Alright just did this on my versa (2007-2012)
Pully bolt is 14 mm, the alternator bolts are 13 mm
To get the alternator out you need to undo the bolts pull them as far out as they go, then you pull straight back toward the bumper, no upward lift, it will take the bolts out of their channels. If you want to see how the channels/cutouts are see the top mount of the alternator, it is repeated exactly below, the bolt will bind easily. Your car is also probably pretty old so the alternator may need a light have hit left and right to get it freed up from the mount initially.

@@Streetjohn239 No problem, I got a dud alternator, the time I did that so I had to do it again like a year later, pretty happy it not only helped me but others. But yah without knowing that youll tear your hair out for hours.

@@theabbot88 which way do you take out the alternator from the top? youre probably going to have to move the radiator cover and retaining bar and everything attached to it... yikes this is terrifying, but guess what? i have to do it. you know why? Cause last mechanic left an old engine mount in my engine bay and another foiled the air intake and never mentioned my trans leak. cant trust em, gotta do it myself now. you know what might as well learn.

You have to remove the belt tensioner pulley or the bottom bolt won' 2:39 t come out. Before that you have remove the bumper and right headlight assembly. The alternator will not come out the bottom. Unbolt the AC line brackets and the alternator will come thru the front where the headlight was sitting.
i dont think you have to remove the bumper. just the radiator cover and retaining bar and maybe your air intake and coolant reservoir. just shove it slightly back. im going to try and do it without removing the reservoir.
I'll be at this for days trying to figure out how to get a socket on that lower Alt Bolt. It's blocked by the Tensioner, and I spent 4 hours trying to loosen the bolt holding the tensioner on, so I could move it, with no luck.
The tensioner is reverse threaded so you turn it opposite the way you typically would to loosen

This car is a nissan versa E11 this is not going to work with car later then 2012 the E12 takes over in 2012 and it is not the same car at all.
Ok, running into an issue where your 'intro screen' doesn't match the
actual video 'process'. This one shows 'How To... Replace the air filter', but it's the alternator being replaced.

I just love how these morons made this s*** impossible in this 2011 Nissan Versa I'm working on because it's so damn close to the f****** frame that the bolts won't even be able to move. I've gotten it out once and now I'm putting it back in is even harder
