That sucks you lost an employee in the middle of the sale. Hopefully you've found a reliable replacement by now.
Then having 2 people doing the work of 3. That's when you really need to take care of your employees- having to not only work during the pandemic, dealing with the crowd , endless line of people, the heat, and then being short handed. That's a lot to put on employees and not reward them when they are making you money surpassing what you projected to make.

Hey rabbit! Maybe do a time limit on each group of 25 people. Like 20 min to shop, then the next 25 people come in etc.. not sure if that can work!
Maybe you need to add a rule to your list for bag day: No taking items out of their packages.
Big question: did you catch the 2 ladies which went behind the fence a 3rd time, or did they have anything in their bag which they shouldn't have?

Rabbit - I 100% love love your longer videos!! I watch & listen as I’m doing my artsy things. It’s so cool to see you doing your things & NOT HAVE TO KEEP SWITCHING. Can’t thank you enough for videos that talk & ramble- as you call it- showing all kinds of things we don’t normally see. You show so much about what happens ‘behind the scenes’ that we wouldn’t even think about retail/wholesale!!!
Simple, yet important thing’s why retailers/wholesalers dislike people. I know some people knock you for saying that- but they don’t realize you say it here on YT, but YOU’RE POLITE TO PEOPLE! But back to the point - where is a trash can is easy - putting things back where they go when we decide we don’t want it - putting it back inside its packaging etc.. things that ‘were’ taught to be done automatically.
*** The power of honest day’s work AND THE PAYOFFS .. you Rabbit, are teaching people, by example, that working hard is going to bring them great rewards. Such a huge area of learning that this generation is not being impressed upon enough.
The absolute positive value of these videos has the ripple effect. For me it’s beautiful company, as I sit down & do my arts. I’m retired.. however, my daughter & her friends come in to watch me create my art & they get lost in your videos. They are mesmerized with what you’re doing. They tell a friend or two. They are talking about starting Arbitrage businesses on eBay & Amazon because of you.. & where to buy overstock pallets & so on. We discuss a lot about how you maneuver! They are taking courses in high school & college, from high school - in business etc to prepare for Accounting & Taxes etc..

You know they can do as little as possible. Tim, i think thats his name, as much as you say he does he should really get a bonus. That warehouse sale is a big job and if you think a person should not be award for going beyond and making the sale a success then what type of person are you. If you want the whole reward without sharing you are very selfish. You did not do all this by your self.

Well, here's one of those things you don't want to have to deal with: next sale, the yellow gate needs to be secured to the wall and LOCKED. Right behind it, you need to block out the view to the rest of your space. Make it impossible to access. Don't unlock it at any time the public is inside. Sad fact of dealing with humans. Otherwise, this looks like the sale was a massive, massive success, and certainly gives great financial support to the rest of your day to day business on ebay and such. Congrats!
Hi! I was at your sale today! 10/22/2020. Someone there mentioned you have a TH-cam channel and I looked it up! I was also at the dollar sale where you showed the line. I found it funny because I was the exact last person in the line sitting there on my phone. And then when you came back that was my white Chevy Cruze that was pulling out in front of you. It was a while ago so I don’t exactly remember how long I was there I want to say it was at least 2 hours in line. Thank goodness for wonderful people because if it wasn’t for the good conversations in line I would have turned around and left in the first 20 minutes!

Thx for showing John, what a fantastic sale, well done everyone involved, I think with a couple of people loading tables over night you would crack the 100k and a bit more, but the way you ran this sale, I think you did absolutely fantastic Mr Rabbit, I think your friend talking it over with his wife is nuts, $1000 for every thing left is a steel, bit of work but come on $1000 is nothing for the stock left, looking forward to hear the final total I’m guessing a little over $70k. We heard Tim’s name get a mention a couple of times so a huge shout out for Tim, I know there were others helping but Tim’s name was the only one mentioned I think, it’s a pity you can’t sell clean cardboard, $$$$$$, lol, thx again for taking the time to film, loved it, when’s the next one, come on start planning John, you’ve had a couple of weeks rest, lol, 👍😂
There had to be a company that is super easy to allow a client to enter their phone number and when there is room in the building...you can simply text them there will be room in 15 minutes or what not. Those restaurant squares would be lost, broken, or mistakenly brought home with customers. Text seems to be the most inexpensive and effective solution.
Fantastic Sale!! I’m sure you made goal and more! A bigger space seems reasonable but you were looking for that already.

