On me velvet fawn does look like a more neutral nude rather than the pinkness coming out on you. It does look really nice on you though!
I made a wish for Christmas and suspect that Fawn lipstick is somewhere near, in my condo, hidden from me so I have a long time to be excited about getting it. I love the color! Also, don't cut to the chase because the chase is not why we watch your videos. It is unique to see someone buy just one (unfortunately) and that is so beautiful. I don't enjoy watching videos where people are drowning in their makeup collections not being able to enjoy the beauty of it.
I’m so happy you found Lisa Eldridge, I knew you’d love her stuff! That color looks sooo beautiful on you and not too pinky at all - so flattering and gorgeous and fresh! I did buy just one as well, but it was one of the reds, velvet ribbon! I had a video comparing and swatching it against all my other reds and it was so beautiful it allowed me to declutter a bunch of my other reds! They’re really something special!
i adore these lipsticks! i purchased the true velvet set with velvet fawn, velvet muse and velvet decade. i previously purchased her set of reds so i knew that these would be something i love. velvet fawn is similar to charlotte tilbury very victoria, which has been my favourite nude up until now. if you've tried the pat mcgrath matte lipsticks, i find the formula is sort of similar to these.

Welcome to the Lisa’s velvet lipsticks club! I collect lipsticks and love her formula therefore I have them all. ( yes a saved between launches to by them and even restrained Myself from buying lipsticks as I knew this was coming) As you might have heard from others her lipsticks have a chameleon property, by that I mean they will look more pink or brown depending on your undertones but also depending on which lipliner is used. Experiment with different lipliner and you might find some lip liner make it look browner than others...

Many times it's hard to buy great color, bc most lipsticks are more cool toned. It would be helpful for me, if Lisa does some comparing swatches with diferent colors of her lipsticks. I can watch them on other channels later, but I prefer have them in her videos.

Ah! I was really curious how the velvet fawn looks on a seriously pale sister :) Thank you for sharing this to us. I'm one that bought a set of 3, the one with the velvet ribbon, velvet decade and velvet muse. The reason was actually that when Lisa launched her lipsticks the very first time, I chose to pick only two - jazz and morning - and later regretted badly not picking up the very classic one, velvet ribbon. I tried to get it during later restocks, but they were always out of stock. My plan for this pre-order was to get velvet ribbon and one of the lighter nudes. I was almost convinced to pick velvet fawn, until realized that on my pale yellow skin it will pull more pink than sandy, which I so desire in a nude. The decision to purchase a set of three was pushed by velvet decade that is quite unique to my collection formula-wise and to be honest I really wanted the pouch. I know, it's silly - but it beautiful and I'm happy to own it. Now, about the shades - may be will be useful for the readers. Velvet Muse and Decade both pull pink on me, which I knew would happen before even adding them to cart. It's OK, as I was amazed how fresh they make me look, even the darker shade, it looks like rich warm cocoa rather than chocolate - and I'm so grateful for this, as I do have brown chocolates in my stash. Velvet Muse is also a beautiful, beautiful blush for my complexion. I'm extremely happy with the purchase, though it was a bit of a stretch and now I have to be strict on my beauty purchases till the end of the year. I know that you are probably not on the hunt for it, but possibly you may look at Ofra Dubai and Melt Voyeur as your "sandy" nudes. They may probably both be a bit too dark for a nude against your complexion (I'm a death cap myself, but you are lighter than me), but these two have no pink in them whatsoever. Ofra Dubai is rather neutral, a beautiful sand, and Melt Voyeur is almost a greenish yellow, I totally adore the shade, it's quite unique. Or at least I never saw anything like this from the brands available to me.

