Thank you for watching! I loved sitting down and recording this video so I'm going to record more sat down style videos like this discussing how we're going to grow Gymshark and also try to relate it to how what I'm going through can hopefully help anyone watching this with their own business! If you have any questions or suggestions please comment below! :)
Thanks for putting these videos out Ben. Its great to see the love you have for both the business as a whole and the family within it. I'm looking forward to the future.
Ben Francis you’ve got these videos on lock brother. So inspiring to hear from someone with such similar passion for business and innovation - big things coming from GymShark 🤙🏼
Great to watch mate! This direction of a more value driven channel (rather than the usual ego driven vlogs out there) is really great to see. If you could continue on these business insights i'm sure many people would find it incredibly helpful and inspiring for young-uns coming up. Topics i'd appreciate to see, if possible: codifying the process/principles you use to attack problems, your thought process behind creating the Gymshark brand & the realities of being an entreprenuer, warts and all. Keep it up!
Thank you so much honestly for taking the time to explain your process and sharing valuable information! If possible, I would like to see a video in the near future, about how the staff at Gymshark and yourself try to be innovative and forward thinking with your products and how you plan for the customer's reactions and potential sales?
I'm learning so much from these videos so thank you for making them. I'd really be interested in seeing videos about the process of defining the Gymshark culture.
Always liked your product, but I just found out the story of Gymshark from your videos - LOVE your attitude towards your business. Keep that passion, stay humble, and keep learning - you're going places! Thanks for sharing!
I can't wait for when I have the opportunity to attend mentorship programs like this. I can only imagine the fuel it would give to both myself and my business.
amazing video, so excited for the growth of your company! Your mindset inspires me so much to keep working hard and get clarity on that LONG TERM vision. Thank you!
YESSSSSSS! keep on learning , a great message to send out to people of all ages!!!!!! Love aswell that I have been featured! Caught red handed buying my seamless set haha brilliant thanks Ben! Can't wait for the next video
Love hearing why you have to say mate, you're an absolute inspiration to so so many and one of very few role models of mine. I really hope that as gymshark continues to grow and develop that I can somehow find a place within the family, but until then keep up the good work and the best of luck!!!
Tony Robbins teaches great lessons! So awesome for you to have a network of all of the great business people. Like Gary Vee, I document my journey as an entrepreneur on my youtube channel. Keep uploading Ben!
Having mentoring form some of the best mentors in the world is just amazing! I bet you've been able to soak up a lot of information and clarity during your trip, man. I'm sure this will reflect on Gymshark!
I'm so happy to see how easily you can speak to the camera now- that alone is inspirational!!! 🙌 Really REALLY hoping you'll pop-up here in SoCal! I'm losing my shit suspecting you might sooON!
I'm happy you're insulating yourself with wise mentors, Ben. There's a quote attributed to Kevin Spacey that reads, "If you're lucky enough to do well, it's your responsibility to send the elevator back down." I feel that you're doing a great job of assuming the role of mentor with these videos as they're inspirational to everyone who watches them. I would push the envelope and ask that you bring out the potential of your team members by mentoring where/when you're able. The best way to learn is to teach!

