I actually like this idea cause this might explain why she went mad. She cant tell anyone about her nightmares and all her nightmares spiral from her guilt. The guilt she feels for mosskit, the guilt she feels for snowfur, possibly the guilt she feels for swiftpaw and brightheart. Imagine ever night she wakes up in what seems to be the dark forest, swiftpaw and mosskit chase her down everynight because she knows their deaths were her fault, the guilt she feels for moonflower and snowfur knowing their deaths could have been prevented if it wasnt for her maybe they even glare at her in the dream because they know how many rules of the code shes broken despite being a leader, maybe she even has to watch oakfur and redtail die in her dream also blaming herself, feeling guilty she didnt know about tigerclaw sooner and feels terrible for praising him, she sees the pain goldenflower bramblekit and tawnykit have to go through because of who their father is, having to watch stonefur die, having to watch her kits grow up with a false mother and a lonely father. She has to see this, EVERY NIGHT. Seeing both parts of the future and the terrible present. It drives her completley insane.

Warriors spoilers Mosskit is the spotted kitten. Bluestar is the other cat and her mother. Bluestar let her kits away to be with their father in a snowstorm, there were three, but only mosskit died. She froze to death, hence the snow themes and ice on her face.

Can we talk about how literally everyone is so good at animating the scenes where she’s chaotically running away? Like- It’s so good everyone did an amazing job on this-
All I can get from this, is Mosskit is warning her. Tigerclaw jumps at her at one point in the dream, and when she widens her eyes at the end that’s when she would notice Tigerclaw towering over her. Which is a genuinely amazing idea. Mosskit is trying to wake her up so that Tigerclaw won’t get there on-time. He’s there to say, ‘get back up’, ‘it’s not safe’. ❤
the part that gives me the most chills is "I am you" indicating how mosskit is just a smaller version of bluestar, she kept going until she had had enough, like bluestar in the first arc.

It is said that Cats have the ability to see the supernatural, and in a world like Warriors when the dead literally visit the living in some form on a semi regular basis and even have the ability to manifest physically in recent books... imagine how terrifying this sequence would be
Oh god, I would die, also since I get scared easily, and I’m a person who try to scream, but can’t because then I would lose my breath, and then the thing chasing me would get me. I’m also really slow, also I’m really clumsy, so I would smash into the closest thing there. And I would not, for the life of me, leave without my dog!
Everyone is saying it's Mosskit's ghost. I feel this is Bluestar's guilt weighing heavily on her chest. If you guys remember, even the moments of her final breath, she bore so much underlining guilt when Mosskit AND Oakheart died. This being said, she could have seen a dream demon of a sort, playing with her, toying her memories into an emotional rollercoaster fueled by massive Guilt alone. When she saw Mosskit's bones, she felt like bringing the pieces together to aide in relieving said guilt only worsened the demon's actions, forcing Bluestar to only run more, plunging into death as she awakens to stare at the problems her actions with Oakheart made. Edit 8 Months later: 1.4k, 23 Replies, OMFG- I was not expecting so much attention from this logical theory! Thank you so much! TwT Made my day! I am a new warrior cats fan. While I am far enough in the books(I’m at the power of three arc) to know about mosskits death,I’d just like to say this is the first warrior cats MAP I’ve ever seen. I’m thankful it introduced me to the fandom,everyone that made it did very well!
I’ve been reading for 5 years now and am on the newest series, A starless Clan. Just so you know the books go downhill after Omen of the Stars. Not gonna spoil but they aren’t the good
I believe this MAP has a deeper meaning. Basically, the deeper meaning is that Mosskit isn’t actually there; it’s just a darkness inside Bluestar. It’s her guilt for letting Mosskit die that is haunting her, not Mosskit herself. The ice also makes sense cause it’s how Mosskit died, and Bluestar fears that’s how she’s going to die too. That’s my theory about what this MAP is about at least. Also I loved coming back to this and watching it in October to get ready for the Halloween season.

