      @@BeAgainBooks, I actually do a lot of that on purpose. =). I use a lot of tombow markers when I am doing watercolor paintings. The papers that I mess up on, I just put them in my stack to dye. The result always turns out amazing. (Well, most of the time. Lol)

    I’m getting ready to avocado dye some papers, so I checked into You Tube University and started my search - I will say that your video so far is my favorite 😍. It’s clear and well done, and you even went the extra mile to show the difference between just the skins and just the pits. I missed the giveaway, but I’m a winner anyway because I learned a lot from your video and now I’m a subscriber 🥰 and I’m going to check out some of your other videos! Thanks for this!

    If you dry the papers in a hot sun they get darker quicker too. Fun if you use lace or another pattern as a resist and the sun changes the background around the shape.

    • @KateMower
      @KateMower  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good to know! That'd be nice to just leave them out and not have to worry about them getting burned. Do you have a table or flat surface outside or do you hang them? I'd like to try that but don't really have anywhere to put them outside

    Thanks for this-I have tried avocado dying several times, with very uneven results. Sometimes I get a gorgeous pink, but I have also got a pinkish brown. Thank you. You covered just about everything I can think of. Nice crunchy papers! I was wondering if we had to use the oven. I have some skins I was saving to do this. I didn't realize you use the pits too! I was going to plant them! It's too hot to use the oven right now. I may put them in the sun. I may just use the pink die I purchased!! I may do both! Thank you. I learned a lot.

    Great tutorial. I have never tried dying paper but you made it look easy. I just don’t know if I have the patience.

      Thanks! It does take a bit of time, but once you get the hang of it it's easy to multi task and do laundry/house cleaning while you're doing it.

    I haven't tried avocado dyed paper, but I've put my dry coffee dyed paper between my mattress and box springs for a while. Put them in a large manila envelope or something first.

    Thank you so much for showing the difference in color between the pit and skin of the avocado. I like the pit color better and will be trying this today. 😊

    I see I’m a bit late to find your channel.😮. Question: are some of the “other” pages glossy pages(have floral) if so how did you find they work for dye baths? Nice description and share. Thank you
