    Whoever picked Chappie scenes to create this footage has my everlasting gratitude for they introduced me to Alan Watts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Great to see that there are people who understood the depth of this movie. A robot became a god and created a whole new life form.

    This was such a great movie. Well written ,well acted and well directed. I congratulate any movie that can genuinely make me feel emotion ,especially for a robot!! I cried several times in this movie.

      then I am not the only one.. except certain moments it wasn´t just being emotional.. I genuinely felt brinkless grief, devastation over loved person, unbridled fury and finally satisfaction and great joy.. few things and few movies make me feel like so..

    "Why did you make me so I could just die?" Great question, very powerful question. What's the point of life if there's no point? I like to think nature is better than that. I believe we do go on, where....now that's the real question!!

    • @rafaelparedes1937

      they answer was wrong. the answer was supposed to be "I made you so you could live"

      "Where" requires a destination or a final goal or ending to a journey but this "life" is not eternal expansion with limits or barriers but endless spiral / loop with no specific destination meaning this will always be this till you find the point or the purpose of it.

      Well my friend, that’s your first mistake and that’s trusting in Nature! Look to the One who actually Created Nature. And YES, the Spirit (soul) does still go on afterwards as I found out after I died though thankfully came back! And it really is our chose where we may end up afterwards as my first trip to the other side wasn’t a nice one at all. Thankfully I was given another chance. Shalom and blessings.

  • @95TurboSol
    @95TurboSol 9 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    Explaining what consciousness is, is one of the hardest things ever, because no matter what physical descriptions you try to equate it with, they never actually explain the conscious experiences themselves, I mean an experience doesn't have any physical properties that explain it! It's this base thing that we cannot probe from the "Outside" so to speak, just like watts said, you cannot taste your own taste, that is the base level you have to start from, what is taste to begin with? Who knows, I have a headache lol.

    • @ulysse21
      @ulysse21 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +95TurboSol : lol in the same time, consciousness stops each night when we sleep ( except when dreaming ) ! and there would be no consciousness or any expecience or time feeling if we could not see, hear, feel, taste, smell... which means that consciousness is basically connected to material, and is not transcendental

    • @95TurboSol
      @95TurboSol 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      maladsyko I happen to agree, but remember, causal connection isn't an identity relation, something can be entirely dependent on something else for it's existence and yet be something different than what it's dependent on. In the case of consciousness there is an identity issue where the properties of the brain are not the same as the properties of consciousness, that's why it's been such a hard problem to solve, brain properties have physical descriptions like electrical charge, weight, location, mind properties do not, things like "what cheesecake tastes like" is real knowledge but has no physical properties, or the experience of red, describing exhaustively the physical properties of the brain states that happen during the experience of red says nothing about what red looks like, it's something you just have to experience to know.
      Or even a more basic level how do we describe "awareness" physically? What electrical property or location or weight or size makes sense of it? Awareness is a really weird thing in the universe, more basic than anything physical, that's why many people say it's transcendental to the physical.

    • @ulysse21
      @ulysse21 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      OK. So why does consiousness stop when we sleep and stop dreaming ? I say because there's no object to concentrate on. No object, no content, no consiousness ! Consiousness without content is nonsense. It's like time without material and space.

    • @95TurboSol
      @95TurboSol 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      maladsyko I'm no neurologist so I'm just speculating but I'm not entirely sure if we are unconscious when we sleep or if we just can't remember anything, from what I understand we always dream when we sleep but many times we don't remember dreaming anything at all. My old pastor is a college professor teaching psychology and philosophy and I remember he said one time that there is a lot of evidence that many people in coma's are actually conscious but just cannot control their body to communicate as weird as that sounds, some people wake up from coma's with memories of things that happened in the room. Besides that, consciousness as far as we know is entirely dependent on brain waves/chemicals between neurons interacting, so if a section of our brain goes dormant (maybe while sleeping?) then the awareness is not active and or the mind doesn't have the information to be aware of anything, like you said, no content, no consciousness.

    • @ulysse21
      @ulysse21 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      95TurboSol
      Yes, no consciousness except residual brain activity when starting to sleep or before waking up, which is known as dreaming. Beyond those boundaries, there is no proof of something being aware somehow or not, and if yes, is it dependent on some hidden brain activity and maybe some hypothetical 6th sense or on something else beyond material dimension, thus out of our reach ?...

    Your soul is not in your body, your soul is infinite. Your body is in your consciousness. Everything your eyes can see (and even what it can't see) is all consciousness. Awareness is constricted but can be expanded by connecting to (bringing your awareness within) to your soul/higher self. Experience is linear, life is an infinite hologram. Focus on what you love and take action by going forward with faith. All that aside, looks like an interesting movie. Thanks for sharing. :)

    Remembering is the primary objective, to become more than physical, to learn who we are, and why we are. Consciousness is a state of awareness that transcends the physical realm. It is the ultimate phase of existence, whereby one becomes connected to all that is, even unto the eternal reaches of the cosmos, and beyond.
    Self awareness is a peaceful expression of unity, and the outward expression of knowing the true Source; which in actuality . . . is found within all living things.
    Many thanks & congratulations to you TJOP for attaining 100,000 subscribers.

    Chappie is such a good movie. I LOVE it so MUCH! Showed me and taught me a lot and made me cry the first time I seen it and it still does. There BETTER be a Chappie 2!! But we won't ever know what consiousness truely is. It's hard to explain and something we won't ever understand no matter how hard we try to. But to me consciousness is a part of our souls. Who we truely are. Yolandi makes a good point in this movie to Chappie and hopefully to us as well. Our souls are who we really are. All the actions and choices we make in this life as well as our bodies are only temporary. But our souls live on forever when we head to the next place we go to when we die. Chappie helped me and hopefully a lot of people see why some say "never judge a book by it's cover." Bc these bodies aren't who we really are.

    You are your body. That's what Alan Watts believes. 3:45 he is saying that people believe they are in their body, but he means that they are confused and that you are your body. That directly contradicts the philosophies in Chappie.

    That movie, Chappie, is truly inspirational.
    Anyway, my thanks will also go to the author for creating this montage, because it is a great montage, it's a great video. Thanks. (By the way, I honestly believe that Chappie is one of those movies that people will refer to, later, in the distant future.
