  • This video discusses the ancient Hebrew tradition of Messiah Ben Joseph, a prophet (descended from Joseph of Egypt) that was to be a latter-day restorer and forerunner before the Messiah (known as Messiah Ben David) would come in His glory. The correlations between the traditions of Messiah Ben Joseph and the life of Joesph Smith are remarkable and another powerful evidence of the restoration.

    Hands down you are the best I have seen. I have searched the web for quality and thorough material. You’ve become a close friend to me and we’ve never even met. I am investigating the church from the ground up all the way from ancient Christianity to today and you are a viable source. Thank you for all of your efforts in getting this information out. Why you don’t have millions of subscribers on your channel I will never know. It’s only a matter of time until that is the case.

    This is spectacular! Not only did none of Joseph's prophecies ever fail, he fulfilled a prophecy himself!The fact that orthodox Jewish students were able to recognize the signs without being told to make a connection between Joseph Smith and Messiah Ben Joseph is amazing.

    Patterns repeat. The Hero's journey isn't just human psychology... it's what is hard-wired into us as a witness of Christ. All things witness of Christ. He is the ultimate Hero and the prototype we all must emmulate in our own ways until the perfect day.

    "In the late 1970's while teaching with the Brigham Young University Jerusalem program, I was invited to give a series of lectures in Hebrew on the subject of Mormonism at the University of Haifa. In one of the lectures, I displayed a chart outlining Joseph Smith’s major accomplishments. I intended to speak about each item on the list and at the end suggest that Joseph Smith fit the qualifications for the Messiah of Joseph expected by the Jews, but that turned out to be unnecessary. By the time I got through the top third of the list, I heard whispering among a group of Orthodox Jewish students in the audience. They were saying ‘Messiah Ben Joseph, Messiah, the son of Joseph.'” John Tvedtnes

    One correction...the year Christ died Passover began at sundown on Wednesday, the Last Supper meal he shared with his Apostles was a Jewish FAST day called the Fast of the Firstborn, this explains WHY Judas was able to leave, “to purchase provisions for Passover” and WHY everyone could be WITH Judas to arrest Christ in the garden, including some of the temple priests, IF this had been Passover then NO ONE could have been outside until sunrise, just as it says in Exodus...the priests even REFUSE to enter the home of Caiaphas so that they will not be “defiled” and then MISS Passover...
    Christ turning the Fast of the Firstborn into the Sacrament is so powerful, and makes so much sense, the more you study the Jewish feasts and Christ, the more you find Christ elevating the gospel from the lesser law into the higher law, just like he does in his Sermon on the [Temple] Mount...
    Christ laid in his tomb from sundown Wednesday to sundown Saturday, which explains WHY the stone was ALREADY moved away when Mary arrived, when it was STILL dark...the Jewish “day” begins at sundown, not sunrise, Sunday “morning” actually took place at sundown Saturday, the end of their Sabbath day...
    *Passover 28 AD began at sundown Wednesday, and with his birth at 6 BC that would make Christ 34 years old, Just like the Book of Mormon says...

      I am not familiar with that but it wouldn’t surprise me if a Rabbi shared that opinion as the number 40 has symbolic significance for them in various ways, such as being a period of trial, testing, probation.

    I am sorry, but you've got something wrong in this case: In the Jewish tradition Messiah Ben Joseph is the forerunner of Messiah Ben David. So first comes Messiah Ben Joseph and than there will be Messiah Ben David who will come from Heavens.

    • @latterdaysaintsqa
      @latterdaysaintsqa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There must be some kind of misunderstanding here. I agree 100% with everything you just said. As I explained in the video, Messiah Ben Joseph (the connection I made in the video was the potential of this being Joesph Smith) was the preparer of the way (forerunner) for Messiah Ben David, (who we believe will be the second coming of Jesus Christ, this time in all his glory) who will come from the heavens.

    • @nisuUtau
      @nisuUtau 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@latterdaysaintsqa Who, in your oppinion, has been Jesus?

    • @nisuUtau
      @nisuUtau 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@latterdaysaintsqa BTW "Messiah Ben Joseph" means "Messiah the SON of Joseph". So Joseph Smith could never have been the forerunner of Messiah Ben David. Only his son. But it is foretold, that Messiah Ben Joseph has to suffer a lot. As Jesus did.

    • @latterdaysaintsqa
      @latterdaysaintsqa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah. We believe he came to earth the first time in humble circumstances as the suffering servant to perform the atonement and be resurrected, redeeming all mankind from sin and death. We believe he will come again the second time, in all his glory out of heaven, as the Messiah Ben David.

    • @latterdaysaintsqa
      @latterdaysaintsqa  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We believe that Joseph Smith was actually a descendent of Joseph of Egypt. He was also a son of Joseph, as his father was named Joseph. He also suffered significantly in life and even died a martyrs death.