I demonstrated your old behavior. I really wAnted Muse...but it sold out immediately ...so as I was pondering which set that contained Muse to purchase, they continued to start selling out as well. FOMO caused me to buy a set with a red that I likely will never wear. This has been the one release that has really gotten me. Lisa is such a goddess. Anxiously awaiting my order.... I can totally imagine that! I should have mentioned in the video that my skin makes almost all nudes look pink. That's part of why I tend to go so hard for the browns (in blushes, too)
I’m trying to figure this pink/brown thing with Velvet Fawn because I am pale with strong yellow undertone (Becca Shell is 👌, between Nars Siberia and Gobi) ...nudes very frequently pull brown on me! Fawn does as well. My hair is a cool-tone medium brown, though, so I’m wondering if that influences how the shade looks. So interesting!
That's interesting that you found that it looked pink on you. I have neutral almost pink undertones, and I think fawn looked more yellow-peach on me. It looks lovely on you!
I wish I understood the hype around these lipsticks. I bought the velvet reds and they felt too silicone-y and would not cover the outer inner part of my lower lip - so my lower lip always had the natural lip exposed, like a strip, whenever I opened my mouth. I ended up rehoming them on Ebay. As if I didn't learn from the experience, I bought 2 of the summer collection lipsticks and the Golightly shade looked godawful on me. They too found a new home on Ebay. So, I didn't pay any notice to this new release and haven't purchased anything. I have similar shades in my own collection and have been determined to rotate every single lipstick in my collection this winter instead of buying more lipstick. I need to start using up lipsticks as they do go bad in the end!
Lala H I was starting to think I was the only one who is having trouble with this formula! I bought two sets and a single. So far they’ve looked patchy and done what you described. They’re so drying and you can’t make them work with any balm. I’m trying desperately to make them work. These remind me of the colourpop matte x formula, and I’ve found some dupes in those as well. I find these much more finicky. I’m so disappointed, but hopefully I can figure out how to wear them and enjoy them.
I also didn't care much for the velvet formula or the lucent one - the velvet formula felt too drying for me and the lucent felt like a mess, clinged to every bit of skin I had even though I had previously exfoliated my lips. I adore the colors in the bullet, and I had to REALLY try hard not to buy the new velvets because I knew the formula didn't work for me, but oh my god aren't they so beautiful? Golightly also looked a bit awful on me, as it looked very pinky and I tend to hate light pinks on me, which is such a shame :( As far as similar products go, Charlotte Tilbury matte formula seems to work a whole lot better for me (I bought only one to test and see if there was a matte formula that I could wear comfortably, and I was surprised at its creamy feel) and Guerlain's main lipstick line seems to have a similar feel as Lisa's lucent formula, but works better too imo.
I just bought 1 also!! The same one!! Velvet Fawn! Gorgeous- I wish I was a satin formula - but the velvet looking bullet is so cool. I think that color looks like it was made for you as well! I’m looking for a tone in the ones you describe that you like in a more satin sheen formula - if you know of one let me know!
Like your approach ... Well, I bought Jazz this month, having waited for it all year - but although I really like it, it just didn't have the brown impact I was looking for, so I decided to try Once more and see if Decade was what I was looking for. So two lipsticks for me, but had only planned on one ... I've yet to receive it, so I'm hoping it will do for me what I wanted Jazz to do. Don't forget that we can often mix lipsticks, especially if they're the same brand! X

I've been looking all over for a demo of Fawn on someone just like you! I have the very similar shade gold hair/fair skin/dark eyes and brows as you (twinning!) so it was really interesting to hear your analysis of the pinkish tones! It looks very muted and earthy on the website's model. Have you tried Super Nude by Soap & Glory (the sexy mother pucker line of matte lipsticks)? I'm trying to work out if it's a dupe as it's £9 and i've loved using it in the past!

I got mine too and I got velvet muse but I am thinking of getting velvet decade and maybe fawn but my skin is darker than you so I keep delaying getting it.
Definitely think that there is a chameleon quality to her lipsticks and something that looks more brown on one person may look more pink on another because I have that with my velvet muse.
Just for fun I took a screenshot of you and then one of Fawn. The color is exactly the same so I don't see how you thought it would have been "more brown". I think it looks great but the color is an exact match.
I love this color on you! I was thinking that you may like Lancome's L'absolu Drama Matte in 510, 511, 512, it's a very underrated formula and the colors are in a weird spectrum that remind me of Raw Chocolate and Gone Greige, but there is something special about them.

I am curious what you think about Gucci’s newest lipsticks (I saw them at Sephora). I thought the three different formulas was an interesting choice...it reminds me a bit of Tati’s palette and through it’s emphasis of texture differences. This lipstick really vibed with your cheek color. Love it!

Hannah, your bangs always look so great! I recently got my bangs cut after being without them for several years and can't style them to save my life. Could you tell me how you make yours look so nice?
I tend to go for intense texturizing and volumizing products like Amika Bushwick Beach or Mark Anthony Dream Big. I'll spray one at the roots of my bangs and work it in, rubbing the roots together and kind of tangling them to give them volume and "fluff." I hope that helps!

