  • What's up guys in this video I go over 3 common hand wraps for boxing, what size should you buy, and I teach you one way of wrapping your own hands!
There are 3 main hand wraps you may see online.
1: Quick Gel Hand wraps - These do not require any wrapping they are like wearing a glove inside a glove. The gel knuckle pad feels really good and definitely softens the impact on your knuckles. However the down fall with these wraps is that they do not allow any adjusting to specific needs for example if you want more support on your metacarpals you won't find it with these wraps. The wrist strap is adjustable and can be tightened. I think these are useful for beginners or anyone looking to simply get in shape through boxing.
2: Velcro Hand wraps- This is the most common and widely sold style of hand wraps. They come in 3 main sizes. 108", 120", 180". A quick recap on size guide.
    108" - Under age of 7
    120" - 7-11 years old or smaller than 5'3
180" - Anyone 12 or over or taller than 5'3
I use these wraps on my non sparring days they're quick and convenient and they also are elastic and adjustable I can wrap my hands in whatever way I feel suits me best.
3: Leroy Mexican style Hand wraps- Now I'm not sure what makes these Mexican style but I use these on sparring day because they protect my the hand the most and they are thin. Most fighters use these wraps for sparring but the velcro wraps work as well. These Leroy Handwraps are 110" so I recommend using 2 per hand (4 rolls total). 1 wrap will be used for padding and base while the other wrap is used to secure everything else.

Recently bought my first hand wraps and they’re 120 inch everlasts cuz I didn’t know any better and kind of bought them on a whim and was very confused on why I ran out of wrap so fast I am 6 feet tall with fairly large hands/wrists so I’ll be buying some 180 inch wraps soon I wish I would’ve done research before buying the wrong ones!

Ive only ever used 180 everlast style wraps. Ive never used a knuckle pad but only ever use 16 oz gloves on the heavy bag and 12 oz on pad mits.Never had hand problems in my life .

I made the mistake of going to big 5 and buying everlast hand wraps because they were affordable and the only option. You are right, they aren’t elastic. I’ll be investing into better more elastic hand wraps 💪 thanks el yuyu!

@@ElYuyuBoxing oh Rival has sizes from 120 to 210, I think box raw, has the same sizes, but it depends on each company. Great video btw. And I agree that regular wraps and gauze is probably the most safe way to protect your hands; however, if you’re not planning to fight or participate in tough sparrings then regular 180 inch wraps is your choice

    Hi,
    I'm 6.0. I weigh 280lbs. 52 years old. I'm out of shape, I can't breathe, I use a cpap machine to sleep.
I tried a boxing gym, but I can't jump rope more than 5 jumps at a time.
Can you please make a video for out of shape beginners, and diet ideas.
    Thanks
