Apologies for the late comment - I’m just catching up on this weeks’s viewing. in Feb we moved to Scotland after a lifetime of living in the south of England. Your video reminded me that decades ago my parents’ preferred method of travelling to Scotland was to put the car on the motorail train at Brockenhurst and they would have a sleeper compartment. Looking back, Brockenhurst seems such an unlikely location for this service.
The Isle of Wight is stunning, Very historic with so many beautiful places to visit on the island, We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and are planning to return in the very near future
Hi Bob Jenny & Poppy, I've just found this vid. Lovely to watch as we used to go to Black Knowl when our kids were young in our caravan. My sister in law lived in Lymington and then Milford on sea I love all around there thankyou x
More wonderful memories from my childhood, during the war sometime when Hatchet Pond was frozen Dad and his mate drove an Austin 7 across the ice!!! Thank you both so much for taking me back. One Dad's ancestor lived in Beaulieu Rails and was fined for encroaching his garden onto the Forest. Take care.
Love today's vlog. My aunt lived in East Boldre and I drove regularly from Wimborne to see her. All across the New Forest and through Lymington. We are now miles away in W Australia.
Great Vlog Bob and jenny. This is home turf for me. A sleepy place Barton on sea and definitly not like it used to be nowt so strange as folk. Hope you enjoyed the day though. Thanks for sharing
Got really homesick watching you travelling round East End and Beaulieu. East Boldre is very special to me. You drove past my Aunt’s House and the Church were she is buried. I got quite emotional xx
Hi Bob & Jenny (Poppy) On your way to Black Knowl when you were driving along the A31 near Ringwood, you were about a mile from where I live, should have waved. I have parked my my Auto Trail Delaware in the same spot at Barton-on-Sea car park, I did wonder if anyone would say anything when I was there, also the car park was empty.
Great vlog Bob and Jenny! I’m glad you didn’t get a ticket in that car park! Looks a really love place, I’ve always wanted to visit the new forest as I love horses, donkeys etc! Enjoy x
Love the New Forest and one reason why I am getting a Motorhome to spend more time there, but even in a car when we pulled out a camping stove to make a cup of tea the local's were frowning at us. Car Park attendants came over, no issues with us at all. Tickets paid for and again only about 3 vehicles in the car park. Such a shame the locals are like this to visitors
Another great video, I’ve really enjoyed this series, your tour looks great. Really fancy a visit to this area generally, another to add to the list.👍🏻
Nice being able to park up and see the sea! I forgot to mention from yesterdays video. You mentioned the gun noise when at Thetford CMHC Site. Bodney Camp is not far away and has a lot of MOD property around it, including firing ranges. That's why you could hear the big Guns! We hear it too, its not often fortunately. Many Regiments stay there including The Household Cavalry, who usually have an Open Day there early July. Sometimes they take the Horses to Holkham for a run in the sea! :-)
@@BobEarnshawMoHo I work near Mildenhall Airbase and we see the Ospreys all the time, noisey things! I do Warranty work on the new US cars for the Air man! In Norfolk where we live we get F15s from Lakenheath, Tyfoons, C130s, Apaches and often at night! 😒
good job on the forward thinking there Bob if you had put one ticket on, there would have be two on when you got back watch out for them speed cameras on te Isle of Wight
I can't believe that people are so interested in seeing if you have paid for 2 parking spots! Does this happen often to you both? It must take the charm off your lovely day trips if it does. I guess some people must be jealous of your stunning vehicle. I loved seeing the animals wondering around. Bit of a shock if you turn a corner and see a cow in the road though.
Lovely video. I look forward to to watching them every day when you both and Poppy are on tour. Also looks some lovely places to visit. So I’ve written them down and they are on the to visit list. Also great soundtrack towards the end of the video really good thankyou
Is it possible to tell me who are the group that sings on this video and on one of the times you have driven on the side of Loch Ness it’s driving me mad . Just can’t catch the words to look it up
@Bob Earnshaw Thank you so much for your reply have now found the piece of music that has driven me mad trying to find it , I don’t know what we would have done without your videos over the past 12 months, we have caravanned and Motor-homed for 40 plus years and have revisited nearly all of them again through you and Jenny a lot of them have changed considerably but we sit and drive there with you both so once again thank you
I bet the guy who was watching you park rang the council man, car park was empty anyway ohh some folks. Isle of White is beautiful, be nice to see it again :)
It has a safety mechanism that prevents the fridge from igniting on gas for 15 minutes after the ignition is switched off. Ideally you should switch off the gas supply to the fridge when travelling.
Blimey Bob, you ruffled their feathers in Barton on Sea.....But anything ruffles feathers in Barton on Sea, it's a bit sleepy. You were the excitement of the day, the local council probably called a COBRA meeting.
Well Bob cant b leve you have never been to the iow before go every year to a big classic 2 day car show in my1973 bedford ha van great campsites there aswell
Motor homes got a bad name near me where they parked up near beaches and proceeded to leave bags or even worse, just heaps of faeces in the sand dunes. I know they had no services available during lockdown but still no excuse. Obviously you are not in that category and are obviously very thoughtful, but some others give it the bad name.
Sadly these are usually the more noticeable types who purposely buy a motorhome specifically not to have to pay for sites. Unfortunately, no one remembers the decent folk who pay overnight sites and then again for both spaces whilst out and about, leaving not a trace after they’ve gone, but everyone remembers the other variety! We have but them to blame.
That's the Avtex Tourer Two we normally have in the motorhome. The deep male voice is the VW sat nav, perhaps due for sex change, if I could figure out how...
How community is it with farm animals on the loose on the laines in Brittan? Here in Sweden on the country side the cow's some times brake loose when they think the food on the feeld are to bad, but that is less than five times during more than twenty years.🐂🐄🐮,🐗(community as wild boars are)!🕊
Great Video as always 👍👍👌🤩 That is such a shame you were treated as if you were doing something wrong when you parked up. You were very considerate buying two tickets in that quiet carpark. Thankfully you managed to speak to the enforcement officer but it certainly makes you think if you were a little further away and didn't see him , what may have been the outcome!! Its a shame that responsible MH owners are all treated the same thanks to a minority of rule breakers. 😡 Hope it didn't spoil your day. Thanks for posting 👍
There’s probably no one in the car park due to the hostile welcome ! Places like this that rely on tourism really need to get their act together. Plenty of land there to put a Motorhome only area with clear guidance on stay conditions.
Another great video Bob and Jenny , one fault down this way is parking charges it’s not cheap , we’re from Yorkshire and like to save our cash 😂 but if you need to see places like us then we need to pay grrrrrrrr 😂, we’re back home tomorrow enjoy rest of your holiday or time away xx
I had visions of some one watching you through a pair of binoculars then ringing the council! The more I travel around ‘England’ (not Scotland) I get the feeling that our motorhome community are becoming more like social pariahs. Most upsetting
Thanks for that question. Feel free to look it up, but, my motorhome carbon footprint is far less than flying. Here's just one article www.davan.co.uk/general-news/uk-caravan-holidays-reduce-your-holiday-carbon-footprint/ For every 5000 miles travelled in a motorhome averaging 30 mpg about 2 tonnes of CO2 are produced. A single flight for one person from London to Barcelona produces around half a tonne of CO2. So if you take more than two European flights a year, a family of four will produce more CO2 than a whole year's motorhoming for a family of four.
Love your Sat Nav Captain Bob ! I Have just bought a new one for the MH ! It was the U2 SAT NAV !! But its faulty ! Got to get a refund, 🥲 when I switch it on ,, The Streets Have no Names !! 😂😂😂
Great video as usual x

