    Saw him last month. For us it was 3+ hours of this genius. Just incredible. I’m a lifelong, highly educated, professional musician and it was one of the (if not the) most impactful musical experiences of my entire life.

    I was there at the Greek Theater for this performance. It was the best thing I have ever heard live. I attend over a hundred live shows a year.and I can’t remember a more moving performance.
    Jacob Collier has changed my definition of ‘musician’. The music industry is currently full of singers and performers, but very few musicians.

    I feel the same. I am in awe of this guy. And I also am a professional musician/singer. To me he is more than just a brilliant musician...but sort of a healer in these crazy times. The epitome of Nature Boy..."There was a boy, a very strange enchanted boy....they say he wandered very far, very far, over land and sea". ❤ Thanks for your reaction!

    I saw him in concert a few weeks ago. He did this song by himself. I was already a fan of his and of this song, but was in tears. For "Little Blue", too. I've seen and heard everything from Jacob online, but seeing him live... It made no sense, bro. It was ridiculous. He's incredible. And he's a better singer than I'd already given him credit for.

      I’ve never heard him hit a bad note lol

    • @Hmmhattricker
      @Hmmhattricker 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BradSteele I believe that is one of his "tricks". He's got such a fluid style, so if there are bad notes, then they are just "passing notes" over to the next mind-blowing chord or phrase. The insane thing is that he makes it sound so good and musically spicy. Embrace the dissonance! I believe that might be one of his mantras. And by the way, how do you not cry from this?! I am full of chills and tears every time these three go together to play this tune. What a wonderful musical seven-course meal of a song.

    I suggest reacting to Jacob Collier ,Laufrey, and Dodie singing Wild Mountain Thyme with an orchestra (arranged by Jacob and Jules Buckley). Very emotional.

    An aspect of the album version I find striking is its continuity and flow. I find this live version disjointed by comparison. Part of the reason is that, whereas in the album version, different voices can breath at different times to build long stretches of continuous sound, the harmonizer is more or less limited to be silent whenever the single Jacob we get live breathes. The fact that this version is slower than the album version makes it worse, because each breath doesn't get through as much music. All in all, I feel that the harmonizer renditions he did of this song before the album version came out suited this medium better.
