@@michalmazur997 Its the stories. They are incredible. You get sucked in to the stories they tell on there right. It is not a regular rap album. A little like listening to Kool G Rap Live and Let Die album. They take you on some tour and tell a story in a song about some hood shit which you feel def they experienced. That is a special skill I feel not all rappers have. People are always going on about Illmatic which is great but the Infamous album captivates you.

This was Hav & P when they were young in the game. Talented as Hell, but hadn’t really fleshed out their identity yet. Sounded a lot like Da Youngstaz, just not as loud. Hav finding his own lane on Infamous and Hell On Earth (Hell On Earth is so criminally slept on) with the sound got P to go just as dark with the lyricism and the rest was history.

Their best album sonically really is Murda Muzik but obvs everyone’s favourites is Hell on Earth and Infamous. But their best work by far really is Infamous, talk about an album that describes an era of hip hop and city so well. They legit changed the sound of hip hop after that release. Hell on earth also was brilliant piece of work but it’s more of a darker and aggressive version of Infamous , Murda Muzik took a different approach as it was 1999, hip hop was quite commercial by then and then Infamy also was a completely different sound.

@@mohadmohamed6247 True, I don't know if it would've worked out right like it does with for example Alchemist. But, let's think about it like this: CNN also had that grimy street sound, they make one song with Preemo (Invincible) and it turns out to be a big classic. So pretty curious what could've been if it happened in the glory days right after The Infamous and/or Hell on Earth.

As rap/hip-hop head in the early to mid 90s, rappers at that time had us all the way together and damn near dropping classic bangers every month it seemed like. Wu, Snoop, Dre, Outkast, NWA, Gang Starr, Digital Underground, Breed, BIG, Da Brat, 2 Live Crew, Bone, The Roots, Souls of Mischief, Getto Boys, Roots, Digable, Nas, Mobb Deep, AZ, Heavy D, Crucial Conflict, West Side Connection, LL, DJ Quick, E-40, Lil Kim Foxy, Pac, 8 Ball & MJG, Black Moon, Cube, Yo-Yo, Rage, Scarface, Dogg Pound, Leaders of the New School, Brand Nubian, EPMD, Latifah, Redman, Keith Murray, Fat Joe, Naughty, De La, Kool G, Spice 1, Above The Law, Poison Clan and so many more.
Then if we wanted to switch and still stay in the zone we had Jodeci, D'Angelo, Mary J, Groove Theory, Montel, Xscape, SWV, TLC, Silk, Boyz II Men, Troop, Brandy, Troop, H-Town, Zhané, Monica, Michel'le, Blackstreet....all kinda high quality options anywhere you looked or listened. And what's even scarier is that there are many more who I didn't name who were just as high quality.

Really cool to hear the og version of PP. You gave it that dark mobb vibe tho. So sick. People always talk about The Infamous being the quintessential album, and it is. But I discovered MD when they first came out with Juvenile Hell. And that album is one of my go 2s. Special place in my heart. Especially the first side of the tape. Such an overlooked masterpiece. Always amazing to have you and Large Professor on the same shit. Peace from Jersey 🙏
