    This hits home. One time, on a major road with 55mph speed limit, I came to a stop at a red light. Looked up in my mirror, and saw a fuel truck coming at full speed behind me. No brakes, no horn, no nothing. I pulled out into the intersection and he sped through the red light, and THEN hit his brakes.
    I would have been toast if I hadn't looked in my mirror that one time. I thought my car would explode like it does in the movies.

    I actually miss when helicopters exploded in every movie. They only had to look at a building and they would burst into a huge fireball. It was campy but it was entertaining. Gritty reality has it's place but there have been a few recent films that haven't been as fun as they could have been.

    The thing that gets me is when people are shoot and fine the next day. I was shot in the shoulder in Afghanistan and the first 3 days my body was so sore I could hardly take a deep breath. It took six weeks of rehabilitation to get my hand over my head and I had to learn to write again took about 9 months. And to this day my shoulder still hurts constantly and I can't pick up much weight over my head or do pull ups.

    If they revisit/expand this list they should add gun silencers. Even a .22 LR with a silencer is going to be in the 110 dB range (equivalent to a running chainsaw).

    • @thedragonlee76
      @thedragonlee76 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Back in the Vietnam war,the Special Forces guys would go deep behind enemy lines and they had silencers, but they were really called suppressors and nicknamed hush puppies, because SF guys would shoot dogs/puppies.Suppressors were designed so that the sound wouldn't carry,but also,suppressors were designed to confuse the enemy of what type of weapon was used.The suppressors that Special Forces use now sound like ants F*CKING,which means,you can't hear nothing.

  • @preahko

    A few movie myths that always bug me: 1. "Silencers" on guns make them whisper-quiet 2. Bullets are still deadly underwater 3. Humans falling at terminal velocity will magically be okay (i.e. not smashed to a bloody pulp) as long as their fall is stopped by something before they reach the ground...yeah, this includes Superman or Ironman catching you! 4. Getting knocked unconscious is no big deal.

    'Persistence is Romantic' thing is extremely common in Asian cinema. As an Indian, I have watched movies where that syndrome goes to places beyond just a simple stalking. It is wide spread too. There are hardly any movies that doesn't show romance in that angle.
    That is one of the reasons people's version of romance is skewed in India and we have incidents where a person stabs someone or acid attacks just because of rejections.

    Just proves that some grand gestures can be rather creepy, whether anyone knows it or not. Sure, it's just movie fodder at best, but in real life, it's bound to end with a possible restraining order. In other words, if that person is just not into you, let it go and find someone else who is.

    • @erikthompson619
      @erikthompson619 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was a teen in the late 80s and early 90s, when this type of thinking was arguably in its heyday. Regretfully, I did some, well, not over-abundant gestures but some courting that overstayed its welcome. No touching, and from what I could tell not downright creeping anyone out, but making them annoyed and uncomfortable - yes, definitely. I cringe at myself just thinking about it all these years later. The mere idea that an uninterested girl just had to be worn down and convinced of my greatness! The simple truth is, she either likes you or not, no quick fix exists and respect for her expressed wishes should be maintained at all times. I think and hope that I'm a better man now, and that I will raise my son to be a better man from the start.

    morning sickness is caused by the woman's natural immunity perceiving the baby as a sign of illness or parasitic infection. but when the pregnancy hormones kick in, the body identifies the baby as a developing human. though it takes a ultrasound to tell if the baby is a boy, girl, or if you have multiple births. the only bad outcome would be if the baby is disabled or has sign of growing up as a psycho.

    - If you are underwater without goggles or a mask, you cannot discern hand gestures, read a map, crack a safe, or disarm a nuclear bomb.
    - Also if you are underwater, most people can only hold their breath for about 15 seconds.
    - During an actual fist-fight, 98% of all punches claim nothing but air.
    - There really isn't any such thing as a barroom brawl. The bouncers break up the fight and toss the participants in about 60 seconds.
    - Very few historical figures, athletes, or otherwise real people look much like Elizabeth Taylor, Margot Robbie, or Leonardo DiCaprio.
    - If you lose an arm or a leg, you're not gonna be in much shape to do much anything other than go into shock and pass out.
    - Even if it is real, the Loch Ness Monster doesn't look much like a dinosaur.
    - If you're anywhere near a river/lake of lava, you're gonna be burned to a crisp within seconds.
    - Very few if any timed explosives have ever had a digital readout of exactly how much time is left before the kaboom.

      15 seconds is an incredibly short time frame and not correct. I just tried it and I held my breath for 31 seconds and I could've held it for longer. I just googled it and apparently on average people can hold their breath between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. 15 is insanely short. Don't know where you got that info from. The rest of your facts I didn't read or check so I don't know.

    The waiting 24 hrs to report someone missing is true in many cases but not all. It is always best to call as soon as the person is suspected missing, but if they are an adult, often times the police will ask to wait at least 24 hrs before filing a report. It also depends on the state laws. But it is very true, and has lead to too many people being found too late. I listen to true crime all the time.

That's why lawyers always tell you, "Don't talk to the cops." Cops also routinely make people think they're just getting questioned as a witness, when really, the person is a suspect.
