Thank you :) You mentioned about building regulation for a garage conversion and of what I have understood, I may not need one for a single detached garage being converted to an entertainment room (all internal changes) but with an added door and a window. Not sure if my understanding is correct. Any guidance here?
Hi - glad you found it useful. From what I recall, planning permission was not required but building regulations were because a conversion needed a level of insulation and foundations which needed signing off. They also checked we had a suitable fire escape, too. An external garage would, in theory, need none of these elements to be signed off. Best bet would be to just phone or email them and ask. They’ll normally try and help, I’ve found.
