Davy Jones barely lost the 96 Indy 500 coming in second to Lazier. A guy most racing fans never heard of almost won the Le Mans and Indy in the same year😮
Davy Jones was an awesome IMSA GTP driver. I saw him race back from 87-92 and I was a fan of the Castrol Jags along with his mighty XJR-14 in 1992. I honestly think he would've won the title if he didn't have some of the issues, he had plus a backup car like Toyota and Nissan had. I was a huge Geoff Brabham fan in that era but I always liked the Jaguars to.
Thank you for sharing this video with us 🙏. Very appreciated, Le Mans is just something special ❤. Love to find old footage of Le Mans racing between 1989-2008. Everything after 2008 is still fresh in memory 🤣
I think because it is too old. TH-cam doesn't have any data in it's database on Le Mans from 1996 (well it does now :-)) , so it's algorithm doesn't recognize what this video is.
Le Man race cars were so unique looking in the 90s.
try 1923
@@michaelireland7239 that too yes
Golden era in that regard.

Also came in 3rd in the 1983 British F3 Championship behind Ayrton Senna and Martin Brundle
Davey was a very rapid driver. He had some crashes, but mostly due to mechanical failure.

The Pilot sponsored F40 had an eventful race 😂
Thanks for posting .. great video. First time I’ve seen the 96 edition. Andrew Marriott does a great job here - what a cracking race !

Yes, fantastic, agree absolutely. But I'm pretty fond of Mount Panorama. You've done a great job with your film. Thank you.
Vintage year; great line up too 👍
My first Lemans, i watched on TV. Remember Andretti crash.
Thanks a lot for uploading this! :)
Thanks for this 👍👍👍
Thank you!!
Really bizarre that GT cars were at the front
It's super clear for 1996
すごい! good good!
Davy Jones almost won Indy the month before.

i hoped mclaren would win
1995
PORSCHE!!!!!!
A very bland version of the Le Mans 24h. Basically a race of GT cars is not a worthy a race of this iconic stature.
Still better than the Hypershitcars with which the ACO has killed the sport now.
Not at all , my first Le Mans and I loved it
