Just got to the end and wanted to say - I very much appreciated the commentary at the end. So many streamers shy away from saying things that might alienate viewers (and let's face it - stating that climate change is a fact does trigger some out there). Big thumbs up from an Aussie who has been watching the effects of climate change upfront and personal down here.
Brent, I love your channel! Your painting is always on point, but it's the relaxing tone of your voice, your unbridled wholesomeness, and your love for painting that really elevate things to another level. It's like watching Bob Ross paint. Keep being you, and please keep releasing awesome content.
Dang man. I really loved your thoughts on charity and speaking out. I subbed because of your painting earlier today but i know now ill stay subbed because of who you are. thank you, man. Bless up.
I love that you include your cats, Crossroad Games! Too cool, recently got involved in miniatures myself, I will come into the store this weekend coming up. Wow, small world
I had no idea this hobby existed. It is really quite fascinating and the beautiful workmanship really makes the models visually stunning. I myself have too many hobbies in my retirement where stringed instrument building for myself is horribly addicting, so I'll leave this one to others else I'll end up in a 12 step program.
I got a tabletop game when I was a kid, but it went over my spazzy head sadly. Now I'm an adult I want to grt into it so badly but too much chaos and bad Feng shui as is, if I got into it right now it would tip the scales for chaos and not in the cool way 🤣 I'm going to get there though, I don't know if I'll ever be able to "get into" the tabletop, but I want to paint/kit bash minis so badly. I've put in like 200 hours into total warhammer 3 over the past few weeks and all that's missing is painting my own space shark army

Man, I'm falling in love with this channel. First video I saw, I thought, "man, goobertown is the perfect name, dude is straight goofy." But most of his videos are this great Bob Ross style of videos, great to hobby too. After a stressful day, I like to cook dinner for my family with this playing, as well as when I build/paint or just research techniques as I enjoy my hobby. He has helped keep me inspired. To the point where I have zero pile of shame, and only like 10 models left to finish painting (but most are at least 90% complete).
"I'm going to bring these chaos warriors to completion" Uhhh... "No body is going to leave this video unsatisfied* *Uhh...* "I don't care how long it takes I'm going to finish off all these guys," **Uhh........** "All these horses" Ummmm "And the carkadrak" *Uhh excuse me?*

Late to the party on this one, but using a stiff piece of flexible plastic to align the edge of the putty with the edge of the plastic base, and preserving that taper of the plastic base, might make the edge look cleaner and more intentional.
IS THIS THE MOST WHOLESOME MINI CHANNEL ON TH-cam? YES. I watch Miniac alot because of the style he has in models and the aesthetic of the channel. But he steered me over here and I love it!

Using your platform to communicate science to the public is a power move, and I salute you for that, sir!

