Yay our favorite Hot Rod Hottie Jacqui is back. I absolutely LOVE Chevrolets LS and LT small blocks. The amount of power you can get from these small lightweight packages is insane.

This girl can talk. I love listening and watching her confident and concise narration. She could get a job at GM. She does a better job at narration.

The big difference between the previous 6.0 liter truck engine and the new 6.6 liter is the 6 6 is much better for using very hot burning propane. The reason is that after the block is cast, a drill is used to make a water cooling hole between each cylinder. This means better cooling for hot running engines. It means the LT block is better for cooling than the race blocks that have siamese cylinders without water jackets between each cylinder. Remember that propane is about half the pump price of diesel fuel so it will still be the smart choice for long engine life and lowest possible emissions. Propane burns vary hot because it's 37 percent hydrogen.

    I would like to see a L8T 6.6 with LS3/LS7 full race heads/intake.

I'm also interested in the LT/LS hybrids. I may build one for my tow pig

Makes me wonder what a flat piston, naturally aspirated engine would make.

The LT1 by itself is already more efficient than the LS architecture, so I'd say up to 900 horsepower. Concept Performance just came out with an LTR block which takes everything they learned with the 2000-hp capable LSR aluminum block and implemented it into the new LT aluminum architecture. 4.185"x4.125" in that block is completely doable, and would EASILY make 850 or more. Katech already made 800 with a 427 inch setup.

That would be good with a side mount blower.

In the process in acquiring a 2016 Silverado. Thinking of dropping this engine, but need to upgrade the transmission. What auto transmission should I look into doing that very thing?

The cast iron LT block is it made at the Tonawanda engine plant ?

They don't cast there. They build engines. Possibly in Michigan or Mexico.
