26:43 It's a perfect example that the picking order of experiments is relevant because the earlier a choice is presented, it's more likely to be picked. In psychology it's called the "primacy effect". It's sometimes used deliberately in dodgy scientific papers or in advertisement to get a specific result.
Yup, the first cabin, with expectation that there is something spooky puts them into a mindset. That was the whole reason they tested in the cabins in the first place. Could've randomized the order each time.
I'm not sure what gets me more- The fact that Kari got smacked in the head right after the scorpion ordeal or the fact that Grant had done one handed push ups!
lmao the scene when grant gets locked in the coffin with the rats looks amazing i have owned over 30 rats throuout the years and they are fantastic pets, pretty sure i can spot a chonky little white and gray Rex at 22:45 but he could just have a wiry coat :3. Also watching Owen the animal wrangler pick them up by the tail makes me want to commit extreme acts of violence towards him i cant lie...
Telling someone "Something bad happened in one of these cabins. Your job is to tell us which cabin made you the most uneasy." is skewing the results because just the knowledge of what to expect is detrimental to this I would say. I would have gone with just a normal waiting room and asked them after a few minutes how they feel, not telling them about what the experiment is actually about.
Most ‘examples’ of the sound of fear (19hz) were experienced over weeks, months and years. Three minutes really isn’t conclusive. The most cited one was a broken fan oscillating at 19hz in a research lab which caused irritation and anxiety, as well as headaches and a feeling of dread over a period of months
Spot on. Besides frequency - there are an infinite amount of possible variations of the sound itself. A simple 19Hz sine wave probably won't cut it. In reality, I would expect something more sophisticated. Like a sound around 19Hz - but with semi-tones at other frequencies or something alike.
@@starwar yeah, it's more about that it "feels" weird. That in combination with the expectation that something is off and people who are more into believing the stuff will easily do something. Than maybe add some carbon monoxide and you got the perfect haunted house.
Imagine if the Mythbusters visited the Quietest Room in the World. Also, cmiiw, but have they already uploaded the Torture Myths? One Episode where they decided to bust torture myths and there was a scene where they had to stop and abort the experiment early because it became too much for Kari? The water torture myth.
and then the experts they talked to all said variations on "Yes, the thing long-recognized by relevant organizations as a torture method is, in fact, a method of torture. You idiots." :P
come on, that corn snake was just trina be a gud boi and find a warm spot. if they're used to being handled, they really don't bother go up your sleeve😂
Perfect for Halloween season. This Mythbuster episode should be on Discovery Science. Take notes, Discovery. 😅👻 It's amazing how Jamie could keep a straight face through Adam's antics. 😊 Now that's spooky. 😱👻👻
There are things that scare people that my opinion doesn't factor into anything. People scare me, legitimately. I have anxiety, social anxiety. But I'd enjoy being in the coffin with snakes. They're just little bois.
14:00 The hit on the head clearly worked! 26:28 Seems Jamie is speachless after seeing a cünt appearing on someones forehead -- seriously, I never have seen anyone forrow their brows like that (and ym not sure if I dislike it...)
Tanks 🙏 finally a person who actually shows it all in there build and explains it in a way good way. I really have peebles whit focus and I have to say that you are great 🤠 I guess it takes long time to find it all but the logic and the aspects all of it is great to know... 👌 Keep up the way you do like in this video.
I feel like 3 minutes is not a lot of time to 'get a vibe' if this is supposed to be something that settles in. I wonder what it would've been like if they'd spent a night in those cabins, or were allowed to spend a day and night wandering around those cabins and their surroundings. The results might've been far different. Maybe not, maybe it really is just busted, but it would definitely be interesting.
@heathergarnham9555 the snakes were all pythons. They're not venomous, but they might give you a loving squeeze. And the rats were clearly captivity raised, thus free of disease(and they're actually very clean rodents, though don't go messing with wild rats as they are full of disease).
They all chose 1 because that's the first one they were sat in, so the test is invalid. Also, 2 men chose room 3 so maybe women aren't as sensitive to the frequency as us guys?
Rats or snakes...bring them on - I've kept them as pets. Spiders - love them, no problem. But scorpions!!! NFW! Kari is the bravest woman on the planet, lol!
I don't think the 19 hz myth is done right. I would have felt bad and nervous in the first and second for sure. I do think if they put sound on one of fist and the second might get different results.
That wouldn't prove the myth either as it would be that outside force. The best way possibly to test this would be to have both the order of cabins the subjects go into and the cabin with the sound be random and see how often they'd line up. You would also need a control group to see how much that first cabin effect takes hold. You'd need a much bigger sample size for that
The fear tests wouldn't work on me, these animals just don't scare me. On fact I wanted them as pets growing up, Heck I HAD snakes growing up. I wouldn't be scared I'd be making new friends and probably take one home
The only one of those 3 animals tests to disturb me (mildly) would've been the scorpions because of all the stigma and hype around them and their stingers but the snakes and rats wouldn't bother me one single bit, the snakes are completely harmless and the rats are something i have had a ton of experience with as i have owned quite a few pet rats of my own, ot blows my mind how fearfull many americans are of harmless animals amd their lack of abilty to harness the mind over matter thing
Does the narrator sound slightly different to anyone else? Not like it's a completely new voice actor but like he switched up his delivery, mic, processing or something
He actually sounds the same, but considering the delivery, I do believe the later seasons got filtered out compared to earlier seasons where the Narrator actually disses the hosts and leave adult humor all episode round.
I love the way Jamie doesn’t even pretend he’s on a tv show. No fucks given

When there are more options, you get a recency effect as well, where the last few options get picked more (or remembered more, on memory item tests).
This is called the serial position effect where the first and last words in a list or choices are remembered more easily
Yup, the first cabin, with expectation that there is something spooky puts them into a mindset. That was the whole reason they tested in the cabins in the first place.

