I did a plaster mold of my son’s face. It turned out great. I had to really be careful and Vaseline in his eyebrows and eyelids and eyelashes and the rest of his face. When I took it off, it stuck a little bit, but not bad at all. It was really cool. I wish I still had it. Turned out great.
I am curious and eager to try this. How much does a casting of this magnitude cost and how much time are we talking about? Several days is the guess, but just a guess. Also can this silicone hold up to fairly high heat? Looking for a lightweight alternative that us easy to mold and play with...

As Pinkysil Oddbod is a silicone used in a similar way would the process be the same with it? Would you use vasiline with it to cover the clothing too?
The process took around 45 minutes in total. For a complete body mold the steps would be different. Out tech support team can help you determine the best way to strategize that project.
I have the same questions as many. What is the cost of everything out the door? I’m going to do this for my pregnant lady so clocks ticking dude. I’m in San Diego if that helps. Please lemme know!!!!
Hi there! This is a good question for our tech support team, can you send them a ticket here? www.smooth-on.com/support/ticket/add/agree/ Thanks for watching!

I hope that poor model was paid well for her time! That looks incredibly claustrophobic - and I am not a claustrophobe. I kept wondering what would happen if she needed to pee!
I'm not a claustrophone, either. Sometimes I get sad. Does that make me a melophone? If I shake when I'm cold, am I a vibraphone? If I'm looking saxy, am I a saxophone?
This is very interesting. Randomly appearing in my recommendations, but glad it did. Model seemed to endure the process like a champ

Very nice.
Now I wanna make a "Frozen in Carbonite" wall display.

That model has a great figure.
9:25 the stick break matches up with the music perfectly
quite interesting how it was able to pick up the model's tattoo. It would be interesting to paint it in before the final shoe polish phase.
That's a great idea, Wayne!
Be careful! Where a respirator when using metal dust. It is a very effective abrasive and can cause serious harm if inhaled.

Is that mold reusable if you ant to make two pieces of the same cast? And do you ship to norway ?
Yes, this is a reusable mold.

As Pinkysil Oddbod is a silicone used in a similar way would the process be the same with it? Would you use vasiline with it to cover the clothing too?
Jodie, you would need to contact the manufacturer directly for that information.
10:42 😂
Overall, very cool process though.
Do you think you can eventually make a whole person?
10:49 surprising that tattoos are textured
How long did it take to do the entire process? And if I were to include a face and the back of the body, will the steps be mostly the same?
The process took around 45 minutes in total. For a complete body mold the steps would be different. Out tech support team can help you determine the best way to strategize that project.
Is the release agent needed? In your body cast video from 9 years ago, you hadn't used one and it still turned out very well.
Yes, release agent is required to release the silicone from the skin.
Да, довольно красиво и интересно, это еще я пойму как искусство, только зачем ноги обрезали?
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you liked it. As for the cropped legs, it was a creative decision to focus on the main subject areas of the piece.
I shoulda taken the art class
I love you Smooth-On

So how do you apply the silicone if the model is ticklish?
Making sure your model is relaxed is a key component. It may be helpful to mold a small area at a time.
Give her a test-tickle first ;-)
You make it look so easy but way out of my league
Thanks for watching, Greg!
How can I buy this in new Zealand please ?
Thanks for watching Julie Matchett. You can find a full list of Smooth-On distributors here - www.smooth-on.com/distributors/
Was any release applied to the model?
No, Hyperfolic was added to the Body Double silicone, making it self releasing.
@@smoothon no but they was a release of a different kind in editing
@@deanmartin6052 your music is reward enough Mr martin .. thank you
after calculation, how much does it cost please ?
Hi Olivier, where are you located?
Hi there
Super cool project! I was wondering, can you do this when wearing a suit for example?
All the best!
//Robin
Yes, but you would need to apply a release agent to the fabric as shown here.
Would Shoe Polish also help bring out details on an aluminum filler cast? What color/brand do you recommend? :)
It would. Color is dependent on your own taste but we find that name brand shoe polish has a higher level of pigmentation in it than generic brands.
I came here for the sake of art
App salute beauty ❤
Thank you for watching! Glad you liked it.
Nice
Thanks
How do you make the keys?
The keys are made by pouring body double silicone into a channel made of metal
@@smoothon thank you very much!
Fantástico Show
Thank you!
Et vous avez créé la femme
Вот так и делают памятники и отливают потом из бронзы.
Standing so long entrapped in rubber must be hard. I would panic.