Works real good . Even can use on car. DOES NOT HURT PAINT. Then clean just clean area WITH A CLEANER.

Amazing sale, Rabbit! Glad it was such a success! Can't think of a more deserving guy! Probably no amount of energy drinks are going to relieve this level of exhaustion, I hope you took a few rest days when it was all over. In taking a few years off from online selling after 13 years, we've been doing event vending, and I can relate to the exhaustion when we've done a 10 day fair in high heat and humidity. We thought we'd drop at times! Time to go check out your recap vid now. Say hi to Mrs Rabbit, and take her out for a nice steak dinner :)
Just went to our first pallet sale, bought 2...we'll see how it goes
Not sure if someone in the comments has already said this but perhaps a texting notification method would be another alternative to having people wait in line. That's how a lot of things are done these days, such as at restaurants, instead of the buzzers they used to give you. I don't know the exact system to implement but figured it's cheaper than paying for the buzzers and also more convenient for both you and them. I can see why people would want to leave after waiting for so long. Best of luck.
I've been making masks with straps that go around the back of the head. Missing an ear? Whatever. No sore ears and the bottom strap doubles as a way to hold it while it's not over your face. RE the orange sold tags: pure acetone? It's carcinogenic but dissolves Krazyglue. RE next time: a local estate sale has sign-ups on line that start four days before the sale begins. Thought?

new rule for your fill a bag for next sale: "DO NOT OPEN PACKAGES TO MAKE ITEMS FIT IN THE BAG"
Maybe place smaller baskets/displays by registers (maybe 3-tier vertical display on counter?) with $1 items (like bunnies/snacks/keychains). Keep supply under register & cashier can re-stock as needed. Start from $10 day & go for entire sale. Impulse buys like large box stores. Love the videos.

I guess just pray they raise the limit of people from like 25 to 50 or something. Or maybe try and enforce a time limit but that might be impossible/hurt sales. Overall it’s a good problem to have unless you piss too many people of from waiting :/
Honestly, with how close the tables are together, I don’t think would could fit many more than 30 or 40, especially with the shopping carts
Also I don’t think people spend overly long there - they are there to grab stuff before the next person gets it !
Good thing you got that extra shipment! Feel like once it hit $2 day you should've just started wheeling whole pallets of stuff out and just restocked right from the pallets lol. Crazy! Hope your next one can be held in a large place for sure

More people are off work than during any other sale and more people are in need of a good deal than during any other sale... That's probably a bit of why you had so many custies :)
pick nick tables with umbrellas... you can sell cool drinks,sandwiches, hot dogs and so on.
Or contact a local food cart and see if they want to pitch up, they can make money and you make good contacts?
He might need a different permit then what he already has for him to do it himself.
Think about a sign up sheet at the door and assign people a number like you get at the deli counter. You can add a serving customer # sign outside the door or maybe even on a website folks could access from their phones. We have some local estate sale companies that do this to avoid a long line and allow folks to sit and wait in the comfort of their cars.

Hey Rabbit, I have an idea: why not send 25 people in at a time with a time limit, say 20-30 minutes to shop on hectic days like that. That way if you have a long line to start, you can give people a tag or ticket for their time slot, and they can go about their day. Many people probably will like this forum better as they don't have to wait in line, will know when they'll make it in, also probably more sales due to limited shopping time (more impulse buys). Sure there are other factors that come into play, but overall might be something to look into. I'm sure you can figure out the small stuff if this sounds like it can fit the warehouse palooza. Hope this helps or sparks another idea that might help out. I am a reseller as well and your videos always inspire me and are entertaining as well. Thanks for all your knowledge

For your capacity issue, try reservations, booking 15 or 30 minute time slots, call it "30 minute to bag it"
One thing I would suggest is announce the price point for the day on the morning video and the sign out front. That way you can decide whether or not to drop the price. And people won't hold off on purchasing items.

