What’s the impact of cutting the frame to your 4R? Understand a steel bumper is more durable than plastic but all your crash rate and safety data are built off the factory frame and design and you’ve changed all of that now. I like the low profile of the bumper but don’t know if I’m ready to cut part of my frame. Doesn’t “attaching to preexisting frame” help with spare sway and durability of the rear bumper? Not being critical of what you’ve done but I think these are questions that need to be answered before moving forward with this product.
Can you feel the spare tire shaking on the bumper while driving with these bumpers? I know it's basically impossible to get rid of all the shake in a swing mounted spare, but that shake feeling can get annoying quick if it's bad.
YOU CAN DEFINITELY SEE AND FEEL THE SHAKE WITH THIS BUMPER, ITS PRETTY BAD IN MY BUDDYS 5TH GEN. THATS ONE OF THE DOWNSIDES OF USING 1.5 "SMALL" TUBING FOR THE SPARE
We've have looked at this exact rear bumper cause of the high clearance it has. We want the one with the receiver hitch option so we can be able to pull a trailer when we want as well. I've heard of an option to move the hitch inwards and it actually helps with the tow rating but only seen something about it 1 time before.
I ended up setting all the big bolts to 90ftlbs, and the big 2:17 bolt for the arm to the tightness that made the latch line up with some red locktite.
Looks good, mine should be on in a few weeks 😎👍
How do you like it? I'm looking at getting one. I heard from someone else that the swing out shakes/rattles on the freeway.
That's a winner MAM!!
Badass Runner👍
I wonder why they haven't made one for an FJ Cruiser yet. Great looking bumper!
They need a 3rd Gen install video. Can’t wait for mine to come in.
How much did you pay for shipping

If you're this skeptical, then this hobby isn't for you.
At 4:34 the guy on the right is holding the bumper by the side rail. What’s that side rail part called? And awesome bumper!!!

AWESOME VIDEO. Question though: Is the cutting process clearly defined in the instructions, if any?
Mine didn't come with any instructions at all. This video is the best instruction I've seen so far and mine is going on this weekend.
