    So cool.
    Question.
I just read " be sure that the shift bushing is good and solid. If the shift bushing gets soft or cracks the shifting is super sloppy and will make learning manual on it a complete nightmare."
Can anyone point me on what is this "shift bushing". My '94 Samurai is at the mechanic now, and we can check this while we are at it. I want it to be perfect.
    Thanks!!

Any build notes on the extended cab truck in the background?

IF I ever finish it I will detail it down to the bolts. Originally something I was going to build for myself. A fella called me from my own home state. He described my idea with out me telling him first. Then he improved on it with a dump bed. I was/am going to do it with a rear engine v6. The truck bed looked like it was hauling an engine. This one has the dump feature. Quite impressive fabrication. It’s on the back burner for a bit longer. I had no way to finish it so I bought it back. My Minnesota friend has the first position to buy back when finished. Then maybe finish Thor’s Hammer. That one of mine was last touched in 2005. It’s parts are in storage here somewhere.

My project plan was to build something similar from an LJ80 but when the funding came available I lucked into a very nice tin top Samurai and am not willing to chop the body up. You have a cool project, I hope you find the time to put it back on the front burner.

@@troycongdon owned many a tintop. My best was a gift to me by a customer after we modified to the hilt for him. I took it places it shouldn’t have been. No problem with Smasher canyon obstacles

Why a allen bolt? Is it a punishment to our species for being unclean? It makes the job way more difficult than it needs to be. The bushing does make a world of difference!

Allen material is harder than hex head bolts. That’s why. If you are using the ZOR shift Allen you must remove the tower. To get the broken soft bolt out. Do not attempt to remove broken nub from tower while on trans. I have lost count how many broken tips of the soft bolt find their way into the fluid trough below the lower cluster pack.
