For those who don't understand why China's attempt at 123kg got 2 red lights:
During the Jerk part of the movement, her elbow is slightly bent. That results in a minor yet clearly visible push-press. Push press is not allowed in the Clean and Jerk movement. After the jerk the lifter must get under the barbell with his/her arms completely straight and locked in position.
Hope that clarifies it a bit

    • @napa5235

It has this name because of China's pressure.
They held a referedum in Taiwan in 2018 to change this name (You're probably even more aware than me about this, since you're Taiwanese). But this referedum was rejected with the argument that Taiwan could lose their membership in the olympics and other organizations (E.g Fifa) due to Chinas' pressure.
Still sad though, I wish you guys could use your flag, name and anthem in the olympics and other sports.

I agree. That was a horrible strategy on the part of the chinese team. They could've kept the 123 or just chosen to go 1-3 kgs higher than 112 and it's a sure gold medal. But maybe they wanted to brag off a bit and so they went home with no medal.
Lol, picture na picture na rito si hidilyn:)

I'm sorry to inform you that Hsu Shu-ching was retired from weightlifting competition due to injury. It was a bittersweet ending of her career. Looks like she won't compete for Tokyo 2020 after all. Now it's Hidilyn Diaz's turn to take her place by winning the Philippines' 1st ever Olympic gold medal. I hope she doesn't suffer the same fate as Shi-ching.
