She didn't just lift that barbell. She lifted the whole country I tell y'all. She lifted us Filipinos. So glad to have lived just to witness this HISTORICAL moment. Very proud of you my girl Hidilyn. ALWAYS AND FOREVER WILL BE!🇵🇭🏅

@@mahadersabiran6286 well the truth is, and as far as i know about our history, many of the filipinos descended from the Indonesians who were considered as the first settlers in our country, who were seafarers and came in big balanghays. I believe that's one reason why you'll find many of our words and even the people themselves are similar to indonesians. Countless times I've mistaken indonesians here in saudi arabia as filipinos and the feeling i have for them are somewhat like close to a compatriot:)

Thank you Amit. Hidilyn works so hard and she was persistent in her training during the pandemic. She even just used improvised lift with gallons of water and sandbags. And now her hardships and sacrifices finally paid off. I also watched Neeraj winning performance in the javelin. HIstoric win for India also in the athletics. Congratulations!

One of the great things about the Olympics is seeing a nation win a gold medal that’s never won one before. I’m very happy for this young woman and for the Philippines! Great job and I had tears in my eyes as she cried.❤️
Yes, that's the main reason I love to watch Olympic games. The sports events are exciting, but the best thing is always the emotions of the athletes, especially if they are not the one expected to win.
Her emotions as soon as she knows she lifted it, and her teams hugging and crying is just so contagious. Pure joy.
I am happy that Philippines won gold. Despite the lack of weightlifting infrastructures, she trained and persevered with whatever facilities she had. She is a perfect example of grit, determination and perseverance.
She trained in Malaysia in a very humble condition. You might think she isnt an olympics athlete judging from the equipments she used to practice.
Add with all the financial struggles. Ph doesnt give much budget support for athletes.
@@Top5_Pilipinas Exactly, unless it's basketball
Lack of support from the current Philippine administration and yet they are the first one to grab the credit.
@@Top5_Pilipinas you are a true bloodied dilawan! She got all the financial support that PH government can give. Scram!
Hidilyn's emotions pouring after her final attempt shows how the 97 years is well worth the wait. That is the golden feeling. ❤️❤️
we got robbed twice in boxing in 1996 Atlanta Olympics and in 70s so sad 😔
@@jmwes12 yes indeed, onyok outclassed his bulgarian opponent in the finals
but the cross-eyed european judges unanimously counted it otherwise.
Hello handsome.where are you from?
@@jmwes12 rob what? Boxing is a sport which is decided by judges. We should join sports which are won by us and won't be affected by judges' bias. Hidilyn did so. She lifted that weight. And judges couldn't influence the result.
Hi
this has been a journey going through it. Just like a movie with suspense and thriller. Wow...such moving presence of one soul on the way to gold. just wow...she trained in Melaka somewhere in Malaysia and that makes us Malaysian proud to have her here. Its a win for all of us.