Yes what a great idea that was, putting vehicles on trains for long distance travel!
Thanks enjoyed it,

Wow, don't think you'd risk that these days, with near two ton cars!
I spent my summer holidays with my Aunt, who lived opposite the Forest near Hatchet Pond. Wonderful memories x
I've booked Black Knowl for October - these videos are extremely helpful.
Great site.
Great to see you using What3Words
Love today's vlog. My aunt lived in East Boldre and I drove regularly from Wimborne to see her. All across the New Forest and through Lymington.

Yes, we enjoyed the peace and quiet there.
The Isle of Wight is a lovely island. Lots to see and do and beautiful, well kept roads to drive around on.
Another great video, Bob, Jenny and poppy. Keep up the good work 👍
New Forest is beautiful. That would be great to see in autumnal colour. Liked Hatchet Pond. Look forward to seeing you on IOW. Safe travels.
I. O. W is truly wonderful we try to stay at the Orchards it a brilliant site preferably out of season

Just a thought, we carry a mains/12v Fridge in the boot for shopping trips.
Yes, good idea, I have thought about getting a 12v cooler to replace our non 12v coolbox.
Good video enjoyed this
Glad to hear it
Nice video as all ways Bob & Jenny it's all ways nice to see them .

Yes, it's strange isn't it, like that scene in "A Werewolf in London" when he walked into the pub in Yorkshire.

It was only small arms fire we heard at Corfe Castle but at Thetford they brought out the big guns, plus we had US Ospreys flying low too last year.

I always get two tickets if it's two spaces, better safe than sorry. Not sure how you can get two tickets on one of the parking apps though.
You could say this was a trip to Cows and the Isle Wight.😉 👍
Good one as usual. 😁👍

You don't usually see farm animals wondering about in most of the UK, only seems to be in the New Forest in England and the Highlands of Scotland.
