    You need to measure the voltage to get the actual power consumption. Voltage can vary greatly!

    Like every time it's a wonderful project Sachin. But the main thing is that, the (Amp) showing this this device is it same as our "Electricity Meter" we use in our house ? Because if it's not same there will be a huge gap between our "Electricity Meter" consumption rate (Rs.) and our IOT device energy consumption (Rs.) value. Pls clarify how to solve this. Thanks Bro for ur wonderful projects.

    • @techiesms
      @techiesms  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First of all
      The traditional energy meter don’t shows Amps they show the units which corresponds to kWh
      Second of all, the price calculated by my formula gives an estimate and not the exact value. As in practical the prices per unit changes with number of units as well. Like their is less rate per unit under 200 units like that and other thing is that in practical electricity bills there are several taxes and fixed charges included
      So the amount shown in the display is just a rough figure about how much our appliances are consuming

      @@mountrat To do this, you would have to put a CT around each leg of your mains, in Canada we have 2 x 120, you would then have to add the total current for each leg in your sketch. I have built this very thing for my home.

    Superb Video!! Your editing skills are improving every time I see your video! I like the schematic made by you in the video. One suggestion is to use Fritzing Software to make breadboard designs, perfboard/stripboard, schematic and pcb designs. I have used it and I have very good experience with it. It will make airing and routing much easier with autorouter, drc, easy to add parts and built in part editor.

    You are not monitoring the real power, but apparent power here, also assuming constant voltage and in phase V-I. This needs to take the power factor into account, which should be measured in the mcu. For that both the instantaneous voltage and current values must be sensed, multiplied and integrated.
