To all the people saying, this guy can only dunk... Bingo! He is here to give us just that. Dunking. And it`s f***ing amazing. Hang time after the dunks is unbelievable.
@EliasJordan3 as litewright said, when he was younger. i've seen older footage and i know he can get that high. Though, Kadour here at 33, doesn't display as much hops. You're right about Golden Child getting up there, but they are different types jumpers, 2 footer and 1 foot leaper. Basically, Kadour used to have 56" leap, but not anymore... but still pretty good though.
hes talking about his running vertical... and hes 33 now he may not have a 56" vert now but maybe when he was younger and the clips when he has his afro he could fly over 50 when hes kicking as high as he can he has to get his leg up there as well as jump as high as possible... so don't expect that to be his maximum jump
I'm sure a lot of muscles play a small part, but I'll give you two reasons. 1. Think of the motion you do when you jump off of two feet. What exercise most closely resembles that? The leg press of course, which is your thights and glutes. 2. Vince Carter is a great example also...it's hard to get a good pic but if you google vince olympics you can find a good shot of him dunking over Weis from behind. Garnett's back is in the middle of the picture. You can tell his glute muscles are huge.
he jumps higher than almost anyone, yet he didnt gain any muscle the secret(s) behind his vertical, is that he strechtes in every single way, with every single part of his lower body. Thats alot At least thats what he told us. btw he can go hard on the basket without shoes cause he got the slave feet! (he don't get blisters or injuries, etc.)
i see what your saying, the majority of the vertical jump videos i've seen on youtube are with bent legs, so i got confused. i completely forgot they have to be straight legged. Is there a specific name for it then? and would you be able to estimate a vertical leap from a bent legged vertical?
true, VC's body control comes from his basketball skills. ability to dribble and cut and rebound etc. VC is clearly the best dunker to ever walk this planet because...1. He's 6'6" 220, athletes over 6'4" naturally have a harder time controlling their body than a sub 6 footer... 2. He competed at the elite levels, NCAA D1, NBA and the Olympics where he dominated with dunking... Lastly 3. VC's dunking prime was not only his early NBA years, but it started from 12th grade 17yrs old, 2 about 26-27
Did you see the first dunk they showed from the highlights? He purposely stopped himself so he could kiss the rim, but he's clearly able to get his neck above the rim.
@EliasJordan3 the way his vertical is measured (as with everyone else) is that from a standing position you raise your arms to it's highest point as a control point, then the highest point you touch during your jump is the vert measurement. if they measure by hangtime, it would be pointless, meaning that a would record long jumper would have the vertical of 80 inches.... pointless. At 5'11 he sure gets his head level with the rim a lot longer than golden child, and further out too.
I believe Usain Bolt keeps his weights light-ish compared to alot of other sprinters. When i made that comment i had other sprinters such as dwain chaimbers in mind. They couldnt jump kick like him but definetly jump as high
I haven't seen anyone jumping like Ziani (specially when he was younger, that's when his leaping ability was 56''). OK, actually there are high-jumpers, who have that sort of flying of 2-phases (Stefan Holm & Linus Thörnblad, both Swedish). From dunkers, Wayne "Above & Beyond" Clark has the best leap at the moment 'cause he dunked on a 12'2'' (3,70 m) basket! beating Harlem Globetrotters' Michael "Wild Thing" Wilson's 12'1''.
uh no.. his true vertical is 39 inches, it says on the slamnation website. That is not the highest vertical worldwide, i jump 40 inches. His 1 leg vert...thats another story. But 1 legged verts arent real verts
omg this guy is crazaay! but i dont no how he can do it. his legs arent as muscular as most other jumpers. it looks like he never worked them out. hes gifted
@4cellar2door0 oh god... must of been much more sleepy then I thought last night. it really is like getting drunk. Well, glad it's worth a good laugh. =)
im talking about the clip at like 55secs in this vid when he was younger and had longer hair it didn't mean his hair made him jump higher i never seen him jump 56 inches either but i can't prove he hasn't so im not going to say he can't
You have to have dribbling abilities to dunk "in game". Unless all your dunks are alley oops, or passes from team-mates close to the basket. But at some point, a dunker is going to have to create a shot for himself off the dribble.
You can't prove from this one clip that his maximum vertical leap is NOT 56". I've never seen him do a straight vertical leap standing, so I'll have to take his word for it.
To all the people saying, this guy can only dunk...
Bingo! He is here to give us just that. Dunking.

17 years later, hey😮
i saw him do this in real life its amazing
verticle jump is measured by taking one step and jumping straight upward off of two feet...not a running start from the other side of the studio
that double windmill was INSANE

difference between standing reach and max reach
ex. i have a standing reach on 7'3", my max reach is 9'9", therefor i have a 30" vertical
on en.wikipedia it says he has a vertical leap of 57 inches
'He has the highest Vertical Jump in the world which is 57 inches' quoted from wikipedia
this guy is amazing
the announcer to that show is my uncle the one talking about the dodge in the beggining

9'9"? The first ever Ripley's Believe it or Not cartoon back in like 1920 listed some athlete doing a high kick of 10'2".

he gets his shoulders above the rim
