    This provided the context and logic I desperately needed! I’ve only been learning via Duolingo (not the most ideal) + a lot of additional research on the side, and I’m so glad I’ve discovered this video and your channel. Dekuju, ucitelka!

    Very interesting. In Spanish, we have a similar tendency to use the possessive pronouns less than in English, but it's also a bit different from this. For example, "Tengo las manos frías," meaning "I have the hands cold," is a bit different from "I have cold hands." And we could also say "Tengo fr´´io en las manos," which is "I have cold in the hands." Also verbs like itch and hurt use the dative in Spanish: "Le duelen las manos," "The hands hurt TO HIM." But a lot of the other ones are like in Czech, like "Me lavo los dientes," "I wash myself the teeth." But we still use them more than Czech, like we would say "I'm going with MY husband."

      Thank you for sharing. In many ways, the Spanish verbs are similar to Czech. We could also say _Je mi zima na ruce,_ which is similar to "Tengo frío en las manos."

    Good video - really useful...because I have been guilty of over using possessive pronouns for years :)

      I understand, the interference of other languages (especially English) doesn't help.

    Just a bit off topic: You said "Napsala jsem si to do sešitu." Could you also say "Napsala jsem si to v sešitě"?

    • @CzechbyZuzka
      @CzechbyZuzka  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      "Napsat/psát si + object" is connected with direction (napsat si to KAM?? - write it "to" where?).
      "Psát," in addition, could be used with location, although it's less common and used without the object, focused on process of writing (psát KAM/kde?): _Často si píšu v sešitě/deníku._
