Rebeka Koha, 19 year-old 58kg lifter for Latvia, doing a heavy snatch, C&J and FS session while 3 days out from competition at the 2017 World Championships. Some notes:
-The second pop tag should be @artursplesnieks. We left the second r out and wrote artus by mistake. Here's the link to his instagram: / artursplesnieks . We didn't feel like re-exporting and re-uploading for one letter.
-This is part 1 of 2 because we also have her heavy session from the following day (ie, 2 days out). We did capture a few squats that she did while 4 days out, so we will include those as bonus footage at the end of part 2.
-She went on to do 101/121 to set PRs and to medal for the first time at senior Worlds.
-She did 99/120 earlier this year at the 2017 Junior Worlds to win the title
-One of her coaches is Viktors Ščerbatihs, former elite superheavy for Latvia. He's a 2x Olympic medalist (silver 2004, bronze 2008) with a 455kg total from the 2004 Games. He's lost a lot of weight since he retired from weightlifting.
-Her other coach is Eduards Andruškevičs, himself a weightlifter back in the late 70s/early 80s with a best result of 177/215 @ 100. He was Ščerbatihs' coach as well. And he also does some coaching for the Italian team, assisting 56kg lifter Mirco Scarantino in particular.
-Her instagram is here: / rebeka_koha
-The intro and outro music is Johnny Rock "Back in Time" / johnny-rock-back-in-time

Eh, we've only uploaded maybe 5 Koha videos in total. Not exactly frequent. ATG has published way more Koha vids so maybe you are confusing that. The reason we uploaded Koha, in this case, is because she's young, she has great technique, she goes pretty heavy in training (Kuo did not and Srisurat will be out later), she is accomplished (won Junior Worlds), etc. Of course it does help that people like her and she's active on social media and she speaks English and so on. But lots of people fit that criteria and we don't upload videos of them because they aren't quite as accomplished. But for the most part we try to upload videos of lifters who are good and lifters who people like to watch train. If they are one or the other, it's a bit lower priority than the ones who fit both criteria. And of our training hall videos, like 75%+ will be male because there were relatively few good female sessions. Lydia being a big exception, there will be a lot of videos of her because she did a lot of good sessions.

A Why is it okay for women to creep on muscular attractive men and but not for men to look at women? Plus many of the viewers are probably very similar age to her so how creepy is it exactly?

I don't understand. So not good for her to get exposure purely because of creepy comments that are out of the control of the people who put the videos out so lets have less videos because of creepy dudes?! You are directing your frustration at the wrong people, why not try challenging the creepy comments instead. I find her very inspiring wish there was an upload every day! Besides ifm creepy comments put a stop to the release of content then Clarence Kennedy would have to stop producing training vids as his comments are the weirdest!

Do you and ATG decide who y’all video tape when it comes to meets?🤔

    • @hookgrip
      @hookgrip  6 ปีที่แล้ว +40

sometimes we talk about it but usually we just shoot who we want to shoot and just operate independently. but, as an example, one of the days in Durres at Euro U20/U23 i basically told him that i'd give him the choice of training hall or competition, but that i would do the opposite of whatever he picked. he picked training hall and shot a toma session, i went to the competition (20ish minute drive away) and shot some of the lighter weight class A sessions. so that's one case where we did do a divide/conquer sort of arrangement.

Doesnt she usually wear the black Leistung's? Not complaining about the Nikes since those are the best colorway.
It's nice to see someone not haphazardly dropping the Eleiko Training bars. Makes me cringe everytime someone lets a bare bar crash to the ground.
The opening sequence is amazing. Take the full song, and just put everyones best lift together as a montage. That would be so epic.

I never tried Leistung 1, but I did tried to switch to leistung 2 from adipower.. only last a month before I order a pair of legacy lifter.
everything from leistung is terrible, from its heel to the upper. it's not comfortable, not the most stable, but also not very lightweight.. in short, it's mediocre in everything