This MAP is kinda sad because Mosskit just wants to be with her mother but she's accidentally hurting her and doesn't realize it. Some people say Mosskit is doing it intentionally, but I don't think so. She seems so sweet and innocent, blind to the reality of what she's doing.
It could be possible that their greetings are misinterpreted as sinister by Bluestar and her panic. I think it was left up to the interpretation of the viewer on whether Moss is evil or not.

I love how a some of the animators made Mosskit’s teeth more visible, like at 1:22, 2:13 and 2:47. It makes it a lot more scary, despite it being normal for kittens to have the usual sharp cat teeth. (It’s scary irl as well, since some people don’t expect such razor jaws from something so cute) I also like when they make Mosskit have pure deadness in her eyes, and how her first appearance was from behind a mossy rock. 🙂👍🏽✨

To me this map is a reflection of bluestars guilt for mosskit’s death. she feels as though it is her fault so she dreams that mosskit has turned against her to avenge her death. but really it is Bluestar’s guilt is the enemy not mosskit. Mosskit is safe in StarClan waiting patiently for her mother who she knew so little of, to join her. This also explains how the lyrics say “I am you.” Because this nightmare-ish version of Mosskit is actually a dark guilt-filled part of Bluestar. I also think the fact that Mosskit grows older represents Bluestar’s fear of Mosskit growing up in StarClan without her. Exactly what I was thinking, too! Didn't Blue go a lil crazy after Tigerclaw tried killing her? It'd make even more sense as she's delving into her own thoughts and insanity, tortured by the things she's done just for a Clan she feels doesn't respect her anymore. (If I remember correctly lmao)

man, mosskit’s bones really got me. i’ve always regarded kit death in warriors as tragic, sure, but seeing that disarticulated, tiny skeleton absolutely chilled me. i haven’t read bluestar’s prophecy in a while - did mosskit even get a proper burial, or did bluefur just have to keep going before the hypothermia took her other babies too? ouch
Eh she got a half burial? Bluefur gave Stormkit and Mistykit to Oakheart and the returned and buried Mosskit. There was no vigil or other ceremonies but Bluefur did bury her properly. I just finished re-reading Bluestar's Prophecy today so the info's still fresh.

I interpreted (did I even spell that right?) it as a reoccurring nightmare that Bluestar dreams due to her guilt of being the cause of her daughter's death
I like the idea that Bluestar is experiencing a nightmare; that's kind of the vibe that I got from this map and I loved it! Bluestar truly felt personally responsible for mosskit's death and I can only imagine what that guilt could have caused for her mind. Overall the work done on this map was gorgeous and the right amount of unsettling and somewhat sad!
This is good quality work everyone’s did great on their parts❤ I especially liked the “Tik tok tik tok” and the “are you afraid of the dark” parts, this is my new favorite map.
honestly if mosskit lived they wouldn't have gotten hardly as much attention and probably would just have been another side character. I'm not saying I'm glad they died, it's so sad D: but like i feel like if they had lived no one would really care about them
I dont think mosskit was intentionally being sinister, i think that they jusy wanted to reunite with their mom and thought they were playing tag or something, and it was misinterpreted as sinister, because around this time on the series bluestar was kinda going crazy, and everything around her felt strange and scary, and hence this dream where in reality it was happy but in bluestar’s perception it was terrifying. Idk if im making any sense, i cant find words anymore lmao

All I can get from this, is Mosskit is warning her. Tigerclaw jumps at her at one point in the dream, and when she widens her eyes at the end that’s when she would notice Tigerclaw towering over her. Which is a genuinely amazing idea. Mosskit is trying to wake her up so that Tigerclaw won’t get there on-time. He’s there to say, ‘get back up’, ‘it’s not safe’. ❤

the part that gives me the most chills is "I am you" indicating how mosskit is just a smaller version of bluestar, she kept going until she had had enough, like bluestar in the first arc.
That last shot of Mosskit’s skeleton gets me every time, especially the *slightest* little movement of the skull.

