Is there a way to leave the factory camera where it is at and purchase a secondary camera for the tire carrier. That way if I remove the carrier I won't need to remove the interior trim to reinstall the camera?
I drive a T3 Diesel Touareg and I'll probably be ordering one of your swing outs and love to see you have this mount available. Pricing beats every other major brand and looks like its just as good if not better. Might be able to add some German chassis to that fitment list soon!
I noticed no guidelines on the camera output, did you just have those disabled in the settings or did they go away when you moved the camera? Also, I'm thinking about this and with a bit of know-how and additional parts (like an extra camera unit, a toggle switch), one could wire this to retain the door camera for when/if they removed the carrier, essentially making the camera location modular. Ambitious, but that's what I'd like to do. (First I will have to buy the carrier - currently saving up but it's on my list!)
Your correct, I disabled the lines in the settings. I personally use it for connecting a trailer more than anything. Definitely easier without the center guide line in the way. I don’t see why you couldn’t add a second camera with a toggle switch. Or a third camera at front and a three way toggle.