Omg I love these lipsticks. I got the trio and I thought the velvet jazz would be my least favorite cause I tend to do only light reds. But man it’s my favorite of all. I’m wearing it everyday either as a stain or full on.
I just got mine this week too. I got the Skyscraper color from the spring launch because I really wanted that color. I also got the two deepest shades. I didn't get the berry colored lipstick because most of my lipsticks are berry colored. If you find that this lipstick doesn't spark joy. That you really prefer a brown nude and are not reaching for it, will you declutter it or will you keep as a collectible? For instance I have an eye shadow from MAC called Sea and Sky. They haven't made it in years. I don't care how old it gets, whether it goes off or not, I am keeping it. For me, I don't think there is anything wrong with having an item that is not a functioning part of a collection, but is there for an emotional attachment. The item makes you happy. I feel like you keep the Givenchy lipstick because you have an emotional attachment to it because a friend gave it to you (I could be wrong), and not because you use it. What are your thoughts on keeping a non-functioning item in a collection because of an emotional attachment to it?

I pre-ordered (last Friday before the window closed) so it shipped on Monday with all of the pre-orders and arrived on Wednesday. They might be slower at the warehouse this week since you ordered in the "second wave" (after the pre-order window) but maybe try contacting them just in case?

Fawn is a chameleon lipstick. Use your brown lip pencil and the pinkish colour will disappear from Fawn. I used a pink lip pencil to push it towards more pink. Just outline your lip don’t fill it in.
I wore Velvet Fawn today! Love Lisa's lipsticks and have brought them all except from Dacade and Midnight as I know I wouldn't get much use out of them. The reds look most impressive with the velvet effect :) One more thing, I've watched many people online wearing them and they look different on everyone. That's really interesting but not helpful at all when trying to choose shades.

wow this is crazy I just found you on youtube and subscribed not too long ago....and about 3 months ago, I decided to go on a low buy/budget because I was spending too much and buying way too much for me to try and use. I bought only Velvet Jazz when her red collection first launched, because I wanted to try the formula, and I just loved it so much! and now, when I'm looking for good nudes, I purchased the nude bundle, and I'm so glad I did, because the tones are just so, so lovely, and I've had hard time finding something quite neutral for me. Velvet Fawn also pulls a bit pink on me, but at the same time, I think, it's a perfect nude, in the sense that it looks like I'm not wearing lipstick at all. So glad to have it, I tend to buy darker lipsticks, but here I decided to believe in Lisa and I'm over the moon

Idk who Lisa is but that's a really great color for you :) it is kind of pink but I think it is a neutral kind of pink on you. I bought 2 lipsticks yesterday at Walmart, but it was 1 shade from Milani and Flower and I was excited to try the brands. Teddy Bare by Milani and Autumn Rose by Flower. They're both beautiful on. So, not 1 product but one product from each brand and I'm pretty satisfied with that.
I only purchased one lipstick as well, and I actually purchased one from the last lunch that had sold out. The color is rainbow spill. I don’t wear bright lipstick very often but I wanted something special for the times when I do. Here’s what I learned: My $6.95 Milani Matte lipstick in the color “I’m happy” it’s just as nice or better than the Lisa Eldridge lipstick. Lisa Eldridge lipstick is dry, thin, and doesn’t cover my lip so Piggly. And it doesn’t last any longer than the other brand. Hard lesson learned
I prefer a brown nude, but I trust Lisa’s eye and loved her pinks. Everything sold out so quickly. I am trying not buying anything for the rush of having it, so I’ll wait for a restock. Edit: Thank you for the affordable comparison swatches.
if you prefer a brown nude and you don't already have Maybelline Raw Chocolate, it might be more perfect for you than any of these. It has a similar finish, too.
Lisa Eldridge lipsticks were on my wishlist and I purchases Velvet Muse and Velvet Myth - last year I bought Velvet Jazz. Her lipsticks have so much pigment and such interesting undertones. Price point she's less expensive than, Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford and Pat McGrath, and I consider her luxury.
I adore Lisa Eldridge but am a bit behind... last year I finally got my hands on the original reds (you would love) and this launch I finally got my hands on last years pinks (check out Skyscraper rose) Old Stacey would have bought all of the new collection as well but you’ve helped me slay that dragon 🐉 and just get one bundle. Will have to get this years bundles next year... 💄

Ofra Dubai is rather neutral, a beautiful sand, and Melt Voyeur is almost a greenish yellow, I totally adore the shade, it's quite unique. Or at least I never saw anything like this from the brands available to me.