Everyone is saying it's Mosskit's ghost. I feel this is Bluestar's guilt weighing heavily on her chest. If you guys remember, even the moments of her final breath, she bore so much underlining guilt when Mosskit AND Oakheart died. This being said, she could have seen a dream demon of a sort, playing with her, toying her memories into an emotional rollercoaster fueled by massive Guilt alone. When she saw Mosskit's bones, she felt like bringing the pieces together to aide in relieving said guilt only worsened the demon's actions, forcing Bluestar to only run more, plunging into death as she awakens to stare at the problems her actions with Oakheart made.

I believe this MAP has a deeper meaning. Basically, the deeper meaning is that Mosskit isn’t actually there; it’s just a darkness inside Bluestar. It’s her guilt for letting Mosskit die that is haunting her, not Mosskit herself. The ice also makes sense cause it’s how Mosskit died, and Bluestar fears that’s how she’s going to die too. That’s my theory about what this MAP is about at least. Also I loved coming back to this and watching it in October to get ready for the Halloween season.

This MAP is kinda sad because Mosskit just wants to be with her mother but she's accidentally hurting her and doesn't realize it. Some people say Mosskit is doing it intentionally, but I don't think so. She seems so sweet and innocent, blind to the reality of what she's doing.
It could be possible that their greetings are misinterpreted as sinister by Bluestar and her panic. I think it was left up to the interpretation of the viewer on whether Moss is evil or not.
I feel like This is Bluestars guilt that she blames herself. And this is a nightmare about Her kits death in reality Mosskit is safe in Starclan.

I love how a some of the animators made Mosskit’s teeth more visible, like at 1:22, 2:13 and 2:47. It makes it a lot more scary, despite it being normal for kittens to have the usual sharp cat teeth. (It’s scary irl as well, since some people don’t expect such razor jaws from something so cute) I also like when they make Mosskit have pure deadness in her eyes, and how her first appearance was from behind a mossy rock. 🙂👍🏽✨

To me this map is a reflection of bluestars guilt for mosskit’s death. she feels as though it is her fault so she dreams that mosskit has turned against her to avenge her death. but really it is Bluestar’s guilt is the enemy not mosskit. Mosskit is safe in StarClan waiting patiently for her mother who she knew so little of, to join her. This also explains how the lyrics say “I am you.” Because this nightmare-ish version of Mosskit is actually a dark guilt-filled part of Bluestar. I also think the fact that Mosskit grows older represents Bluestar’s fear of Mosskit growing up in StarClan without her.

man, mosskit’s bones really got me. i’ve always regarded kit death in warriors as tragic, sure, but seeing that disarticulated, tiny skeleton absolutely chilled me. i haven’t read bluestar’s prophecy in a while - did mosskit even get a proper burial, or did bluefur just have to keep going before the hypothermia took her other babies too? ouch
No, Mosskit dosent get a proper burial
Eh she got a half burial? Bluefur gave Stormkit and Mistykit to Oakheart and the returned and buried Mosskit. There was no vigil or other ceremonies but Bluefur did bury her properly. I just finished re-reading Bluestar's Prophecy today so the info's still fresh.
Probably the second even if she could find mosskit she'd have to leave mosskit behind because " a fox got them"
She buried her kit in the frozen ground and tore her claws while doing it, but Mossy never got a vigil or anything like that.
I think that Bluefur just left Mosskit to be eaten be a fox or badger or something. So sad. R.I.P. Mosskit.

I like the idea that Bluestar is experiencing a nightmare; that's kind of the vibe that I got from this map and I loved it! Bluestar truly felt personally responsible for mosskit's death and I can only imagine what that guilt could have caused for her mind. Overall the work done on this map was gorgeous and the right amount of unsettling and somewhat sad!
