  • Incredible fishing! We locked onto a pile of fish that at times measured up to 40 feet thick on the fishfinder! After using the trolling motor to anchor over them we dropped metal jigs into the school and had downright phenomenal action with weakfish (sea trout).

When your fishing for weakfish what are you looking for on your fish finder or depth finder? I’m in South Jersey and going to try and catch some weakies. As a south jersey angler (Cape May), the weakfish hasn't been even remotely considered good in 2 decades. I'm having a bit of hope with these recent videos though.
To answer the question though, NY has a lot more rock and structure around the coast, where we have mostly flat sand. I feel that has a lot to do with it.
Take a look at long island sound on a depth chart compared to the Delaware bay. It's a whole different planet.

It's up here and you will see it on video. When I use it depends on where I want to fish. I have a lot of good boat and shore access here.

    Hi !!
I just got a 12ft inflatable boat, and I was just wondering if it's Ok to surf-launch it or should I launch from a boat launch area..