I have a fair but very strong yellow borderline olive undertone and both fawn and muse pull very peachy browney on me.

I demonstrated your old behavior. I really wAnted Muse...but it sold out immediately ...so as I was pondering which set that contained Muse to purchase, they continued to start selling out as well. It’s so funny how that shade looks so different on you than me! With your yellow undertone, it’s looking pinker. On me, with my cool undertone it is sooo neutral. Doesn’t even seem to have a hint of pink when I wear it.

I can totally imagine that! I should have mentioned in the video that my skin makes almost all nudes look pink. That's part of why I tend to go so hard for the browns (in blushes, too)
I’m trying to figure this pink/brown thing with Velvet Fawn because I am pale with strong yellow undertone (Becca Shell is 👌, between Nars Siberia and Gobi) ...nudes very frequently pull brown on me! Fawn does as well. My hair is a cool-tone medium brown, though, so I’m wondering if that influences how the shade looks. So interesting!

That's interesting that you found that it looked pink on you. I have neutral almost pink undertones, and I think fawn looked more yellow-peach on me. It looks lovely on you!
I wish I understood the hype around these lipsticks. I bought the velvet reds and they felt too silicone-y and would not cover the outer inner part of my lower lip - so my lower lip always had the natural lip exposed, like a strip, whenever I opened my mouth. I ended up rehoming them on Ebay. As if I didn't learn from the experience, I bought 2 of the summer collection lipsticks and the Golightly shade looked godawful on me. They too found a new home on Ebay. So, I didn't pay any notice to this new release and haven't purchased anything. I have similar shades in my own collection and have been determined to rotate every single lipstick in my collection this winter instead of buying more lipstick. I need to start using up lipsticks as they do go bad in the end!
Lala H I was starting to think I was the only one who is having trouble with this formula! I bought two sets and a single. So far they’ve looked patchy and done what you described. They’re so drying and you can’t make them work with any balm. I’m trying desperately to make them work. These remind me of the colourpop matte x formula, and I’ve found some dupes in those as well. I find these much more finicky. I’m so disappointed, but hopefully I can figure out how to wear them and enjoy them.

I also didn't care much for the velvet formula or the lucent one - the velvet formula felt too drying for me and the lucent felt like a mess, clinged to every bit of skin I had even though I had previously exfoliated my lips. I adore the colors in the bullet, and I had to REALLY try hard not to buy the new velvets because I knew the formula didn't work for me, but oh my god aren't they so beautiful? Golightly also looked a bit awful on me, as it looked very pinky and I tend to hate light pinks on me, which is such a shame :( As far as similar products go, Charlotte Tilbury matte formula seems to work a whole lot better for me (I bought only one to test and see if there was a matte formula that I could wear comfortably, and I was surprised at its creamy feel) and Guerlain's main lipstick line seems to have a similar feel as Lisa's lucent formula, but works better too imo.

Well, I bought Jazz this month, having waited for it all year - but although I really like it, it just didn't have the brown impact I was looking for, so I decided to try Once more and see if Decade was what I was looking for. So two lipsticks for me, but had only planned on one ... I've yet to receive it, so I'm hoping it will do for me what I wanted Jazz to do. Don't forget that we can often mix lipsticks, especially if they're the same brand! X

I've been looking all over for a demo of Fawn on someone just like you! I have the very similar shade gold hair/fair skin/dark eyes and brows as you (twinning!) so it was really interesting to hear your analysis of the pinkish tones! It looks very muted and earthy on the website's model. Have you tried Super Nude by Soap & Glory (the sexy mother pucker line of matte lipsticks)? I'm trying to work out if it's a dupe as it's £9 and i've loved using it in the past!

Definitely think that there is a chameleon quality to her lipsticks and something that looks more brown on one person may look more pink on another because I have that with my velvet muse.

I was thinking that you may like Lancome's L'absolu Drama Matte in 510, 511, 512, it's a very underrated formula and the colors are in a weird spectrum that remind me of Raw Chocolate and Gone Greige, but there is something special about them.

