@nonya.bizness thats exactly what I just told her too. I hate all the 😮yammering about unnecessary information like what her dog ate and how the neighbors hate her fence, lol . Not that it's what's really been said but you get it.
For me, the hardest part of quilting is the binding. Thank you for showing and explaining the process in such a clear way. I really appreciate that. After watching your video, I feel confident to go finish the Christmas tree skirt I'm making for my Son and Daughter-in-Law for Christmas.

I am just learning. I am making a landscape quilt which isn't perfect but it's not bad for my first one. I knew I had seen this method done before but didn't know what it was called. I just put in what I thought would work, and I found you, thank goodness. You are precise and to the point. Now tomorrow I can finish this. And start a new one of sea life with a big turtle as the focal underwater main dude. Lol thank you so much. I love your baby quilt.

I really like this binding!!! I have been making quilts using different bindings and none are easier than this one. I found quilt as you go the most time consuming and difficult to bind, and the next one was adding a 2 1/2 inch strip binding sewn to the front and back(not easy for me either) and the easiest was one I just finished a self binding one but the binding is too wide for my liking. I am about to finish a quilt for my son as a gift and I will use this binding for that…Thanks so much

Thank you! I was going to round the corners of a wallhanging I'm working on & use bias tape in order to avoid the mitered corners.
Your explanation convinced me to keep it square & use mitered corners.

So easy - and efficient. I always have at least 1" of backing leftover, so why cut more binding, fold, sew again, when I can just do this? Thanks for making it look so easy.

I have a question. I have found a very old hand quilted top that my grandmother did many, many years ago. It’s very dirty, so first it needs cleaning. Should I hand wash it?
Next I would like to finish it but I am unable to do fine handwork. So, what is your opinion of me finding a flexible fusing web, ironing on a bed sheet to her top? Any idea and help would be greatly appreciated!!
What rotary cutter do you use? I have bought four and none cut through butter. Or is it your mat that is the trick? Thank you!

Yup, that’s what you would need to do.
Binding is not my friend. Your method is so much easier!
I'm making a quilt using charm packs. Probably around the size of 60x80.......not sure yet. I'm not planning to do a border like you have there. How wide should the finished self binding be? Do you think I need a border like you have?
You don’t have to have a border. I would make your backing fabric at least 4 inches wider and longer than you need so you have plenty of material to work with. Especially since backing fabric can move a little when quilting. So going by the measurements you gave I would make your backing 64x84 and center your top so there is 2 inches showing all the way around. I hope that makes sense!

Can the front of the binding be sewed on machine instead of hand sewing?
Any chance you could post pattern/directions for the baby quilt shown? Please???
I didn’t really have a pattern. I used 4 1/2” squares and laid them out in the design that I wanted. And cut out some hearts and appliquéd them on some of the squares. Then added a border to make it the size I wanted. Hope that helps!!
