- This video is about adjusting valve clearance of bajaj dominar same can be applied for duke 390 which has basically same engine with different head design
Tools Required
-8/6mm allen key/socket
-10mm socket
-8mm socket
-Feeler gauge
stock valve clearances-
intake: 0.08mm - 0.12mm
exhaust: 0.13mm - 0.17mm
This is a quick video showing you how to check valve clearances of Dominar 400 UG Euro4/BS4 you don't have to unmount entire engine to do this like shown in the video i hope it helps someone who wants to diy.

Is the valve diameter same as ktm 200 engines?

That I am not sure brother but dominar 400 shims diameter do match with duke 390
@@scram911 Hmmm ok and I know that 390 shims are bigger than 200's. Maybe the 250's will be same as KTM's 200. Thanks for replying buddy

How much this would cost at bajaj service center
Depends on labor charges it varies from one location to another shims are not that expensive as far as I remember it's was ₹40 something for a single shim.
@@scram911 I want to adjust my shims and clearance and timing change. Unfortunately service center charges here in mumbai are way too much almost around 4 to 5k excluding parts.
Find some good ktm mechanic in market there will definitely be one since ktm's are hot sell all over India and its is 90%+ similar to dominar.

Why did you have to check your valve clearance? Did you have any mileage/performance issues?

@@scram911 did the issue get resolved or did you see any improvement after check? Seems to be a problem with a lot of Bajaj and RE bikes
@@viralengine908little bit noise was there after fixing the clearance issue but again that bike had starved for engine oil one time in Nepal so it could be something else.
and coming to your second question about improvement YES there was i even drag raced it with my 2020 bs6 dominar it was running as good as new compared to before which was not even crossing 90kph with ease.

Not sure since I wasn't the owner of that bike all I knew was bike overheated while on a trip to Mustang or pokhara (Nepal)