Damn. Gotta respect that skill, you're a really talented painter. I physically can't paint anywhere near that quickly! I take 3 hour plus on everything, even small sized models because I love taking the smallest paintbrush known to man with a jewelers magnifying glass up strapped to my head, and making every single model no matter how small extremely detailed and UNIQUE. I love adding little details that no one else will ever notice but me so everything feels personal...a missing tooth on a guardsman here, droopy eye on an ork there, you get the idea. Plus, then I get more fun relaxing painting time out of less money! :D But a whole army in 24h??? Insanity. Bow to that awesomeness, love your channel dude
I've never watched any of your videos but this is amazing. Not just the task, but your presentation, your voice is so soothing that is perfect to have in the background. Entertaining and educational. By Khorne that colour scheme is beautiful.
You are an amazing painter! I want to start a Tyranid army but I’m so busy painting a Seraphon army over the last months that I don’t think I will ever get to start a 40K collection. And they don’t look half as good as your minis!
Hey thanks! What colors are you doing for those two armies? I have tyranids and lizardfolk around here and I can't decide what color to make them, there are so many choices! :-)
Goobertown Hobbies I’m using a normal (box art inspired, kantor blue, sotek green, etc...) color for the saurus warriors but my creatures are getting some real crazy colors. My cold ones are warpstone green, my carnosaur is genestealer purple with deep red scales and a dark purple rim. As for my Slann he is sky blue with a very bright and pale green to make his belly pop out (gauss blaster green, an awesome color). Don’t have a tyranid army yet but I plan to paint them deep red with dark blue or purple
@@nautilusshell6092 Cool! Yeah as long as the basic troops are a standardized color scheme you can really go nuts on all of the different dinosaurs, that sounds great. I'm actually toying with the idea of making warm color lizards and using goblin green bases... we'll see... :-)
@@GoobertownHobbies Naturally it doesn't have to be a 24 hour challenge! But just painting a big boxset with Brent is both fun and soothing whilst painting and the likes.
Found this channel last night and subscribed almost right away for the wonderful "Nerdy Bob Ross" style energy, but now I'm proud to have done so. I really appreciate you taking the opportunity to address climate change during a video like this. There's all kinds of things you could've used that time to discuss but I'm glad you brought this up. Thanks, Brent!
I found your channel the other day and have been more or less binging your videos since then, and I don't usually comment on videos because I don't usually have a lot to say, but gosh, your videos are fantastic. Your commentary isn't only super chill and relaxing, but also smart and thoughtful. You take time out of your day to address important topics, and I'm not only talking about the climate change part, but also the part where you tell people to listen to their bodies if they're doing 24h challenges, and you even say that you don't recommend it. It just, idk, makes me happy to hear stuff like that. All that's left for me to say is that i hope you're doing your wrist stretches during and after all of this :)
Health advice, when you're sitting for longer periods of time, roughly each hour you should stand up walk around the table, stretch a bit and sit down again, helps blood circulation and avoids thrombosis. That's also for those that are watching !
Hey, just wanted to say your content is very chill and enjoyable. Watching you have fun with the hobby at your own pace has re-ignited my passion for minis.I sometimes forget I don't have to all in or nothing with a hobby, eventually burning as I have many times in the past... When you stated that "If you aren't having fun anymore, just stop." It really spoke to me. Time for a new approach. :D
I've just started into this hobby, and I have to say your videos have made me much more ambitious and are always an enjoyment! I managed to get a 'know no fear' box for cheap as well as a few side plague marines, and so it looks like I will be playing chaos!
I have been searching for a miniature painting TH-cam channel and this seems like the right place! I paint miniatures from board games, not Warhammer, but your videos are filled with great tips that I can use. Currently working on Blood Rage.
If I didn’t know better, I’d a thought I was having a stroke. I’d figure I would watch this video for one more bit of inspiration, inspiring myself to break out the paints after what feels like a hundred years. Then the narration turns to climate change, a topic the wife and I are very much concerned with, and I am served the clearest, calmest, most direct discussion of this most pressing issue I have ever heard. I am not a scientist. I teach in the humanities. And it has been tough these past few years. But this video gives me hope for our species and our civilization. You are an example of how good we can be.
A lot of cameras can do time lapses which is just a sequence of photos where you set the interval (a photo every 10 seconds for instance). If you do that, then the file actually isn't gigantic, especially compared to a actual 24hr video 😂. It looks like he's using a panasonic g7 or gh5 or something. You can also use any sony mirror less as they have a time lapse app (a4000, a6000, a73, etc.) Hope this helps!
Really good video, second time watching/listening while making some objective markers for my Gloomspite Gitz, which are mostly stinky Troggoths really, love the thoughtfulness towards the end. @@GoobertownHobbies what gave it away? Haha
I just built my Start Collecting: Slaves to Darkness and prepped them with primer but have been feeling a little down lately about my hobby. This has encouraged me to get back on painting them!

You are an amazing painter, but more than that you are an awesome human being. Don't ever change.
Yes, this is precisely how I would imagine a lord of chaos to sound
It would be very chilling if the chaos lord took his gore-encrusted helmet off and just looked like a normal guy with a smile and a kind voice.

@Johnny Walker It's not propaganda though. It's scientific fact. You're the one choosing to ignore this and make it political.

@@terreausore2435 I was undecided but after watching this it is kind of sad to see Brent deleting multiple comments from this conversation but still allow you to call people morons. Kind of proves that the other side is right when one person has to delete the other argument so that people don't see it.
I'm late in commenting, but thank you for sharing your talents and passion with us, Brent. The world needs more people like yourself.
I was wondering why there were so many down votes, then I realized people hate whenever you talk about important issues like being kind and accepting or, Chaos Gods forbid, science. Thank you for doing that, for being a voice of reason, for always being kind, and for making a difference.
dude your paint job on these models is excellent! very nice work, you have inspired me to practice even more
I absolutely LOVE your attitude! I've been in the hobby for over 20 years. About 8 years ago, I had about $5000 worth of models, terrain, and painting materials stolen from me. Over the past year, I've been slowly been rebuilding my hobby (paints, models, etc.) I'm finally starting to paint again, and it's guys like like you that give me inspiration. Keep fighting the good fight!
I never leave comments, but I just have to say that I've just put in over 30 hours of work at my job in 3 days, came home and cracked open a beverage, and saw this video. I know nearly nothing about Warhammer, but am interested in it, and decided to give this a watch. Ended up watching the whole thing - Your voiceover was great, calming, positive, and the video was fun to watch! You are very talented and should keep it up 100% - Thanks for such a great video! :)