Would appreciate you talking about the Psychology of using the athlete creators to build the brand's image. Would love to hear your thoughts on the opportunity of this. 👊👊
Hi Ben it would be very interesting to know how you select and find the best materials and place to produce the clothes because I love fashion and I would love to start a brand but I don't know where to begin and where to find fabrics to make samples and stuff. Because I have all these ideas of clothes but I don't know how to create them. Thanks for all your advices so fare :)
Ben, the videos are great but if a clip gets interrupted or the camera angle/lighting isn't right, which happens, consider rerecording it, taking the time to make the content fluid. Makes it easier to follow and as these videos aren't hugely frequent, you're not under huge time pressure to bang these videos out
I have 2 questions Ben, but first, thank you for sharing your journey! I'm currently on my 3rd attempt trying a build a clothing brand (Olótu.co.uk).(1) What is your thought on business loans, Did you take out a loan to start gym shark? (2)Before gymshark became mega-successful, what did you do with unsold stock?
Get all these in place... 1. Cheap foreign labour ( paid a dollar a day to make your stuff ) 2. Gullible idiots ( to buy your cheap stuff at a massive mark-up ) 3. Clever accountants to hide your money ( so you don't pay ANY tax )
@@SuperFannyfarts 4. Have super jealous people comment on your videos, who could never achieve 1% of what he has if they lived to be 5 million years old.
@@SuperFannyfarts you're right. Im sure he's paying zero tax on 100 million... Idiot. He will contribute more tax in a day than you will in your entire lifetime.
When will you be restocking on the black seamless leggings. They were in my bag and they got taken out at the checkout. I'm so gutted. I need them for a Christmas for my sister. Who is recovering from acl (knee) surgery it would mean so much to her if I got them for her. I just can't explain.
Ben, why are you still staying with Shopify? Why don't you develop your own e-store infrastructure, once a business reaches Gymsharks level how can it possibly be beneficial to stay with Shopify?
Decent point since the fees at that level will add up. Although 80:20 rule probably dictates that shouldn't be the focus right now until the people in operations have sorted the big stuff
the fact shopify have invited him on this trip probably means there is a very good deal in place for both parties. they also might dedicate some staff to help with the gymshark site development to make sure they stay with them
That will be dumb. Why spend too many resources to develop and maintain your own e-commerce infrastructure when you could just use Shopify? They will have to spend millions and millions if they wanted to develop their own ecommerce infrastructure, and a lot more for maintaining and keeping it secure. So there's no point to do that, when they can just use services like Shopify, and avoid a lot of headaches.
Joaquin Garay maintenance and creation of such service for a brand is very cheap arpund 8k pounds per month. If they earn millions per year they spend a lot more on shopify than they would've spend with their own shopping site.
Is it worth buying a sowing machine, decent printer and other equipment and mocking ideas up if you want to produce a clothing brand? I don't know how to use the equipment but can aways give it a go. I see that is how you started up but I feel like times have changed and you can get companies who can print and manufacture the clothes in house for a premium. I guess the designing is only a small slice of the whole business plan.
hey Ben it is really pleasure to listen your speach and it is great how did you learn and want to learn more. That is always good think. I'm big lover of gymshark family and clothes. My biggest dream is to join that family because i love to inspire and motivate other people who want or who already doing they journey or traning. I have 12k followers on my social media (instagram) amd i see them like a mine family and i love them. So I would like to her from you what you are thinking about it and reply to me I would really appreciate it. Thank you
Hi Ben, I think you're amazing! Something I'd love to see is GymShark rep more multicultural athletes. These days I feel wary of supporting really 'white' business and brands. Not saying GS is white-washed, but the girls all seem to be white and blonde. Just a thought. Keep the vids coming!
i disagree with the bad quality of clothing design, i dont own every single products , but what i purchased are pretty dope, what i agree is the availability is worst thing that come up to gymshark
Just a suggestion, but I would be very doubtful if Tony Robbins toughed on this topic. Since You've been the COO of your company, and you do now find yourself, now more then ever, speaking in verbal communications with many business acquaintances. A tip I would have for you, is this. In the U.K., there are many different English speaking dialects. Some might state, that the King's (Queen's) English dialect is preferred, and surly, many would have other opinions. Those, who live in the Leeds vicinity, speak a dialect, where they leave out many consonants. Words, that begin with the letter 'H', for example, they don't pronounce the 'H', Instead of saying, 'hi, how are you, they say, 'i, ow are you, or many who speak a dialect of Scottish, Welsh, or Irish, English, they say (example) 'I told me girl', instead of 'I told my girlfriend'. Another common colloquial language trait, I commonly hear, is not sounding out the word completely, such as words, that have a 'g' at the end (word's that end in 'ing'). Another topic, would be speaking words, that have a hard 'R' sound, by broadly rolling over the 'R'; suggesting it isn't really there. Don't worry to much, because Aussie's and Kiwi's have similar issues. What I'm suggesting is, find a British centrist way of of speaking, and you'll endear yourself to your business venture acquaintances.
Timothy M Let me get this straight, you want him to change his accent so that his "business acquaintances" will like him?!? 😏. Did Sir Sugar change his accent?
never heard such rubbish XD When you are in a position of influence/power like Ben now is they dont care about his accent, but his business mind and creativity which has got him to where he is now

I don't think there was a business loan no

What are the 3 MAIN things to focus on when starting a new brand? :)