Oh my this color is lovely! You just introduced me to a new brand. I am pretty much a drugstore/Colourpop girl, but gorgeous lipsticks are my weakness. I am curious what you think about Gucci’s newest lipsticks (I saw them at Sephora). I thought the three different formulas was an interesting choice...it reminds me a bit of Tati’s palette and through it’s emphasis of texture differences. This lipstick really vibed with your cheek color. Love it!
Ohh love this look on you! Fawn does look quite brown on me compared to you, i have noticed quite a few beauty gurus who are very fair, fawn looks pinkier on them! I love fawn a lot, a lot of nude shades are very light on me, its definitely a rare flattering shade for me
I think it's to do with undertones! My warm undertone makes most neutrals look pink.

Hannah, your bangs always look so great! I recently got my bangs cut after being without them for several years and can't style them to save my life. Could you tell me how you make yours look so nice?
I tend to go for intense texturizing and volumizing products like Amika Bushwick Beach or Mark Anthony Dream Big. I'll spray one at the roots of my bangs and work it in, rubbing the roots together and kind of tangling them to give them volume and "fluff." I hope that helps!

Omg I love these lipsticks. I got the trio and I thought the velvet jazz would be my least favorite cause I tend to do only light reds. But man it’s my favorite of all. I’m wearing it everyday either as a stain or full on.

I just got mine this week too. I got the Skyscraper color from the spring launch because I really wanted that color. I also got the two deepest shades. I didn't get the berry colored lipstick because most of my lipsticks are berry colored. If you find that this lipstick doesn't spark joy. That you really prefer a brown nude and are not reaching for it, will you declutter it or will you keep as a collectible? For instance I have an eye shadow from MAC called Sea and Sky. They haven't made it in years. I don't care how old it gets, whether it goes off or not, I am keeping it. For me, I don't think there is anything wrong with having an item that is not a functioning part of a collection, but is there for an emotional attachment. The item makes you happy. I feel like you keep the Givenchy lipstick because you have an emotional attachment to it because a friend gave it to you (I could be wrong), and not because you use it. What are your thoughts on keeping a non-functioning item in a collection because of an emotional attachment to it?

Rebecca Sahraoui - I mentioned this in a comment but in case you missed it - As you might have heard from others Lisa’s lipsticks have a chameleon property, by that I mean they will look more pink or brown depending on your undertones but also depending on which lipliner is used. Experiment with different lipliner and you might find some lip liner make it look browner or pinker than others...

Fawn is a chameleon lipstick. Use your brown lip pencil and the pinkish colour will disappear from Fawn. I used a pink lip pencil to push it towards more pink. Just outline your lip don’t fill it in.
I wore Velvet Fawn today! Love Lisa's lipsticks and have brought them all except from Dacade and Midnight as I know I wouldn't get much use out of them. The reds look most impressive with the velvet effect :) One more thing, I've watched many people online wearing them and they look different on everyone. That's really interesting but not helpful at all when trying to choose shades.

wow this is crazy I just found you on youtube and subscribed not too long ago....and about 3 months ago, I decided to go on a low buy/budget because I was spending too much and buying way too much for me to try and use. I bought only Velvet Jazz when her red collection first launched, because I wanted to try the formula, and I just loved it so much! and now, when I'm looking for good nudes, I purchased the nude bundle, and I'm so glad I did, because the tones are just so, so lovely, and I've had hard time finding something quite neutral for me. Velvet Fawn also pulls a bit pink on me, but at the same time, I think, it's a perfect nude, in the sense that it looks like I'm not wearing lipstick at all. I bought 2 lipsticks yesterday at Walmart, but it was 1 shade from Milani and Flower and I was excited to try the brands. Teddy Bare by Milani and Autumn Rose by Flower. They're both beautiful on. So, not 1 product but one product from each brand and I'm pretty satisfied with that.

I only purchased one lipstick as well, and I actually purchased one from the last lunch that had sold out. The color is rainbow spill. I don’t wear bright lipstick very often but I wanted something special for the times when I do. Here’s what I learned: My $6.95 Milani Matte lipstick in the color “I’m happy” it’s just as nice or better than the Lisa Eldridge lipstick. Lisa Eldridge lipstick is dry, thin, and doesn’t cover my lip so Piggly. And it doesn’t last any longer than the other brand. Hard lesson learned

if you prefer a brown nude and you don't already have Maybelline Raw Chocolate, it might be more perfect for you than any of these. It has a similar finish, too.

Lisa Eldridge lipsticks were on my wishlist and I purchases Velvet Muse and Velvet Myth - last year I bought Velvet Jazz. Her lipsticks have so much pigment and such interesting undertones. Price point she's less expensive than, Charlotte Tilbury, Tom Ford and Pat McGrath, and I consider her luxury.
