According to discussions inside Stellantis’s board of directors, CDJR is not going to be sold but rather split off exactly like Ferrari was, as its own autonomous company but for the USA solely by March 2025. It’ll be separate from Stellantis but still owned by Exor. The goal of this new “Chrysler Corp/Group” would be to get rid of Peugeot PSA mismanagement and influence.
@ I think they’re gonna have no choice but to do it, with all the Tarriffs and they’re likely going to face severe fines in Europe, so it’s not a matter of if but when this happens which will be around February/March. Tim Kuniskis will take over as CEO of this new “Chrysler Group”.
The Brampton, ON, Canada plant seemed to make a great car. Not sure what's happening now. I work across from the factory and I see vacant lots and a For Sale sign on 20 acres of property... A Gladiator would suit my needs from a size perspective... Lose all the technology, make it mechanical and lower the price.
Yeah.. I heard they were selling off parts of the plant. Not sure what we gain from Tarriff's from our Canada neighbor. Hopefull they'll rethink that one.
As much as I don’t want to see government involvement, especially a car dealer, but…..in this case….I hope it works…… hope the JW/JGW continue production and keep as much American investment/ownership/management. I believe we saw this coming as soon as they left FCA ownership……Tavares destroyed the brands probably quicker than we thought……hopefully it’s not too late to save CDJR…..Chrysler is probably in the worst shape and need more designs, technology selection and marketing. They all have a chance.
Jeep and Ram can be and are profitable. Chrysler and Dodge? Debatable. In any case, they desperately need to bring back the Hemi or devise some other sort of V8 engine. That "Hurricane" just isn't going to cut it, no matter how good it is.
Totally agree. There are lots of things they can do to make the v8 more efficient. Those V8's last forever.. I had a corvette z06 which on the highway got almost 30 mpg.
It's pie in the sky but if I were going to use the Chrysler label it would be to make limited production number modernized art deco cars with lavish interiors. The have such a rich history with some of the most interesting iconic vehicles it'd be a shame not to have some link to that for the company. With all the resto-mods and companies selling old designs like kits it seems like a niche that could be utilized. Dodge is basically the fleet vehicle company. I'm not sure the Rams ever should have been seperated out. Anything that companies buy in the hundreds or thousands should be there.
Chryslers don't sell because there are no Chrysler models to sell. Simple. When they produced the 6.4 limited edition Chrysler with only 2000 units, I think they sold out in hours. Give Chrysler a 6.4 or more and a refreshed interior, and they will sell as many as they can make along with its sibling Dodge Charger Hellcat.
Hey my friend there I spoke to you when you made a video back about 2 weeks ago and you gave me a couple of likes and I told you about TK's garage and OC motivator and you made like five videos and I subscribe to your channel and I had to go to your channel to find out cuz I'm not getting any of your videos like I said man I have all the info you want man map that you keep me let you keep me getting your video cuz I'm not I'm not receiving them

@@drdetroitwheels Thanks Ralph !! I live in Vegas.. same as TK. Never met him. I'm just a small channel. It's fun reporting on all this Stellantis drama though. Hoping the CDJR brand comes out of it in a much better position. Love my Wrangler.
Even though the Gladiator is a lil small for my needs, I have always liked the way they look and I don’t wanna see the MOPAR brands gone, reading comments below I don’t care how brand loyal you may be, that families that are effected and people, I can’t imagine not feeling empathy for others😒
Move the plant out of the USA to where you dont get screwed by the unions. There has to be some way to make cars as cheaply as other parts of the world.
You could make them in the US with low labor costs if you can find a couple of thousand people who'd work on an assembly line for $2.50 an hour. Guess good wages are fine for thee but not for me.
@@robertjones7565 Big Auto is certainly not easy. We've gotta find a way to be competetive without manufacturing everything overseas. People gotta eat.

I don't think it's too late at all. There are a lot of diehard mopar fans. We're not asking for much. Just give us an affordable good car.
No one would buy them. If Stellantis could sale the U.S. assets they would, but they can't.
They are still a profitable brand. They are Stellantis' cash cow. We'll see. Likely they will just divest into seperate company.
The Chrysler family offered to buy it back just recently

They still sell a crapload of Pacifica's. But yeah, they do't make much. Hope this is changing soon.

Understand the cheap labor overseas, but I disagree with taking away american jobs.
