Creepshow’s inclusion of “The Raft” fucked me up as a kid. Thoroughly scared me from the moment I saw it through the end of childhood. But never got over it, just kinda blocked it. Don’t really remember it. That is until my dad brings it up just to mess with me…successfully.
I don't know. It's hard to find something like "The Mangler" terrifying, once you find out the machine in question has been called a mangler since long before King wrote about it. I had a friend who worked a mangler in a commercial cleaners all day long, and I never felt like I was never going to see her again after I dropped her off at work all those times. Never heard about how one of her coworkers got eaten by one when I picked her up. I don't know...
I thought Gramma and The Boogeyman were very frightening. Graveyard Shift wasn't bad either. I love those stories about very old "things" and the feeling of exploring while going deeper and deeper into older constructions. This aspect also was very frightening to me in Pet Sematary (The story of the "real" very old cemetery of the Mi'kmaq) and in It with the sewerage and the "little door" beneath it (- and also the history of Derry and It).
I enjoyed this video, but what the hell is with all the out-of-place, unrelated AI art…? A courtroom sketch in the middle of a discussion about 1408…? A family of puritans during the discussion of the Jaunt? The pile of what look like Victorian homeless people in the same segment…? It’s just…a jarring choice.
The Raft short story from his book was truly horrifying, and the Jaunt was great and hair- raising too, but i don't see how the Children of the Corn had been included in this list, even if i hadn't seen it, in which im not even interested.. 😂😂
Another video making it evident that whoever writes these scripts have only ever read a synopsis of the subject matter they’re covering. I really love the topics covered on this channel but the actual content is always at least slightly off when it comes to accurately describing the topic.
That's cause King is literally THE King of Horror/Suspense. His writing style has a way of really pulling you into the story, he's amazing!!
he sure is he's the granny daddy of all Horror Movies 🍿🔪😈
1408 is drastically underrated and needs more people to appreciate it, I absolutely loved it.
I only know the movie and I thought it was very good.
Thanks for another great video! I remember watching The Raft in a sunday afternoon and got terrified, as I was scared of swimming lol
The short story The Moving Finger (from Nightmares & Dreamscapes) made me legitimately terrified of all water drains for a good long while! 😅😂
11:36 the didn’t take a raft,
they swam to the raft, in the middle of the lake
Did you actually read any of these?
Exactly. Like when he explained the Jaunt. It didn't malfunction, the boy held his breath so he could see how long it took and it drove him insane.
1408 might be the scariest thing he's written. It's surreal, reading it makes you feel like you're tripping
5:07 He intentionally stayed awake, just to see.

Creepshow 2
You forgot the 10o’clock people.
Informative. Live long and prosper.😇🖖
I absolutely love "The Bone Church " ...
The jaunt is hands-down the scariest of the bunch that is f****** terrifying

Correction regarding the raft D does not jump into the water the thing grabs his foot and pull him under the raft or through the raft directly
N. is also a video on TH-cam. You can find it easily.
Actually in the jaunt, the boy held his breath to see what would happen.
correct....wasnt a malfunction
They used the cover of the wrong Boogeyman movie in the thumbnail.
Great end reveal, in the boogeyman story!.
There was not a malfunction in the Jsunt equipment. The son feigned breathing in the sleep gas because he wanted " to see"

Wiwowo😊
Love king books and movies but he always had a author as a main character or side character lol 😂😂😂
Part 2 please

His woke progressive tweets are scary
