- In today's video we are looking at a small, affordable city car - The Toyota Yaris Xp10. The Yaris is an entry level city car with plenty going for it. It's a car that perhaps is the perfect cheap car for the current economic crises that has been going on in 2022. 152k on the clock, original clutch, engine and very little maintenance. Brilliant little car.

What engine size mate?
My 17 year old daughter has just bought a year 2000 Toyota Platz, a Yaris with a boot. Only 79,000 kms, about 50,000 miles.
The Platz has a 1500cc engine, the car is in excellent condition, paid NZ$3,400 and she loves it. Have not seen any rust, but will check the fuel tank. Great video by the way.

I have a 1.3 GLS automatic one of these with no rust anywhere, and no dents. It’s in the same blue as yours. It’s done 60,000 miles and has never had anything go wrong or break. They are excellent fun little things.
I have another mk2 Yaris
So I can get Classic Insurance for the MK1 now.
So I can run 2 cars for price of one, almost.
I often wiz out in the mk1 as I love it.
Glad to hear its going so well, I also have access to the Mk2 fantastic little car that definitely refined some of the earlier cars features!
I replaced all the springs on my mk2 with Eibach ones.
The straight line ride is much more plush, and there’s no roll in the corners. Well worth £175
The wheels are Corolla SR ones too.
The 195 50 16 make the car stick to the road like it’s glued down. Loads of fun

I had one of these Yaris and have now handed it on to my younger brother, the car is great never let me down great video!

got a 2000 mk1 1.3 vvti with a 355k km on the clock. doesn’t skip a beat.
i own blue 52 plate I have owned it 9 years, it has 45k and full service history. Its an awesome car.

Great car,still driving one myself. The afore mentioned rust problems are also an issue for me but easily fixed.
definitely, some are over 20 years old now so its always going to be an issue. My advice is to make sure you clear out the arches as often as possible to prevent dirt and any road grit from rusting the arch other than that its nice and easy to prevent with some wire brushing and underseal!!
they also made a t sport model with a 1.5 turbo engine
quite the rocket for the size
Ahh how interesting I knew of the 1.5 T-sport model but I thought it was NA, did they make a turbo option as well?

Can the front seats be folded or reclined flat to the ground? Would be great if you can somewhat make a makeshift bed out of it.

How many people will be in the car?😆 In all seriousness though they are great cars definitely slow but cheap to use and in 2022 what else can you ask for!
It should have 4 air bags, 2 in the regular position and 2 in the seats. At least mine has them, it's the restyle model.
