Whilst MODOK isn’t my favourite villain, he has been in some of my favourite stories such as Jeph Lobe’s Hulk run and is the reason Thunderbolt Ross is able to turn into the Red Hulk.
I remember collecting marvel universe cards in the 90s, reading all the first appearance dates and realizing a lot of crucial characters debuted in 1963
MODOK in the new Antman movie is probably the same version of Darren Cross from the first one, but at the end it's revealed he was sent to the quantum realm, but improperly, so his body was all messed up so Kang put him in the chair. His brain probably stayed the same size comparative to the rest of his body which will be the reason why his head is so large
I think its the Darren Cross from Antman. When he imploded it actually shrunk him and deformed him while also sending him to the quantum realm. Kang then has him imprisoned, taken care of and gains info from him about Scott, Hank, Hope and Janet. Kang and Darren build the MODOK suit.
This is probably my favourite video in a while. It's much more like the older videos that got me checking out the channel in the first place. This video is more informative and focused, instead of just being loud and saying things are amazing. Loved this video, and learned a lot about a character I knew VERY little about. Would absolutely love to see more videos that feel like this one. It just feels more passionate, which is great. Had me wanting more.

I remember reading the 3 comic run of Modok and the Hulk. Betty gets changed into the Harpy. Hulk flexes his muscles to break Modok's grip. Good memories.
He’s played by the guy who played Yellowjacket, so this is their answer to what happened to him when he was shrunk to oblivion. It’s a great throw back to Scott’s origin.
Please don’t kill him off. I know berry little about MODOK but he’s already looked interesting to me. He doesn’t show up often in non comic book media. Hope they use him more than just this movie.
When I read comics and a panel comes up with "narrator," not "character" dialogue, I always inner-monologue it with Rob's voice. Unless it's Spider-Man/Venom, then it's DopeSpill. But I agree with you.
I think that when Darren Cross shrunk at the end of 'Ant-Man', his head didn't shrink as much as the rest of his body. Then Kang found him and gave him the tech to move around.
Since your doing a run of the smartest people lately, will you do an explanation video on The Leader? Since his potential intelligence can surpass Doom and Reed, I think he is slept on. All he needs is one good story to show how dangerous he can be. Of course I don’t know if his intelligence is affected by his emotions or if it’s just a matter of recording information. In which case he just needs to watch a long video of everything reed has ever done on like 20X speed and he should be as smart as reed is thanks to his computer like brain.
He probably will, though much like this video it'll probably be closer to the Leaders MCU appearance which is Captain America 4 in May 2024. I think he has done stuff with the Leader in the past as well.

I think The MODOK in ant man 3 was Darren cross from the first ant man movie. I think after he got sent to the quantum realm at the end of the first ant man movie kang might have found him and turned him into MODOK.
That’s my theory as well, I also think the armor/chair is tech that either Krylar or Kang equipped him with in order to keep him alive/enhance his abilities or something along those lines.
I actually have a favorite Modok story. In the early 1970s, there was an Iron Man storyline about a supervillain war . Modok had to fight the Claw and built himself a giant robot body to fight in. Modok lost and his giant robot body was smashed to bits .

They weren't unfounded at all. If anything, he underestimated the number of ppl in the government and elsewhere. Read the book titled, 'Venona Papers' if you want a better idea of what was going on in both our countries back then.

Cool video Rob. And any of us that have read comic books, knows this is true. MODOK unfortunately was not taken seriously and turned down into a comedic/insulting role. He was an absolute menace (back then) and it also related correctly with the Iron Man cartoon tv series from the 90s (yes, he was more a henchman of The Mandarin but still, he was a serious character) and for the very least, he was serious on that awful cartoon Avengers Assemble. Other than that and in comic books, not so. And let's hope the MCU MODOK is a serious one and not a mediocre slap of cheap-455 comedic form (although, personally I don't like the idea that they are recycling actors for other characters that will be the case of Darren Cross, but, that's for the very least of my worries looking in hindsight)
I wish they would do an old school rubber mask type modok… monster villain like they made in the thing and in the 80’s monster movies.. animatronics ultimate challenge could be so cool

That would kick MODOK up a notch and establish a foundation of power and dangerousness for the comics to make him relevant again

the suit is part of his yellow jacket one. it fuised to his body and shrunk his hands and legs, kangs technology helped him to stay alive.