13:00 "Oh, actually, you know what? He thinks your nail is a bug". 🦂
😂❤😂❤

IKR, Grant had some muscle!
I like these guys. They don't just tell the myth, they put them to the test

Grant screaming “SOMETHING JUST TOUCHED ME!” 😂😂

its at least useful to say that the sound wont cause people to mistake it for ghosts. i think that was a ridiculous excuse from skeptics.

3:20 Kinda hard to put that in practice in places that lack those things, like castles and abandoned structures.
i think this is one episode i never got to see. Thanks for the great uploads
I have not seen this one either. Neat!
It didn't really air much outside of the US unfortunately.
@Plushi_Stolas It didn't really air much outside of the US unfortunately.
Lol even the credits are spooky!
34:45 Which poor member of the crew got stuffed into a bright orange zoot suit? LOL

Narrator: This entire episode is scary
Jaime: except my masculine yardwork, lap it up
Bloody awesome. And when they both lobbed the cadaver through the window, I laughed my arse off! 🤭😆🤣
33:50 - is this dramatization, or an actual movie scene? Thats hilarious!
Those credits at the end ! Hilarious ! Just like with the Simpsons Horror Picture Shows, I love it !
Pretty sure never seen this ep and it's awesome! A great one!
Do you think the yellow car they used at the end was a reference to the Evil Dead car? I know its not the same car but still...
Perfect for Halloween season. This Mythbuster episode should be on Discovery Science. Take notes, Discovery. 😅👻 It's amazing how Jamie could keep a straight face through Adam's antics. 😊 Now that's spooky. 😱👻👻
I’m so glad they brought in Pamela.
I KNOW you can smell fear. It 100% smells different then regular sweat.
13:54 damnit Tory 🤕🤣
Man the idea of freezing sweat is so gross lol
Try animals as well, I believe that would be intersting. Keep up the amazing work , everyone!:)
There are things that scare people that my opinion doesn't factor into anything. People scare me, legitimately. I have anxiety, social anxiety. But I'd enjoy being in the coffin with snakes. They're just little bois.

20:55 close your eyes and let your imagination do the rest.
I didn't expect that
46:52 You can tell they were running out of time. I wish we could see the full uncut episode.
I wanted to know if dogs can really smell your fear
Tanks 🙏 finally a person who actually shows it all in there build and explains it in a way good way.

I guess it takes long time to find it all but the logic and the aspects all of it is great to know... 👌 Keep up the way you do like in this video.
“Dead body disposal olympics”😂
On a body, the weight is distributed differently than on just a big block of chains. Who would've thought.

White Socks, wasn't that a baseball team? Tory has white socks up to his ears, that long.
Black socks
Haunted cabin: failing to random ise the treatments is an elementary blunder; I expected better from them.
What season and episode is this?
THE CREDIT GAGS! 😂
What was the chemical that the gas chromatograph picked out?
Don't know, probably some pheromone or something similar.
why didnt they give tori proper shoes 😂
Was about to say a human nose can't detect fear. But a dog's nose definitely can sense the chemical change of hormones in us.
lol checkout the names in the credits
Imagine being more afraid of rats than frigging scorpions or snakes.
Rats are disgusting, if you don't upset the others you should be OK, also I doubt they used venomous snakes so even if they got bit they wouldn't die.
Yeah the rats are cute. I mean just look at those eyes. They can be gross, but scary?
@heathergarnham9555 the snakes were all pythons. They're not venomous, but they might give you a loving squeeze.
And the rats were clearly captivity raised, thus free of disease(and they're actually very clean rodents, though don't go messing with wild rats as they are full of disease).
love you Tiffany
Am i the only one to feel the weird feeling from the speakers by only the sound of the video?
why would anyone be afraid of tame domestic rats
13:16

Funny . Do your dirt reasech before you do the crime . Thanks guys!

True but the sound should make a difference in any cases
the sindaver test is stupid, they are living the equivalent of a small child
😂❤😂❤
Cats and birds Can smell fear 🤷🏼♂️
Using humans?? Naaah😎
Cats and birds would attack when they smell fear… just saying
The fear tests wouldn't work on me, these animals just don't scare me. On fact I wanted them as pets growing up, Heck I HAD snakes growing up.
I wouldn't be scared I'd be making new friends and probably take one home
They'd find something else that scares the 🤬 out of you instead.
I'd give anything to smell Karie's sweat LOl 😂😂
Cmon now, don't get Karie'd away.
first!!!!

Maybe you happen to be watching a relatively old episode then watched a newer one in a short amount of time
Feels like he’s hamming it up a bit more for the Halloween aspect of the episode.
He actually sounds the same, but considering the delivery, I do believe the later seasons got filtered out compared to earlier seasons where the Narrator actually disses the hosts and leave adult humor all episode round.
I guess it is exactly what @Monkey_D_Luffy56 said. Banijay was releasing the first episodes until 2/3 days ago. Now there's a more recent season.
def somthing to do with his mic
