nuts to be larger diameter for more rim contact or was that a preference?

Any issues and negative changes you noticed when you put in aluminum bell crank set and brace? What brand? Was thinking of doing this too but concerned how stiff it might be. Did you do aluminum steering horn too?

Hey Josh, I was curious as to what pinion and spur you are running for this new set up. I am considering upgrading to the 1100kv motor but am unsure if any pinions work with the stock spur. Thanks if you get this.

FYI the 1100kv is a 200a motor you need a Max5 or XLX2
you can run her on the Max6 but you're not getting the full potential out of the motor
& I'd want with the 800kv & Max5 but that's me
That's exactly what I have Max5 with the 800Kv motor 35/30 mod 1.5 gearing. A pure beast. This setup seems to give the best all around performance. That's me.
The motor will defiantly benefit from a larger esc. I know. But I am going to start off with the max 6. I may swap in the MM8S and compare at some point.

I am using a 29t/50 to start with. Not a lot of info on running the 1100kv. Lots on the 800kv though. So this is going to being trail and error.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs I'm still running the stock 6s 1600kv motor with 20/50 gearing. Very interested to see what your upgrade does. The 1600kv motor is pretty nuts already 🤣
Has anyone had any problems with the input shafts for the crush drive being bent ( not true ) I just got 2 x maxx truck and both trucks input cush shafts are bent causing gear that turns the diff to bind really bad making tires to locking If I push it forward. When I remove motor it still locks but if I remove the input cush shaft it rolls really nice if I put the cush shaft back in place and hold it down by both of the bearings I can feel the rear bearing lifting up and down ever so slightly
Mate, ¿do you run MOD 1 gears?, good stuff you have, WFO mades outstanding parts, I have a belt drive system from them, works very smooth.

I have the same motor, same ESC and same fan shroud as you, but cant get my shroud to fit. I see it looks like you run your motor wires under the shroud, do you have any photos or anything that shows how you did that?
What is your gearing? Do your motor or esc over heat?
How did you run the motor wires to be able to run castle fan? Mine are in the way and it wont fit
So I have heard with that WFO mount the pinion cover doesn't fit. Does yours fit?
Awesome brother! Thats a sick motor! Been thinking about getting a new setup for mt Xmaxx but i just did a Hobbywing max-5 and 960kv motor in one of my KM Baja 5B's it rips! Also i have 1/5 wheels on my Xmaxx paddels rear and ice spikes front woth Rcmax beadlocks all around its the meanest looking Xmaxx ive ever seen as well as havnt seen anyone yet try my nee combination of wheels n tires they are epic for the snow have a vid on my channel if you have time to check it out! What size spare and pinion did you use?

So, did you change your gearing with the new motor,Or did you keep it at 20/50??? I'm getting an xmaxx soon and I'm trying to figure out the right gearing for it without it over heating.
I did change to a 29t for this motor. Still have the 50t spur.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs OK, I heard that the 1100kv motor would put a lil stress on the max 6esc. But I see you using it in your truck, and I know you know almost everything there is to know about rc's. I'm trying to learn about the whole motor esc combo to gear ratio. I want to put the 1650kv motor in my xmaxx layer on down the road. Would I still be able to run the 20/50 gearing with no heat issues???
@@deepvoice2652 Well I haven’t ran it yet. And being that it’s winter here right now I have the temps on my side. But once summer hits and temps go up I may have to change things up a little.

I'm running 32 pinion/50,spur with the max6 1100kv combo, Louise X uphill wheels and tyres ( I think they're the same as your Duratrax), stock fans, and I'm not having any overheating problems, but I am in the UK, and it's never very warm.
I've stopped using mod 1.5 gears as I kept breaking diff ring gears, I think the cush drive gives that little bit of shock absorption that you need.
I need those wheels asap... where do I go

Dope build is that a max6?
At the time it was a max6. I switched to the Firma 160 and have had better luck with it over the Max6. Only difference is the cap pack and a software update. I always thought of them as the same esc.

Nice x-maxx! I've never had an issue with the stock motor mount, might be due to I'm not adjusting it much maybe. I do use the aluminium washers though.

Wfo all around garbage. Gears didn't last 10 minutes under light use. Tried multiple attempts over a month to resolve. No response yet. I have over 30 years of rc experience never seen gears fail like this. Always wanted to support American economy but these folks suck..
What wheel Nuts are those the stock ones keep loosening up with these tires on mine
Search 24mm X-maxx on ebay and you'll find them. They are not a direct replacement for the stock nuts. These are for using 1/5 wheels.