PLEASE Brent, can you do a video on how to actually read and understand the build guides, as a beginner they are incredibly confusing and NO ONE on TH-cam has made a video explaining how to understand the GW build guides.
@Johnny Walker I actually didn't prescribe a specific course of action and I'm not at all anti-plastic. please don't strawman me :-)

Now a few hundred dollars later im delving deeper & deeper into this fantastic hobby. Im learning new skills & having alot of fun so THANK YOU BRENT !!!
Four years later in this video is still paying for itself. What an amazing documentation of effort, passion, editing, and all-around awesomeness. Hope you are still finding inspiration daily and enjoying your craft! Now back to building my massive army and painting.
Fantastic video, as always.

That is my favorite game store, I lived 5 houses away on Rte 35 for years, all of my Pathfinder gear was purchased there, as well as some mtg cards. From ME? Too cool, recently got involved in miniatures myself, I will come into the store this weekend coming up. Wow, small world
Nice! It's always good to have an excuse to swing by Crossroad Games :-)
I had no idea this hobby existed. It is really quite fascinating and the beautiful workmanship really makes the models visually stunning. I myself have too many hobbies in my retirement where stringed instrument building for myself is horribly addicting, so I'll leave this one to others else I'll end up in a 12 step program.
hehehe, thanks for stopping by! enjoy your strings :-)
I got a tabletop game when I was a kid, but it went over my spazzy head sadly. Now I'm an adult I want to grt into it so badly but too much chaos and bad Feng shui as is, if I got into it right now it would tip the scales for chaos and not in the cool way 🤣
I'm going to get there though, I don't know if I'll ever be able to "get into" the tabletop, but I want to paint/kit bash minis so badly.
I've put in like 200 hours into total warhammer 3 over the past few weeks and all that's missing is painting my own space shark army

This was a great way to take a break from painting my Vanguard Marine Start Collecting box. Helped re-enthuse me :D
Nice! Now get back in there! :-)
This was the first army I started. Was able to finish the warriors but the Knights and chaos lord have lots of intimidating details that I feel am not ready for.
I feel ya buddy, I've just started painting again my self, after a long time, with the AoS Warrior set, and got this starter-set too with high hopes for the future... cos... well....Chaos, lol
Yea, my parcel arrived & with my heart racing like a giddy kid/teenager getting a model plane kit for xmas/b'day, I opened the box up to inspect the quality & detail of the models/figures....
I wasn't disappointed, then the sad realisation set in......
I think that 'future' is a good way off....
Thanks for raising awarness in the second part of your video ! Love how you slowly go from painting minis,to acts of kindness, up to climate change awarness ! The world needs more people like you :)
I found your channel a week or two ago because I thought I wanted to give mini painting a try. Your videos have been informative and an absolute joy to watch... Oh here we go :D, commenting before it has started. 49mins of Goober painting, yes please.
awww yeahhhhh
Bless your soul, man. You are an amazing human being, and your painting skills are really impressive!
Goobertown Hobbies
I’m using a normal (box art inspired, kantor blue, sotek green, etc...) color for the saurus warriors but my creatures are getting some real crazy colors.

Hahaha, looks like it's gotta be chaos! :-)
This world needs more kind people, like yourself. Spectacular build. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Goobertown, what kind of cameras do you use for your marathon videos? I can imagine the files they create are ginormous.
You can also use any sony mirror less as they have a time lapse app (a4000, a6000, a73, etc.)
Hope this helps!
I might have been wrong about him using panasonic cameras, but you get the point lol
@@AlexTheOnay - Seems to me that he has sped-up footage and normal footage from the same camera, and that without physically readjusting the camera.
Hey man thank you for promoting climate awareness! We need more people like you!