For the carts....instead of removing the sold stickers just cover them up with green tape. Seems easier than removing the stickers.
The Paint Additive that’s not moving- Artists are using a product called Floetrol in Paint Pouring art in bulk masses!!! There’s a LOT OF US out here! Advertise that stuff as a similar product to Floetrol because that’s what it is - IF IT IS USED TO HELP PAINT GO/FLOW THRU A PAINT GUN- We buy this stuff by the gallons to pour our paintings! Literally gallons per month. I know in Canada they’re paying $70+ plus shipping for a gallon. Advertising for Canada may be great- if they can get friends to meet or bring it.. or marketplace it. Call out to pour painting artists. I’d buy some to try it out. We’re always looking for products because we hoard everything artsy 😂😂😂 ask an artist.. 100% Fact.

Suggestion for waiting in line.
Give a ticket with a time. My goodwill bin store does that. Come back at your time.
People with claustrophobia can have a very difficult time wearing masks. True fact. I’m an RN, have claustrophobia with anything around my head so wearing a mask has been difficult for me. But I do it when I need to and take it off as soon as possible. I’m surviving, but my blood pressure has consistently been elevated when I’m wearing my mask and I get anxious. I try very hard to be mind over matter...with limited success!!
That makes sense, I never would have thought of that.
I get anxious wearing a mask too, but do so to prevent spread, just like everyone else should. I've found that if I breathe in slowly through the nose, and exhale from the mouth it really helps.
Naphtha at lowes gets stickers off.. soak the sticker, wait a minute, soak again and they'll come off super easy.. I haven't had any damage to painted items (wouldn't use it on my car tho haha)

You could make numbered poker chips and hand them out in line so people could run other errands and when they come back if there number is the lowest they get in next
Funny how much people still complain during a pandemic when there’s things that are simply out of your control.
for the next sale, give people numbers and then get their cell numbers. Give them a call to stand in line when they become the tenth person in line to get in.They can leave if they have to and come back as they become one of the 10 next people to get in.
Your merchandise will sell much better if:
· everything was seperated into sections (tables) {kitchen, toys, hba, tools & cars, clothes, special occasions, etc}
· there were large colorful eye catching posters indicating each section
· taped 1 of each item in the boxes to the outside of each box
· ditched the boxed and invested in bins
· opened 30 min earlier for disabled ppl and non mask wearers but only allowed 5 ppl in at a time
· offered coupon discouts to shoppers who post a video on you tube or twitter showing what they bought and how much they paid at one of your sales
· you had a "club" where ppl had to provide address and email to receive sale info and phone as their club number and then everytime they attended a 4 -10 sale they receive xxx amount off a xxx amount sale and on the 1-3 sales they get a free item on each visit
Don’t worry rabbit I am in full agreement with you I also do not believe there are that many medical conditions as to why a person cannot wear a mask I think it’s just people being difficult and looking for attention either way you have to do what you have to do you have to follow the government rules you have to protect yourself and your business I fully understand that and I’m sure most people do as well.

You asked for ideas for the next sale about people waiting outside...if you move your other warehouse next door like you mentioned in a different video and do that walkthrough between them...put all the inventory in the other warehouse and set up the back area with tables to shop as well. That will allow you to let more people in at one time since there will be more space to move around and somewhat distance. Plus, remember it’s only this way because of social distancing needs...once that’s not an issue you probably won’t have that problem!
Hey just an idea, what if you lined the building with tables then lead it into the garage and create a one way path then lead it out of the garage to the register. Kind of like how a firework tents diverts traffic if you've ever noticed.

It's been so long since we had a new video!
We had to move to those lighter blue masks, more risk of getting covid, but at least you can breathe through them without rebreathing your air and soaking your face with moisture. Also it's worse in southern states. But I hate going outside here in the summer anyway.

PA restaurants just went up to 50% occupancy so maybe you will be able to allow more than 25 shoppers in at a time at your next sale.

He did not buy it. His wife said no, but I did end up selling the bed sheets for a grand to someone else!
They did not get booted, but we did go through their items to make sure there was nothing from the back in them.
