    Fun boat ride it looks like, my boat will eventually get a 3 hp 2 stroke mercury outboard

    I love it. Get out there and do it, you don't need to spend 10s of thousands on a boat to get out on the water. Just a small boat and careful preparing.

      Right?? A guy at work kinda laughed when I bought my little boat but I'm out on the water and having fun every weekend and he isn't so who's laughing now

    Lil boat hauling ass brings back memories of my ol river boat we had a group of us growing up with old River boats and old jet skis we spent a lot of time on the water in the summer

    I have the exact same setup and take it on any lake! I just went on the Columbia river in Washington! And did great 2 full grown men and gear going 20 mph!

    That’s a 9.5. People call them turtle motors. I ran a 1965 9.5 until last year when I gave it to my brother.
    Great motors, made from mid 60’s to early 70’s I believe.
    Take care of it. It’ll live for many more decades.

    Put a 3/4 inch plywood casting v platform in the front with a seat hole/receptical. It should plane out flatter with some weight in the front

    It's amazing how fast a 12 foot aluminum boat will go with a 10hp motor. My first boat was a 12 foot aluminum with a 1957 Mercury Mark 10. It really moved out when it was just me in it.

      With the price of gas these days 10hp is all you want lol

    Put a front V deck with double 3/4 plywood. That will level you out. Bouncing on small waves sucks.

    This video answers my question.
    Is 9.9hp too much motor for my 12ft. Aluminum V-bottom ?

      @matthewrobillard551 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Slap a 15hp on her lol

      That would probably be too heavy.
      My transom height is only 15 inches.

      They’re both actually the same size. Just too much power you’re worried about. 9.9 is just fine for 12ft tinny.

    I thought you was going to load all that stuff in your boat. You should see my 12` boat when I load it to stay overnight on the bank some where. I usually want for nothing when I go coffee pot ,stove whole 10+ yards even a sleeping bag ,tell you how we keep from losing our poles on another one.
